Same-day delivery gets ordered after lunch constantly. People see the 2pm cutoff, assume noon is fine, and don't factor in where the arrangement is actually going. Van interiors hit forty-five degrees in that 12pm to 3pm slot on a hot summer day. Cut flowers respire faster in heat. I'd add a little soft green foliage for depth and nothing else loud. I've done sympathy arrangements where the customer wanted burgundy and orange because that's what the person loved. That can work. But for someone who doesn't know the family's preferences, white and cream is the safe call.
Thank you flowers that won't need attention

Glenworth Valley is roughly 20 minutes from Gosford Hospital. Get well orders from this area often go to patients there, or to people recovering at home post-discharge on acreage properties. For hospital deliveries, ask about ward restrictions before you order. Lilies are frequently banned outright because the pollen stains linen and the scent affects patients with respiratory conditions. Gerberas, spray roses, and chrysanthemums are low-VOC alternatives that most wards allow and that don't require the patient to do anything on arrival. For home recovery, the same logic applies if the person is resting or managing post-surgical fatigue.
Hospital ward policies have tightened over the years. Lilies are the obvious one. The pollen stains everything it touches and the scent is strong enough to make a nauseous patient worse. Scent is the broader issue. I'd stick to gerberas, chrysanthemums, or roses for any medical delivery. They look good, they don't drop pollen, and no nurse is going to walk them back out the door. For someone recovering at home, loose petals falling into the bedding are also a problem. A boxed arrangement in foam sidesteps all of it. Place it on the bedside table, no vase needed, no scissors, no maintenance.
