The most red thing in the range, amplified. Deep crimson roses with green spider chrysanthemums and red hypericum berries. The green makes the red practically vibrate. Complementary colours sitting opposite each other on the colour wheel, each making the other more vivid. Elizabeth confirmed colours were "exactly like the picture." Amy ordered from overseas and called it "perfect with gorgeous roses and lush foliage." The spider chrysanthemums outlast the roses by a full week, so when the roses finish you've got a completely different green arrangement that stands on its own. $105.95 single size. Hand tied and delivered same day by a partner florist. $16.95 delivery. Order before 2pm weekdays.

Description

Red roses, green spider chrysanthemums, and red hypericum berries with dark green foliage, hand tied and delivered by a partner florist on the day. $105.95 with same day delivery if you order before 2pm weekdays or 10am Saturdays. No lilies, no fragrance. Vase not included.

This is a single size product at $105.95. Your bunch will follow the same red and green colour palette. The exact number of stems and the proportion of roses to chrysanthemums may vary depending on what's freshest at market on the day. The vase shown is for display purposes and is not included.

What's In The Bunch

Red and green, high contrast, nothing subtle about it. Deep crimson roses, six or seven medium blooms at different stages of opening. Green spider chrysanthemums, three or four large spiky heads in vivid lime green, each one a starburst of narrow petals radiating outward. Red hypericum berry clusters dotted throughout, small and round and bright, adding a texture neither the roses nor the chrysanthemums can provide. Dark green broad leaves fill the base.

The colour combination is bold. Red and green together is the highest contrast pairing in floristry because the colours sit directly opposite each other on the colour wheel. Each makes the other more vivid. The red roses look redder next to the green chrysanthemums, and the green looks more electric next to the crimson. Elizabeth confirmed the "colours were beautiful exactly like the picture on your website." When the colour accuracy holds from screen to delivery on a high contrast arrangement like this, the florist sourced well.

Amy "organised flowers for a friend's birthday online from overseas and was delighted with the result. The mixed red bunch was perfect with gorgeous roses and lush foliage." Ordering from overseas and getting what you expected is a higher bar than ordering domestically, and Amy cleared it.

A Specialist Choice

This bunch sits near the bottom of the annual sales range. Anna has spent over fifteen years working in professional floristry, selecting stems at markets across two countries and reading the commercial patterns behind customer choices. She knows why a red and green product occupies a different space from a standard red bunch.

A Anna Qualified Florist, 15+ Years

"Red and green together triggers a Christmas association in most people's heads, even when the product has nothing to do with Christmas. That's the first obstacle. A customer browsing in March sees red roses and green chrysanthemums and their brain says 'festive.' They scroll past because it doesn't match the occasion they're shopping for. The second obstacle is the green spider chrysanthemums. People shopping for red flowers want red flowers. Green feels like an intrusion, a filler, something the florist added because they ran out of red. But florists know that green chrysanthemums are the best companion for red roses because of that complementary colour theory. Without the green, the arrangement is beautiful but flat. With it, the red practically vibrates. This product performs well with people who trust colour theory over instinct, or people who have seen red and green together in person and understood immediately. The screen just can't replicate the intensity of that contrast."

The Price

$105.95. Single size, no options. This is the most expensive bunch in the range without a vase or wine included.

The price reflects the rose count. Six to seven red roses at premium market grade, plus green spider chrysanthemums, plus red hypericum berries. Red roses are consistently among the most expensive stems at market, and spider chrysanthemums cost more than standard bloom chrysanthemums because the growing conditions for the spiky petal formation are more demanding.

Joy sent this as a "gift for 70th." When someone chooses a $105.95 single size product for a milestone birthday, they're making a deliberate statement about the occasion. A 70th deserves something that doesn't come with a size selector. It's the arrangement, complete, as the florist intended.

Vase is not included. We sell flowers with vases separately. For red and green, a clear glass vase keeps the focus on the colour contrast. A matte black vase creates the most dramatic backdrop. The green stems visible through clear glass add another layer of green that extends the colour story below the arrangement.

About Hester's Review

Hester ordered for same day delivery before the 2pm cutoff and received a phone call saying they couldn't deliver that day. The surprise for her friend Esmè was compromised because Hester had to arrange for her to be home on a different day.

Same day delivery relies on the partner florist having stock, capacity, and a viable route to the delivery address. In rare cases, a specific delivery can't be completed on the day. When that happens, the team contacts the sender to rearrange. It's not the experience we want, but the alternative, accepting the order and failing to deliver without warning, is worse. Hester deserved better, and we understand the frustration of a surprise that had to be improvised.

Hester also asked for a complimentary upgrade to Deluxe. This is a single size product with no upgrade tiers. If you're ordering and timing is critical, call 1300 360 469 before placing the order. The Armidale team can check with the partner florist whether same day delivery is achievable for your specific address before you commit.

Who Sends This One

Lorna said "her favourite colour is red." That's the simplest reason anyone sends this bunch. If the recipient loves red, this is the most red thing in the range. Not red alone, which you'd get with our 6 Red Roses at $85.95. Red amplified by green, which makes every red element more vivid than it would be on its own.

Birthday is the primary use. Joy sent it for a 70th. For a 80th or 60th, the single size removes the decision and the price signals significance. Valentine's Day works if the sender wants red without defaulting to roses only. The green spider chrysanthemums make it a more interesting Valentine's gift than a standard dozen.

For romance and anniversaries, the red carries the message and the green keeps it from reading as predictable. Christmas is a natural fit for the colour palette, and during December the red and green association works for the product rather than against it.

No lilies, no fragrance, safe for homes with cats. For red flowers with more variety, browse our red flowers range. For green chrysanthemums in a different palette, our Gorgeous Whites at $80.95 uses them alongside white roses and lilies.

The Green Spider Chrysanthemums

A Anna Qualified Florist, 15+ Years

"Spider chrysanthemums are a line flower. That means they create visual direction in an arrangement because of the way the narrow petals extend outward like rays. In this bunch the spiders do something specific. The roses are round, compact, layered. Every petal folds inward. The spiders do the exact opposite. Every petal reaches outward. So you have two flower types with opposing energy in the same arrangement. One pulling in, one pushing out. The tension between those two shapes is what makes this bunch feel dynamic rather than static. A rose only arrangement is beautiful but it sits still. Add spider chrysanthemums and the whole thing feels like it's in motion. They also outlast the roses by about a week. When the roses start to drop petals around day ten, the green spiders will still be holding their shape and colour. Pull the roses out and the remaining green chrysanthemums with the berries is a completely different arrangement that stands on its own for another week."

The red hypericum berries add a third texture at a different scale. Small, round, clustered tightly on short stems. They sit between the large rose heads and the spiky chrysanthemum rays, filling the mid ground with detail that rewards a closer look. Hypericum holds well in the vase and doesn't shed.

Care

When the bunch arrives, unwrap it, trim all stems at a forty five degree angle with sharp scissors, and strip every leaf below the waterline. Room temperature water for the first fill, about two thirds of the vase. Change it every two to three days.

The roses will last seven to twelve days. The spider chrysanthemums will last fourteen to eighteen days, often longer. The hypericum berries hold for two to three weeks before shrivelling. As the roses fade, remove them. The chrysanthemums and berries carry the vase on their own with a completely different look.

Keep the vase away from the fruit bowl. Both roses and chrysanthemums are sensitive to ethylene gas. A cool spot with indirect light gives the longest display. Direct afternoon sun will fade the rose pigment faster than the chrysanthemum green.

Delivery

Your bunch is hand tied and delivered by a real partner florist from our network of 800+ across Australia. We've coordinated deliveries through this network since 2009. Made fresh on the day from market stock and hand delivered to the door.

Delivery is $16.95 Australia wide. That fee is subsidised. The actual cost of getting a florist to hand deliver to a specific address is often higher, but we absorb the difference.

Same day delivery if you order before 2pm on weekdays or 10am on Saturdays. Lorna confirmed "delivery was quick." No Sunday deliveries. Flower markets close Saturday afternoon. If timing is critical, call us before ordering on 1300 360 469 to confirm availability with the partner florist.

Need to change something after ordering? Email [email protected], call us on 1300 360 469 (Mon to Fri, 7am to 6pm, Sat 7am to 12pm), or use live chat. If something isn't right with the delivery, get in touch within 24 hours with a photo and we'll sort it out.

Substitution Policy

Red roses are available every day of the year. Green spider chrysanthemums are widely stocked but the exact variety and shade of green can shift between vivid lime and a darker forest green depending on what's at market. If green spiders aren't available, the florist may substitute with green Kermit chrysanthemums (round ball shaped rather than spiky) or green trick dianthus. The red hypericum berries are seasonal and may be replaced with red ilex berries or small red spray roses to maintain the red detail at berry scale. What the florist protects is the red and green contrast, the mix of round and spiky textures, and the overall bold high contrast character. Any substitution will be of equal or greater value. Call 1300 360 469 if you want specific flowers included or excluded.

Gift for 70th. Easy to navigate with heaps of choice and options. Order ref: 512996
The bunch of roses my friend, Esmè, received was very lovely (she sent me a photo). A lady phoned me to inform me that they can't deliver the same day (I phoned in advanced of 2 pm). That made it a bit difficult. I needed to arrange for Esmè to be at home, without her telling about the surprise flowers. I already knew that she will be at home that same afternoon. I would like to be offered a deluxe package without the extra cost. Unfortunately, it wasn't a surprise anymore for Esmè. Order ref: 291681
