Flowers to Norah Head, Delivered Fresh Since 2009

Fresh flowers, built by a local florist, delivered to Norah Head the same day. Order by 2pm weekdays or 10am Saturdays and a partner florist in the Central Coast area will put your arrangement together from that morning's stock and handle the delivery personally. Call us on 1300 360 469 or order right here on the site. We're Lily's Florist, Australian family owned since 2006. Delivery is $16.95, which we subsidise because the actual cost of getting a florist to your door is often more than that.

I'm Andrew. Siobhan and I have been sending flowers to the Central Coast for years. I've driven past the turnoff to Norah Head lighthouse more times than I can count on trips between our place in Kingscliff and family in Sydney. We bought a small flower shop in 2006 against our accountant's advice, with a baby due and zero experience in flowers. That shop became a network of over 800 partner florists across Australia. The long version is on our About Us page.

Anna | How colour works in grief Qualified florist, 15+ years on the bench

I've worked at the sharp end of floristry for over fifteen years, across two countries and hundreds of thousands of stems. When I talk about sympathy flowers, it comes from a specific moment early in my career. I made a sympathy arrangement with bright yellows and warm oranges because the customer said the person who passed had loved those colours. Reasonable enough.

When I delivered it, the house was full of white and cream arrangements from other florists. Mine looked out of place. Not wrong exactly, but loud in a room that needed quiet. I remember standing there thinking, the customer asked for it and I gave them what they asked for, but I should have explained why florists lean toward muted tones for sympathy. Whites, soft creams, gentle greens. Those colours give the room permission to be still. Bright colours compete with grief. They pull the eye when nobody in the room wants their eye pulled anywhere.

That moment changed how I approached every sympathy order after it. I started asking more questions and steering toward palettes that would sit comfortably alongside other tributes in the room. In Norah Head, where the population skews older and sympathy flowers are a more regular part of life, that kind of guidance from a qualified florist matters. The partner florists Lily's works with on the Central Coast understand this. Stock from Flemington Markets reaches them fresh, and the stems they choose for sympathy work reflect years of doing it thoughtfully.

When your flowers arrive at Norah Head, they were built that day. A partner florist in the Central Coast area selected the stems, cut them at an angle under water so air doesn't block the xylem, conditioned them for at least an hour in treated water, and assembled your flowers to order. Nobody boxes flowers in a warehouse and ships them overnight. A real person in a real shop did the work, and they drove it to the door themselves.

What to Send to Norah Head

Norah Head is a mix of long term residents, retirees, and families with holiday houses near the headland. The reasons people send flowers here vary, but a few occasions come up more than others.

Birthday flowers for someone in Norah Head?

If you know what they like, tell us. If you don't, let the florist decide. Browse our birthday flowers for ideas, or go with the Deal of the Day at $73.95 and give the florist room to work with what's in season.

Anna, qualified florist: When I pick stems for a birthday order, I'm checking bloom stage before anything else. Gerberas should have a firm centre disc. If you press it gently and it gives, that flower is past peak and the recipient loses two days of vase life. Oriental lilies should still have closed buds so the person gets to watch them open over the week. Spray roses I check for petal count and guard petal condition. A florist working with freedom picks from what passed these checks earlier in the day, which is why florist's choice almost always outperforms a rigid menu order.
Sending sympathy flowers to Norah Head?

Timing matters with sympathy. If it's for a funeral service, the florist coordinates with the funeral director so the arrangement arrives before guests, not after. For a home delivery, colour and shape do the work. Our sympathy flowers are built with that understanding.

For sympathy I reach for disbuds, white roses, and ruscus foliage as my base. Disbuds are single headed chrysanthemums with a large, soft face that anchors the piece without looking rigid. I keep the shape low and rounded. Height draws the eye, and in a room full of people who are grieving, you don't want your flowers commanding attention. A low, rounded design sits quietly on a table and lets the room breathe. If spray roses are good that day I'll add those for texture, but the structure stays gentle.
Get well flowers near Norah Head?

Wyong Hospital and the Long Jetty Healthcare Centre both serve the Norah Head area. Hospital rooms have no vase, no scissors, and limited bench space, so a boxed arrangement is the practical choice. It arrives ready to display. Have a look at our get well flowers for options that work in medical settings.

I took a call around 2011 from a woman in Ballarat who wanted to send stargazer lilies to her mum in hospital. Her mum loved stargazers. I had to slow her down and explain what stargazers actually do in a hospital room. The pollen drops onto bed linen and leaves orange stains that don't wash out. The scent is strong enough to trigger nausea in patients on pain medication or chemotherapy drugs. Some wards ban lilies outright for those reasons. I suggested gerberas instead. No loose pollen, no heavy scent, and the colour range is wide enough that you can still make something vibrant and personal. She went with a mix of hot pink and orange gerberas with some green chrysanthemums, and her mum rang us the next day to say they were the brightest thing in the ward. I still think about that call when people ask for lilies going to a hospital.
Not sure what to send?

Most people aren't, and that's fine. Our Deal of the Day at $73.95 gives the florist full creative freedom with the best stems available. If you're watching the budget, we also have flowers under $60 that are smaller in size but made with the same care and the same fresh stock.

Florist's choice orders are where good florists do their best work. They're not grabbing whatever is closest. They're looking at what came off the truck fresh, which stems are at ideal bloom stage, and building a colour palette that holds together. In winter that might mean a base of white chrysanthemums with deep burgundy roses and eucalyptus foliage. In summer it could be bright dahlias, sunflowers, and native wax flower. The result reflects what the season is actually producing, and that always looks more alive than forcing a fixed recipe with stems that were shipped in from the wrong climate zone.

How to Order Flowers to Norah Head

Order online or call 1300 360 469 during business hours: Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm, Saturday 7am to 12pm. Our team is Australian based and can help you choose if you're stuck.

Same day delivery: order by 2pm weekdays or 10am Saturdays. Those cutoffs exist because the florist needs at least two hours to source the stems, condition them in water so they're properly hydrated, and then build and deliver your flowers. Rushing that process costs vase life. Flowers that skip conditioning lose days off their lifespan, not hours.

No Sunday delivery. Flower markets close Saturday afternoon. Any florist delivering on Sunday would be using Friday stock, which has already lost roughly 30% of its vase life before it reaches the vase. We'd rather be honest about that than offer a service that disappoints when the petals drop two days early.

Delivery is $16.95. We subsidise that. The actual cost of a florist loading a van, driving to Norah Head, and delivering by hand is usually more. We absorb the difference because we want the total price to stay reasonable.

After You Order

The sequence is short. You place the order. We match it to a partner florist in or close to Norah Head based on their delivery range, current capacity, and the product you've chosen. They source fresh stock from Flemington or local Central Coast wholesale supply, put your flowers together that day, and run the delivery themselves. You'll get a confirmation from us with the florist's expected delivery window. We coordinate the florist. We don't touch the flowers.

If something goes wrong, let us know within 24 hours. That window matters because it's when we can act quickly with the partner florist and resolve it properly. Take a photo of the arrangement and a photo of any outer packaging, then contact us by email at [email protected], by phone on 1300 360 469, or through live chat on the website. We work through it with you.

Siobhan and I bought a flower shop in Kingscliff in 2006. Our accountant told us not to. We had a baby due in seven months, no experience with flowers, and a shop that looked like 1979. We backed ourselves anyway. An old Yellow Pages ad that came with the shop started ringing constantly with flower delivery requests we couldn't fill locally, and that accident became the foundation of what Lily's Florist is now. We built a network of partner florists, one phone call at a time, starting with a small shop in Murwillumbah in 2009. That network has grown to over 800 florists across Australia. Most of our business decisions still happen at the dinner table or walking our dog Bindi on the beach. The full story, including all the wrong turns, is on our About Us page.
