Same Day Delivery - Berowra Wide
I remember the exact moment Anna corrected me. We were in the Pottsville office, that converted double garage with the aircon running too cold, and I had just finished a customer call. The order was fine. Card message confirmed, delivery address spelled back twice.
Anna was at the desk behind me and she said quietly, "You told her Gerberas would be perfect for a hospital visit."
I had. The customer wanted something bright for her mother recovering at Hornsby Hospital. Gerberas seemed right.
"Gerberas drop pollen," Anna said, not looking up. "The stamens shed onto bedsheets. Nurses hate cleaning that up. Some wards will not let them in the room."
I felt my face go hot. Three years into taking flower orders and this was something so basic. But I did not know it because I had never worked on a florist bench. Anna had. Fifteen years of it.
That afternoon I called the customer back. Suggested roses and oriental lilies instead. Told her why. She appreciated the honesty.
We hired Anna specifically because Andrew and I knew nothing about flowers when we started. We needed someone who could talk to florists as a peer. Having two actual florists on staff for those early years changed everything about how we built this business.

* The shop we bought in 2006. We knew nothing about flowers. We just knew Kingscliff felt right.
I know Berowra from the back seat of my parents' car. Every trip between Taree and Sydney in the 80s went straight through it on the old Pacific Highway, before the freeway bypassed everything. Fifty trips at least, watching the bush close in around the road, wondering how much longer until Grandma's place.
These days I know it through delivery notes. Bushy blocks. Long driveways. Houses backing onto national park. Our Hornsby florist handles the area and they know the current terrain far better than my childhood memories do.
Same day delivery is available if you order by 2pm on weekdays or 10am on Saturday. The delivery fee is $16.95. We subsidise that because running flowers up into the hills costs more than a flat suburban run, and we would rather wear some of that than price people out.

* How it works. You order, we match you with a local florist, fresh flowers arrive by hand. No Australia Post parcels.
We do not deliver on Sundays. Anna explained the reason to me years ago and it stuck: flower markets close Saturday afternoon. Anything arranged on Sunday comes from Friday stock that has already lost a third of its vase life. Our florists prefer to rest on Sunday rather than send out flowers they are not proud of.
If you are ordering for a birthday or anniversary and you are not sure what to send, our Florist's Choice at $71.95 gives the partner florist creative freedom to work with whatever is freshest and best value from the market that morning.
For sympathy deliveries, Anna always preferred whites and soft creams. "Those colours do not compete with grief," she told me once. "Bright arrangements feel wrong at a funeral. The flowers should be calm." If you need sympathy flowers sent to Berowra, our florist can coordinate timing with local funeral directors to make sure the arrangement arrives when it is meant to.
Hospital orders for Hornsby or the nearby private hospitals work best as boxed arrangements. The recipient does not need to find a vase, ask staff for scissors, or clear counter space. Everything arrives ready to sit on a bedside table. And no Gerberas dropping pollen onto freshly changed sheets.
If none of those categories fit, call us on 1300 360 469 and we can talk through options. That number goes to real people in Australia, not a call centre overseas. If budget matters, our flowers under $60 range still arrives hand delivered by a local florist.
I still think about that Gerbera conversation. It was not a big moment at the time. But that small correction represented everything I did not know and could not fake. Andrew and I started Lily's Florist in 2009 from a home office in Pottsville with zero floristry training. The actual craft of selecting stems, understanding vase life, knowing what holds up in certain environments, that belonged to people who had spent years learning it.
Anna brought fifteen years of bench work. Will, our other florist hire, had trained at some of the best shops in Sydney's CBD before his sea change to Bangalow. Between them they gave us credibility with the partner florists we were recruiting.
Today that network includes over 800 florists across Australia. Our Berowra deliveries go through a florist in Hornsby who knows the suburb, knows the winding roads that back onto the bush, understands the humid summers and the occasional frost.
One customer recently told us: "I ordered from Melbourne so took pot luck that all would go well. I was thrilled to find that from my initial phone call right through until delivery your service and professionalism was exceptional. I will certainly be using your company as my go to florist for future orders."

* Three years running now. These reviews are verified and we read every one.
Anna reads reviews like that as quality markers. When someone mentions the phone call was helpful and the delivery matched expectations, it confirms the partner florist is doing their job properly. More than 3,000 verified reviews on Feefo have earned us Trusted Service Awards for 2024, 2025, and 2026.
Contact us within 24 hours with photos of the arrangement from both sides. Email, phone, or live chat all work. If there is a problem we will fix it. Changes to existing orders can go to [email protected]. When you place an order, we route it to the partner florist best positioned to deliver to that Berowra address. The florist prepares the arrangement fresh, delivers it in their own van, and handles any notes or delivery instructions you have included.
