There may be times when our florists would need to feed flowers with drops of flower food. Bruising flowers are also removed from the bunch because they can contaminate other flowers. We remove bruised petals and trim wilting foliage. Speaking of foliage, we snap off leaves that will rest under the waterline. Doing so keeps the vase container clean and clear.

Lily’s Florist keeps the flower fresh by storing them in a cool place, away from sunlight and from heat sources. Some blooms may actually require refrigeration to allow them to last longer.

We know that a flower’s shelf life begins from our store and we’re doing what is necessary to keep our flowers fresh. Our flowers don’t sit around long so we don’t really need to do complex things to “preserve” its freshness.
