Description
Three gerberas in mixed colours, wrapped with foliage, a personalised gift card, and hand delivered by a partner florist on the day. $53.50 with same day delivery if you order before 2pm weekdays or 10am Saturdays.
Colours in the photo are orange, hot pink, and yellow. Your florist will select from what's freshest on the day so the exact colours may vary, but you'll always get a bright, mixed colour combination. Wrapping colour may also vary.
What You're Getting
Three single stem gerberas with foliage, wrapped in paper. Gerberas are one of those flowers that do more work than people give them credit for. The heads are big relative to the stem, the colours are strong, and three of them together in a wrap is enough to fill a bedside table or kitchen bench without looking sparse.
The reason gerberas look so full with just three stems is the head size. Each bloom is roughly the width of your palm. You don't need twelve of them to make an impression.
Anna spent fifteen years as a working florist before she joined us, and gerberas were one of the flowers she had the most to say about.
"Gerberas are gorgeous but they're notorious for neck droop. The stems are hollow, which is the problem. After a couple of days the stem can't support the weight of the head and the whole thing flops forward. We'd use a fine wire through the inside of the stem to give it structure. Takes an extra minute per flower but it's the difference between three days and eight days in the vase. A good florist does this automatically."
That wiring detail is worth knowing. It's one of the reasons we use partner florists who make arrangements fresh by hand rather than shipping pre-made bunches from a warehouse. A florist who wires gerbera stems before they go out is a florist who cares about what happens after delivery.
Who Orders This One
Birthdays mostly. Gerberas are bright, they photograph well, and three wrapped stems is the kind of gift that says "I was thinking of you" without the weight of a big romantic bunch. We see a lot of these go to workplaces, to hospitals, to friends. One of the reviews on this product said it best: "Perfect gift idea. Easy to use, super fast delivery. The recipient was very happy and the flowers and teddy bear cheered her up immensely."
At $53.50 this is our second most affordable flower after the single wrapped red rose. That price covers the three gerberas, foliage, wrapping, a personalised gift card, and hand delivery to their door by a real partner florist on the day. Order before 2pm weekdays for same day delivery. If you want more gerberas, our Bright Mixed Gerbera Bunch at $80.75 gives you a full sized bunch.
Care
Gerberas have a good vase life if you do two things right from the start. First, trim the stems at an angle, about forty five degrees, before they go in water. The angled cut stops the stem from sitting flat against the vase bottom, which blocks water uptake. Second, don't fill the vase too deep. Gerbera stems are hollow and they absorb water differently to solid stemmed flowers like roses. About 5 to 8 centimetres of water is enough. Too much and the stems can become waterlogged and soft, which actually accelerates the neck droop Anna mentioned above.
Room temperature water. Change it every two to three days.
And one more thing most people don't know about gerberas.
"Never put flowers near the fruit bowl. Sounds like an old wives' tale but it's chemistry. Ripening fruit gives off ethylene gas. Flowers detect it and start to shut down. Gerberas and carnations are especially sensitive. I've seen arrangements next to a banana bowl age visibly overnight. Just move the fruit or move the flowers. That's all it takes."

Delivery
Your gerberas are wrapped and hand delivered by a real partner florist from our network of 800+ across Australia. We've been running this network since 2009. Not posted, not shipped from a warehouse. Made fresh and delivered on the day.
Delivery is $16.95 Australia wide. That fee is subsidised. The actual cost of getting a florist to hand deliver to a specific address is often higher, but we absorb the difference.
Same day delivery if you order before 2pm on weekdays or 10am on Saturdays. Those cutoffs exist because the florist needs time to source, prepare, and route the delivery while the flowers are still at their best.
No Sunday deliveries. Flower markets close Saturday afternoon. Any florist delivering on a Sunday is working with Friday stock that's already lost roughly 30% of its vase life. We'd rather be upfront about that.
Need to change something after ordering? Email [email protected], call us on 1300 360 469 (Mon to Fri, 7am to 6pm, Sat 7am to 12pm), or use live chat. If something isn't right with the delivery, get in touch within 24 hours with a photo and we'll sort it out.
