Description
Two stems of pink oriental lilies, arranged in a glass vase and hand delivered by a partner florist on the day. $60.50, vase included, same day delivery if you order before 2pm weekdays or 10am Saturdays. Arrives ready to display. No unwrapping, no hunting for a vase, no scissors.
The glass vase in the photo is for display purposes only. Your partner florist will arrange the lilies in a glass vase but the style and shape may differ from the image. Lily colour is pink.
What You're Getting
Two stems of pink oriental lilies with foliage, arranged in a glass vase with water, ready to go straight onto a table or bench the moment it arrives. Each stem carries multiple blooms, typically three to five, and they open in sequence over the week. The buds that are still tight when it's delivered will open one by one across the following days, so the arrangement keeps changing and filling out rather than peaking on day one and fading.
These are orientals. The pink petals have that darker freckling that makes them look more complex than a flat colour, and they're the scented variety. They will fill a room. Ingrid ordered these for her sister in law's 90th birthday and her feedback tells you everything you need to know: "She had them for 8 days and they are still lovely. I was told they even smell nice." Eight days and still going, and the fragrance strong enough that it came up unprompted.
That scent is a genuine selling point but it's worth flagging: if the recipient has scent sensitivities or is in a shared hospital ward, orientals can be a lot in a small space. Our 3 wrapped gerberas or single wrapped red rose are scentless alternatives that work well for those situations.
Why The Vase Matters
This product is $4 more than our 2 wrapped lily stems and the difference is the vase and the fact it arrives arranged and ready. That $4 solves a real problem: the recipient doesn't need to have a vase at home, doesn't need to unwrap and trim and arrange anything themselves. It's done. Particularly useful if you're sending to an office, a hospital, or to someone older who might not want to fuss with scissors and stems.
Anna spent fifteen years as a working florist before joining us, and she's particular about vase selection.
"The vase matters more than people think. Too wide and the stems splay out and flop. Too narrow and they're crushed together, competing for water. Lily stems are thick so they need a vase with enough room to breathe but enough structure to hold them upright without effort. When the florist selects the vase and arranges the stems properly, the flowers sit right from the start. That affects how they drink, how they hold their heads, and how long they last."
That's part of what you're paying for with this product. The florist does the work of matching the vase to the stems so the arrangement performs properly from the moment it arrives.
Who Orders This One
Birthdays and thank you mostly. Colleen ordered these as "long distance birthday flowers" and had them delivered on time. That's a common pattern with this product. People order from interstate, or from overseas, for someone they can't be with. The vase means the recipient doesn't need to do anything except put it on a table and enjoy it. Good for elderly recipients especially. Ingrid's sister in law turned 90 and loved them.
At $60.50 this covers two lily stems (with all those sequential buds), foliage, a glass vase, a personalised gift card, and hand delivery to their door by a partner florist on the day. Order before 2pm weekdays for same day delivery. If you want more lilies or a different style, browse our lilies category.
Care
Because this arrives already arranged in a vase, most of the preparation is done by the florist before delivery. The stems are cut, the foliage is stripped, the water level is set. All the recipient needs to do is keep the water fresh.
"Flowers that arrive at the shop at 6am shouldn't go into arrangements until at least 10. They need time to drink and stabilise after transport. A florist who arranges with stems straight off the truck is selling flowers that haven't had a chance to recover. You'll notice it in the vase life. When you order a vase arrangement from us, the florist conditions the stems first. That's hours of hydration before they even go into the vase. It's one of the reasons a florist-arranged vase outlasts something you'd put together yourself at home."
Change the water every two to three days. Lift the stems out gently, rinse the vase, refill with room temperature water, and put them back.
One thing specific to lilies: as each new bud opens, pinch off the anthers (the pollen covered parts in the centre of the bloom) with a tissue before the pollen starts to powder. Lily pollen stains everything it lands on, petals, benchtops, clothes, and it's almost impossible to remove from fabric. Removing the anthers also extends the flower's life by a few extra days because the lily keeps blooming longer when it hasn't been pollinated. Check each morning and if a new bloom has opened overnight, pinch the anthers off before you do anything else.
With proper care, expect ten days to two weeks as the buds continue opening across the arrangement. For more detail, see our guide on caring for your flowers.
Delivery
Your lilies are arranged in a glass vase and hand delivered by a real partner florist from our network of 800+ across Australia. We've been running this network since 2009. Not posted, not shipped from a warehouse. Arranged fresh, conditioned properly, and delivered on the day.
Delivery is $16.95 Australia wide. That fee is subsidised. The actual cost of getting a florist to hand deliver a glass vase to a specific address (without breaking it) is often higher, but we absorb the difference.
Same day delivery if you order before 2pm on weekdays or 10am on Saturdays. Those cutoffs are tighter on vase arrangements because the florist needs time to condition the stems, select the right vase, arrange, and route the delivery carefully. Glass vases need more care in transit than a wrapped bunch.
No Sunday deliveries. Flower markets close Saturday afternoon. Any florist delivering on a Sunday is working with Friday stock that's already lost roughly 30% of its vase life. We'd rather be upfront about that.
