Add a Little Something Extra to Your Flowers

Before we get into it, a quick heads up. The products on this page cannot be ordered on their own. You will need to add flowers to your cart first, then you can pop one of these extras in with your order. It makes sense when you think about it, a lonely teddy bear arriving at someone's door without flowers would be a bit odd, right?

So why add an extra to your flower order? Honestly, after nearly two decades of taking flower orders, both in our old shop in Kingscliff and now through our call centre in Armidale, we have seen first hand how a small addition can turn a lovely gesture into something truly memorable.

What's On Offer

We have kept this collection simple and purposeful. A glass vase so the recipient does not have to scramble around looking for something to put their flowers in. A teddy bear that tends to stick around long after the flowers have faded. Chocolates, because flowers and chocolate together have never been a bad idea in the history of gift giving. Balloons for birthdays, new babies, get well wishes, and general celebration. And a bottle of wine or sparkling for those moments that call for a toast.

Prices start from around $20 and go up to about $30 for the wines. Nothing outrageous, just thoughtful additions that our partner florists can include with your delivery.

A Story From the Shop Days

I remember one afternoon in the Kingscliff flower shop days, it would have been around 2008, a bloke came in absolutely flustered. He had forgotten his wedding anniversary. Completely forgotten. His wife was at work in Tweed Heads and he needed flowers delivered before she got home at 5PM. It was already 2:30PM. We sorted the flowers, no problem, but then he paused at the counter and said something along the lines of "she's going to kill me, I need something else, anything else". We suggested a vase and chocolates. He grabbed both without even asking the price. Later that week he came back into the shop, grinning, told us the vase saved his life because apparently the last time he sent flowers she had to put them in an old pasta sauce jar. The chocolates helped too, he reckoned.

Another One From Those Early Days

This one still makes me smile. A young mum, maybe early twenties, came into the shop to order flowers for her own mum who had just had surgery. She had a toddler on her hip, bags under her eyes, clearly running on empty. She picked out a bouquet, nothing fancy, and then spotted the teddy bears on the shelf near the counter. She hesitated, looked at the price, put it back. I could tell she wanted to add it but was watching her budget. She paid for the flowers and left. About ten minutes later she came back, toddler still attached, and bought the teddy. She said her mum collected them, had done since she was a kid, and she just could not walk away knowing it would make her smile. That extra $20 or so meant something to both of them. It was not about the money, it was about the thought behind it.
