Description

Red hydrangea, pink oriental lilies, preserved oak leaves, and red hypericum berries tied with a red organza ribbon bow, hand tied and delivered by a partner florist on the day. From $99.95 with same day delivery if you order before 2pm weekdays or 10am Saturdays. Vase not included.

The photo shows the Premium size (+$40). Your bunch will follow the same rich red, pink, and brown Christmas palette. The exact flower types and foliage may vary depending on seasonal availability. This is a hand tied presentation bouquet delivered without a vase.

What's In The Bunch

A red hydrangea head sits at the centre of the arrangement, large and dense, carrying dozens of individual florets in a single cluster. Pink oriental lilies, one or two blooms with darker pink speckling across the petals, rise above and behind. Dark brown preserved oak leaves, the kind that curl at the edges and catch the light with a matte finish, frame the whole arrangement with an autumn warmth that reads unmistakably as Christmas in Australia. Red hypericum berry clusters sit between the flowers like decorations on a tree. Smaller pink and red blooms fill the gaps. A red organza ribbon ties it all together at the stems.

This looks nothing like any other product in the range. The preserved oak leaves and the red ribbon make it a gift that reads as Christmas the moment the door opens. No guessing the occasion. No ambiguity. The person who receives this knows exactly what it means and when it was sent.

Gloria called it "beautiful." Annette Gee's was "a last minute order for a very busy day yet the flowers were beautiful and delivered in good time." Christmas Eve and the days leading up to it are the most chaotic delivery window of the year for any florist. Annette's order landing on time during that period tells you the partner florist network handles peak pressure.

A Seasonal Product

This bunch sits near the bottom of the overall range for annual sales. Anna has spent over fifteen years in professional floristry, from early morning market sourcing to building arrangements that sell on a shop floor. She knows why seasonal products occupy a different category from evergreen bestsellers.

A Anna Qualified Florist, 15+ Years

"Ranking a Christmas product against the full year range is like judging a winter coat in July. This bunch has a selling window of about four to six weeks, from late November to Christmas Eve. The rest of the year it barely registers. But during those weeks, the people who find it know exactly what they're looking for. They've decided they want something that says Christmas specifically, not just flowers that happen to be red. The preserved oak leaves, the ribbon, the berry clusters, those elements signal a season. You can't send this in March. You wouldn't want to. That specificity is exactly what makes it effective as a Christmas gift but invisible in the annual sales data. Every sale this product gets happens in a compressed window, and the customer behind each one has actively chosen a Christmas arrangement over a general bunch. That intent makes the conversion rate during its season much higher than the annual ranking suggests."

Sizing

Three sizes. Standard at $99.95. Deluxe at +$15 adds more stems across the arrangement. Premium at +$40 is the one in the photo, the fullest version with the largest hydrangea head and more lily blooms.

The pricing increments on this product are +$15 and +$40, larger than most bunches in the range. Red hydrangea is an expensive flower at market, and the preserved oak leaves are a specialty item that costs more than standard green foliage. The price reflects the seasonal components.

No Extra Large option. Premium is the fullest version available.

Vase is not included. This arrives as a hand tied presentation bouquet with the ribbon. We sell flowers with vases separately. For a Christmas bunch, a dark red or burgundy vase extends the palette. Clear glass works too and shows the stems gathered under the ribbon. For a complete Christmas gift with wine included, our Oriental Bunch and White Wine at $98.90 pairs lilies with a bottle.

Who Sends This One

Heather ordered on Christmas Eve. Annette Gee ordered just before Christmas, a "last minute order" that arrived "in good time." Terry is a repeat customer: "have used a number of times now." When someone comes back to the same seasonal product across multiple years, the product is reliable enough to build a tradition around.

Christmas is the primary occasion. This bunch suits a host gift when you're arriving at someone's home for Christmas lunch. It works as a delivery to family interstate when you can't be there in person. For thank you gifts to teachers, carers, or anyone who's helped through the year, the Christmas specific design adds seasonal thoughtfulness to the gesture.

The red and brown palette also crosses into birthday territory for anyone born in late November or December. A birthday bunch that acknowledges the season without being generic is hard to find, and this one does it. For something less seasonally specific but still red, our red flowers range offers year round options. For romance at Christmas, the red reads as both festive and romantic.

This bunch contains oriental lilies. Lilies are toxic to cats. If the recipient has cats, browse our Christmas hampers range for lily free gift options, or consider our Bright Mixed Gerberas at $80.75 paired with a Christmas card message.

The Red Hydrangea

A Anna Qualified Florist, 15+ Years

"Hydrangea is one of the most demanding cut flowers to work with. The head is enormous compared to the stem, which means it's top heavy and uses water at an extraordinary rate. A hydrangea stem can drain a vase faster than any other flower I've worked with. If the water drops below the stem base for even an hour, the head wilts and it's very difficult to recover. That's why florists who work with hydrangea well are good florists. You can't be careless with it. But when it's properly conditioned and kept hydrated, a single red hydrangea head fills space that would take five or six roses to cover. One stem does the work of half a dozen. In a Christmas arrangement that's already using specialty stems like preserved oak leaves and berries, that volume from a single bloom is what makes the bunch feel substantial without needing twenty stems."

The preserved oak leaves are the detail that separates this from a red bunch with a ribbon added. Fresh flowers say "gift." Preserved leaves say "someone thought about this." The leaves hold their colour and shape indefinitely, which means the recipient can keep them after the fresh flowers are finished. Pressed between the pages of a book or displayed in a frame, they're a memento from a Christmas gift that outlasts the season.

Care

When the bunch arrives, unwrap it and place the stems in a vase immediately. Hydrangea needs water urgently after transport. Fill the vase to at least three quarters full and check the water level daily. Top up between changes. The hydrangea will drink more than every other flower in the arrangement combined.

Trim all stems at a forty five degree angle with sharp scissors. For the hydrangea specifically, some florists recommend a cross cut at the base, splitting the stem vertically with a knife for about two centimetres, to increase water uptake. If the hydrangea head starts to wilt, submerge the entire head in cool water for thirty minutes. It can often recover through the petals absorbing water directly.

Remove the lily pollen anthers from each bloom as it opens. Lily pollen stains and the yellow powder on red hydrangea petals is visible and hard to remove. The lily fragrance will build as buds open over the first week.

The preserved oak leaves and hypericum berries require no care. The leaves last indefinitely. The berries hold for two to three weeks before shrivelling.

Delivery

Your bunch is hand tied and delivered by a real partner florist from our network of 800+ across Australia. We've coordinated deliveries through this network since 2009. Made fresh on the day from market stock and hand delivered to the door.

Delivery is $16.95 Australia wide. That fee is subsidised. The actual cost of getting a florist to hand deliver to a specific address is often higher, but we absorb the difference.

Same day delivery if you order before 2pm on weekdays or 10am on Saturdays. Christmas Eve is a Saturday most years, so the 10am cutoff applies. Order early. The partner florist network is at peak volume during Christmas week and earlier orders get priority scheduling.

No Sunday deliveries. No Christmas Day deliveries. If Christmas falls on a Sunday, order for delivery on the Saturday before.

Need to change something after ordering? Email [email protected], call us on 1300 360 469 (Mon to Fri, 7am to 6pm, Sat 7am to 12pm), or use live chat. If something isn't right with the delivery, get in touch within 24 hours with a photo and we'll sort it out.

Substitution Policy

This arrangement uses seasonal and specialty components. Red hydrangea is available through Australian summer but supply tightens during peak Christmas demand when every florist in the country wants red flowers at the same time. If red hydrangea isn't available, the florist may substitute with a large red rose cluster or red carnation grouping to maintain the volume and colour at the centre. Pink oriental lilies are reliably available. The preserved oak leaves are a specialty item sourced separately from fresh flowers. If preserved leaves aren't available, the florist may use other preserved or dried foliage in brown or burgundy tones. The red hypericum berries are seasonal and may be substituted with red ilex berries or similar. What the florist protects is the Christmas character: red, brown, and pink with textural variety, seasonal elements, and the ribbon presentation. Any substitution will be of equal or greater value. If specific elements matter to you, call 1300 360 469 and we'll confirm availability before the order ships.
