What's In The Bunch

White roses and green spider chrysanthemums. The roses are the focal point. Creamy white, full open heads, and they're the first thing you notice. The spider chrysanthemums (some florists call them fuji mums) do something different. Those long, curling petals add texture and movement that a bunch of roses alone can't give you. The mixed foliage, ruscus and fern, fills out the base so the whole thing feels generous without looking cluttered.

The green and white palette is one of those combinations that reads as expensive and intentional. People default to colour when ordering flowers. Pinks, reds, yellows. Anna, who spent fifteen years as a working florist before joining us, has a specific view on why this palette works and why most people underestimate it.

And there's a longevity advantage. Chrysanthemums are one of the longest lasting cut flowers you can buy. Well conditioned spider mums can go two weeks in a vase without dropping a petal. The roses will give you seven to ten days, but the chrysanths keep the arrangement looking full and alive well after the roses have finished. You're not sending something that peaks on day one and falls apart by day three.

Sizing

Four sizes. Standard starts at $79.95 and is a full, generous bunch. Deluxe adds extra stems for $6 more. Premium at +$31 is noticeably bigger, the kind of size that fills a dining table vase properly. Extra Large at +$45 is what you'd send when you want to make an impression.

Vase is not included. We sell flowers with vases separately if you need one. If you're sending to someone and you're not sure they have a vase at home, adding one is worth the few extra dollars. A medium width vase works best for this bunch. You want enough room for the stems to breathe but enough structure to hold the arrangement upright.

Care

When the bunch arrives, unwrap it, trim all the stems at a forty five degree angle with sharp scissors, and strip every leaf that would sit below the waterline. Submerged leaves rot, breed bacteria, and clog the stems. Room temperature water for the first fill, about two thirds of the vase. Change it every two to three days.

Keep the arrangement out of direct afternoon sun and away from heavy aircon if you can. Both accelerate dehydration. Avoid the fruit bowl too. Ripening fruit gives off ethylene gas that speeds up petal drop, and chrysanthemums are particularly sensitive to it.

With proper care the spider mums should give you up to two weeks. The roses will go seven to ten days. When the roses start to fade, remove them and the chrysanths and foliage will keep going on their own. You'll get more life out of the bunch that way than leaving everything in until the weakest stems finish first.

Delivery

Your bunch is hand tied and delivered by a real partner florist from our network of 800+ across Australia. We've been running this network since 2009. Not posted, not shipped from a warehouse. Made fresh on the day and hand delivered to the door.

Delivery is $16.95 Australia wide. That fee is subsidised. The actual cost of getting a florist to hand deliver to a specific address is often higher, but we absorb the difference.

Same day delivery if you order before 2pm on weekdays or 10am on Saturdays. Those cutoffs exist because the florist needs time to source the stems at market, condition them properly (two to four hours of hydration before arranging), hand tie, wrap, and route the delivery while the flowers are at their freshest.

No Sunday deliveries. Flower markets close Saturday afternoon. Any florist delivering on a Sunday is working with Friday stock that's already lost roughly 30% of its vase life. We'd rather be upfront about that.

Substitution Policy

From time to time, due to seasonality and supply, our partner florists may need to replace individual flowers within this bunch. Both roses and chrysanthemums are among the most reliably available flowers year round, so this bunch tends to be more consistent than seasonal arrangements. But on the rare occasion a substitution is needed, any flower replaced will be of equal or greater value and will stay within the white and green colour palette shown. The overall look and feel of the bunch will be maintained. If you have specific preferences or need to exclude certain flowers (allergies, for example), add a note to your order or contact us and we'll pass the instruction directly to the florist.
