Same Day Delivery - Engadine Wide
Looking for a florist who covers Engadine? We do. Order by 2pm weekdays, 10am Saturdays. A florist in or near Engadine makes it that morning and delivers by hand the same day. Phone is 1300 360 469, or order at lilysflorist.com.au. Delivery is $16.95 (we subsidise the rest). A Starburst Bunch is $79.95 and one of our most popular picks for the Shire.
I was born in Engadine. My first home, with my parents Bill and Julie, before we moved to Taree three years later in 1976. Dad was a TAFE teacher, Mum a primary school teacher (which is an odd thing to say about somewhere you left at three years old, but there it is). Andrew and I bought a flower shop in Kingscliff in 2006, and now we coordinate over 800 partner florists across Australia. The full story is on our About Us page.
"A Stunning Bouquet" was the description from the elderly friend

"The options available were just beautiful and the price range was great. I chose the Premium sized Starbust Bunch for the colour and flower choice for an elderly friend's 90th Birthday. She loved..."
She chose the product, named the occasion, and told us what the recipient said. A 90th birthday with the Premium Starburst. Good pick.
Order before 2pm today and it's there this afternoon. Browse 90th birthday flowers or let the florist pick with a Florist's Choice Bunch from $74.50.
The first question I get from people who know a bit about flowers is which stems last longest. Fair enough. But the answer changes depending on where the arrangement ends up sitting. North-facing windows in Engadine get hammered with light. All that sandstone and bush reflects it back. Red pigments bleach out of petals within a couple of days on a sunny sill. Reds fade to washed-out pink. Purples lose their depth.
The pigments responsible are called anthocyanins. UV light breaks them down. Think of it like a red car parked in the sun. Same thing, except flowers do it in two days instead of ten years. Put them somewhere the sun does not hit directly. Hallway table, dining room, kitchen bench.
I used to tell customers this over the phone at Pottsville and half the time they had never thought about it. One woman from Wollongong rang back three days after her order arrived and said the red roses had gone pink. Turned out she had put them right on her east-facing windowsill. Moved them to the kitchen and the remaining buds opened properly. The florist did nothing wrong. Placement did all the damage.
If someone in Engadine is ordering for a house near the Royal National Park, the light can be strong and clear, especially in summer. Tell the recipient to keep the arrangement somewhere cool and shaded. They will get an extra three or four days out of it. That is a lot of flowers saved by knowing where to put them.
Stock for Engadine comes through the Flemington Markets. A partner florist close to the area picks stems that morning, builds your order by hand, and runs the delivery along the Princes Highway corridor through the Shire. Hours old by the time they reach the door, not days old from a warehouse interstate.

This is what happens after you click 'order'. A florist covering Engadine makes it from scratch.
Engadine has a Lions Club fete that has run every year since 1988 and streets named after World War I battles. People stay. If you are sending flowers here, a birthday bunch or something to say you are thinking of them will land well with a florist who understands the Shire.
Whites, creams, muted greens. That palette does the work without competing with how people feel. Our sympathy flowers are put together with that in mind. I have taken orders where the caller does not know what to say on the card. Normal. The flowers carry the message when words fall short. If the service is at Woronora Memorial Park or one of the chapels in the area, timing matters. Order early and give the florist room to coordinate.
Engadine is full of young families, and new baby flowers go out here regularly. My advice: keep it fuss-free. New parents do not have time for high-maintenance arrangements. Nothing with loose pollen (it stains everything), nothing strongly scented around a newborn. The closest maternity ward is Sutherland Hospital in Caringbah, and if you are sending there, in our experience they tend to prefer boxed arrangements that do not need a vase.
No specific occasion, no pressure to get the "right" thing. Thinking of you flowers work because the gesture is the point. I had a caller once from Adelaide who could not explain why she wanted to send flowers to someone in Sydney. She just missed her friend. That was enough. The florist put together something seasonal with warm tones and the recipient rang back saying it made her whole week. You do not need a reason.
I tell people this all the time: if you cannot decide, let the florist decide. A Florist's Choice Bunch at $74.50 gives them room to work with whatever looks best that morning. The Deal of the Day Bunch at $75.25 gives even more room. Or start with flowers under $60 if budget is tight. Same care, smaller bunch.
Phone: 1300 360 469 or order at lilysflorist.com.au. Our team is Australian based, six days a week.
Same day cutoff is 2pm weekdays, 10am Saturdays. Stems need time in water before they go anywhere. Rush that and the flowers will not last the week. Orders after 2pm go out the next business day.
No Sunday delivery. The markets are closed on Sunday. Saturday stock loses condition by Sunday afternoon, and we would rather skip a day than send something that will not last the week. Monday morning is when fresh stock comes through.
Delivery is $16.95. The real cost is usually more than that. Engadine is a decent drive from most florist shops and we wear the difference. Order before 2pm and it arrives today.

We match your order to one of our partner florists in or close to Engadine based on availability and delivery area. They handle the rest. Most same day orders are at the door within a few hours of the florist finishing the build.
Most of Engadine is houses. Big blocks, driveways, front doors you can actually get to. Easier than delivering to a tower block in Hurstville. The main thing florists watch for here is the hilly terrain near Woronora Road and the streets backing onto the national park. Access is usually fine, but properties tucked into the bush can take a few extra minutes to reach.
Something not right? Snap a photo from both sides and get in touch within 24 hours. Email is [email protected], phone is 1300 360 469. We look at every complaint individually. We are not perfect. Flowers are a natural product and occasionally things do not land the way anyone expected. When that happens, we sort it out.
Most orders land well. Order before 2pm today and it's there this afternoon.
