Kingscliff Flowers, Hand Made and Delivered Same Day

If you are sending flowers to someone in Kingscliff and you are not here yourself, this is probably the only flower delivery page on the internet written by someone who actually lives here. My name is Siobhan, I co-own Lily's Florist with Andrew, and Kingscliff is where we live. Our office is on Pearl Street at Kingscliff Central. Our kids went to school here. We do our weekly shop at Woolworths, bank at the Commonwealth Bank downstairs, and eat at Zanzibar more often than we probably should. When I say we know Kingscliff, I mean we walk these streets every single day.

We bought a flower shop on Marine Parade in 2006. It is now called Kingscliff Surf, and every time we walk past it we still think about that first afternoon when we saw the For Sale sign in the window. What grew from that one shop now reaches every corner of the country, but the headquarters never left. We are still here.

Kingscliff flower delivery from $42.95 + $16.95 delivery. Order before 2pm weekdays or 10am Saturdays for same day delivery.

Eight Bestsellers to Kingscliff, and Why They Work Here

Anna, qualified florist. Before joining us, she worked at Pollen at Salt here in Kingscliff. 15+ years on the bench, 10,000 calls from our Pottsville office, and she still lives three kilometres down the road in Casuarina. The eight below are our most ordered products across the country, and each one holds up in Kingscliff's subtropical humidity and salt air. If the flowers are heading to Tweed Valley Hospital, the first four travel well in foam or water. For a doorstep anywhere from Marine Parade to Kings Forest, all eight work.

Florists Choice Bright Mixed Bunch

Anna: 321 reviews at 4.5 stars. The florist builds from whatever came in strongest at Rocklea that morning. In Kingscliff's humidity, that latitude is the quality mechanism. They pick stems that survive the coast instead of chasing a photo with stock that wilts on the drive from the cool room.

Rose Gerbera and Lilies Bunch
Rose, Gerbera & Lilies Bunch

Anna: Three stem types that fade at different rates. The gerberas peak on day one, the roses carry days four through seven, and the lily buds are still cracking open on day nine. In a warm Kingscliff living room, the staged fade gives the recipient a week of changing colour instead of everything collapsing at once.

Anna: Banksia, protea, leucadendron. Built for Australian conditions and indifferent to Kingscliff's salt air. Protea drinks heavily but the woody stems resist the bacterial collapse that kills softer flowers in humidity. Two weeks minimum, often longer.

Anna: Flowers plus chocolates plus a soft toy in a gift box. For Tweed Valley Hospital where bedside space is limited and the patient might be moved between wards, the box format stays intact. The chocolates get shared with nurses. Works for birthdays, get well, and new baby without needing to guess which one.

Anna: Gerberas, Asiatic lilies, roses, and stock in a clear glass vase. Arrives ready, no hunting for a vessel. The Asiatics are scentless, which matters for hospital wards where Oriental lilies get flagged. The stock adds fragrance at home where you actually want it.

Bright Arrangement With Chocolates
Bright Arrangement With Chocolates

Anna: Box arrangement in floral foam. The foam reservoir holds 24-48 hours of water without attention. For a Kingscliff doorstep in January where nobody is home until 5pm, the foam buys time that a hand-tied bunch in cellophane cannot. The recipient pours water in every second day and it keeps drinking.

Colourful Bunch Including Chocolates

Anna: Our biggest seller nationally across the entire range. The chocolates turn flowers from a gesture into a proper gift. For aged care at Feros Village or Uniting Kingscliff, where staff accept deliveries at reception and bring them to the room, the chocolates give the resident something in their hands while the flowers are being arranged.

Anna: 551 reviews at 4.5 stars. No recipe. The florist picks from what is freshest and builds around it. In subtropical conditions the latitude works in the customer's favour because the florist selects stems that tolerate humidity instead of forcing something that photographs well but collapses by day three.

Humidity, Closed Apartments, and What Goes Wrong on the Tweed Coast

Anna, Qualified Florist

Before I joined Lily's Florist, I worked at Pollen at Salt here in Kingscliff. I built arrangements with stems that came through Rocklea to a cool room five minutes from the beach. When I started processing orders from the Pottsville office in 2010, I already knew what this coast does to cut flowers. Over the next three years I processed more than ten thousand orders, hundreds of those heading to Kingscliff, Casuarina, and the surrounding Tweed suburbs. The pattern was consistent: orders placed by people interstate, flowers going to someone in an apartment or retirement village, and a gap between what the sender expected and what the recipient experienced. The gap was not quality. The gap was environment.

Kingscliff apartments on the beachside, east of Tweed Coast Road, tend to run warm and still in summer. Windows closed against the salt. No cross-breeze. I have seen arrangements develop grey mould in forty-eight hours in those conditions. Botrytis cinerea, the grey mould fungus, thrives in warm, stagnant air above 80% humidity. The fix is not a different flower. The fix is five minutes of airflow a day. Put the arrangement somewhere with a cross-breeze, even if that means not on the kitchen bench where you wanted it. Five minutes of moving air adds three days of vase life. Most people do not know this because nobody tells them.

The callers who rang about Kingscliff often asked two things. First: can you deliver to the apartments at Salt? Yes. The florist coordinates with the concierge at Mantra and Peppers. Second: can you deliver to the hospital? When I was taking calls, the hospital was in Tweed Heads. Now it is Tweed Valley Hospital, five minutes from Kingscliff on Cudgen Road. 430 beds, opened May 2024. The process is reception drop-off. Flowers go to the patient desk, staff log them, and they reach the bedside within thirty minutes to three hours depending on ward activity. Include the ward and bed number in your order notes.

How Flower Delivery to Kingscliff Works

Your flowers are not sitting in a warehouse. A florist in Tweed Heads or Banora Point receives your order, walks to their cool room, and builds your arrangement from stems that came through the Rocklea wholesale market in Brisbane. The drive from market to cool room is roughly two hours. By the time the florist is wrapping your flowers, those stems have been in water and refrigeration since before sunrise.

This is how an order moves through our network, from your screen to a florist's bench to someone's door in Kingscliff.

What to Send to Kingscliff

You have probably already seen something above that works. The part most people get stuck on is not which flowers to choose. It is the details: where do the flowers go, what do you write on the card, and when should they arrive. We have lived in Kingscliff long enough to know that most of the flowers heading here are for milestones and for loss, because the people who live here are settled and ageing and their families are often somewhere else. If none of the occasions below match yours, the thinking of you range covers the gaps.

Sending Sympathy Flowers on the Tweed Coast

Someone in Kingscliff has died and you are probably not here. Flowers are not going to fix anything and you already know that. They are the thing you can do from where you are. The first decision is whether the flowers are for the home or for a funeral service, and if you are not sure, sending to the home is always safe.

For a funeral service, the flowers go to the funeral director with the date and time of the service. In our experience, funeral flowers to Tweed Heads Memorial Gardens on Kirkwood Road or Melaleuca Station in Chinderah need to arrive the morning of the service. Include the name of the deceased, the date, and the time. Beautifully Wyld on Kingscliff Street handles local farewells and tends to be more flexible on timing because they are smaller and communication is direct. For sympathy flowers to the home, include the full name and address. Condolence flowers can arrive any time within three days of the service. There is no rush and no wrong day. If you are stuck on the card message, "Thinking of you and your family" says enough.

Anna, 15+ years qualified florist

Colour matters for sympathy and it is not always white. Catholic services at St Anthony's on Pearl Street tend toward white and cream. But celebration-of-life services on the Tweed Coast have shifted noticeably toward bright, personal arrangements. I processed hundreds of sympathy orders and the split was roughly 60/40, white versus colour, by the time I left the phones. If you do not know the family's preference, soft pastels cover both registers without committing to either.

Hospital Flowers to Tweed Valley Hospital

Someone you care about is in Tweed Valley Hospital and you cannot be there. You might not know if this is the beginning of recovery or the middle of something harder. The flowers work either way. The address is 771 Cudgen Road, Cudgen NSW 2487. Include the patient's full name, the ward, and the bed number in your order notes.

Flowers go to the patient reception desk. The staff log the delivery and bring them to the bedside. In our experience, this takes anywhere from thirty minutes to three hours depending on the ward's activity level. You probably will not get a confirmation from the hospital. The confirmation comes when your person calls or messages you. Bright colours if the news is good. Softer tones if you are not sure yet. For the card message, "Thinking of you" works whether the news is good or uncertain. For get well flowers, compact arrangements or box formats are a safer bet than tall bunches because bedside space in a new hospital is designed for clinical equipment, not vases.

I would skip Oriental lilies for any ward delivery here. Some wards at Tweed Valley restrict heavily scented flowers. Asiatic lilies, gerberas, and chrysanthemums are all scentless and have never been turned away in my experience. If you are unsure, the Florists Choice products give the florist the latitude to choose ward-appropriate stems without you needing to know the restrictions.

A 70th or 80th in Kingscliff

You know the birthday is coming but you cannot be there. The flowers say happy birthday and I am sorry I am not there at the same time, and the person receiving them understands both. With 27% of Kingscliff residents living alone, milestone birthday flowers often arrive as the only physical acknowledgment on the day. Timing matters. Mid-morning delivery gives the best chance of someone being home. If nobody answers, the florist covering Kingscliff will look for a safe spot to leave the flowers, but for apartment buildings on the beachside, include a mobile number for the recipient or a neighbour who can accept.

A card message does not need to be long. "Happy 70th, Mum. Wish I was there." does enough. If you want to add a personal line, keep it short and direct. The flowers carry the weight of the gesture.

Milestone orders came through the Pottsville office constantly. The difference between a generic birthday and a 70th or 80th is what happens after day one. The recipient is often alone. Nobody is changing the water or trimming stems. I would steer toward chrysanthemums or natives over roses for a milestone because they tolerate neglect. A rose gives five days in a warm Kingscliff room. A chrysanthemum gives two weeks without anyone touching it.

If you know the age, the 60th and 80th birthday flowers pages narrow the options to arrangements that suit the milestone.

Not sure which product? Let the florist decide.

Florist's Choice from $74.50
When There Is No Occasion at All

Sometimes you just have not spoken to someone in a while and the silence has gone on longer than you meant it to. You are not entirely sure the flowers will be welcome. They almost always are. Kingscliff is full of people whose families are somewhere else. You see it in the empty apartments between Easter and October, in the accents at the shops, in the number of orders we process from Sydney and Melbourne to addresses on this coast. Just because flowers break the silence without needing a reason. If you heard bad news, softer colours. If you just miss them, bright is fine.

The card message on a thinking-of-you is the hardest to write because there is nothing to hang it on. "Saw these and thought of you" works. So does "No reason. Just wanted you to know." No occasion, no pressure.

Thinking-of-you callers were the hardest to help on the phones because they had no brief. No occasion, no colour, no budget in mind. They just knew they wanted to send something. Florist's Choice worked best for these orders because the florist filled the gap the caller could not articulate. They built from what was freshest and the result looked considered even though nobody specified a single stem.

Flowers for a New Arrival on the Tweed Coast

A new baby in the family. You want to be there and you are not, and the flowers are the next best thing to walking through the door yourself. Tweed Valley Hospital's maternity unit accepts flower deliveries. For new baby flowers, address the delivery to the mother's name, not the baby's, because the hospital registers the patient. Include the ward if you know it. For the card, "Congratulations on your new arrival" covers it. They are not reading long messages between feeds.

Day-two delivery is safer than day-one. Maternity stays at Tweed Valley can be as short as 24 hours for uncomplicated births. I had Asha at the old Tweed Heads Hospital and was home the next day. If you send on day one and she is discharged before the flowers arrive, the hospital will hold them but it complicates things. Sending to the home a day or two after discharge catches the new parents when they are settled and the flowers are not competing with clinical chaos.

New baby callers always asked whether they should order pink or blue. My answer was the same every time: order something that works for the room, not the baby. Soft colours, compact format, scentless stems. Asiatic lilies over Orientals because the maternity ward is small and heavily scented flowers get noticed for the wrong reasons. A box arrangement earns its place on a bedside table better than a tall bunch that needs a vase nobody packed.

Not sure what to send?

None of the occasions above matched yours. Good. Flowers are almost never the wrong choice, and the only risk is not sending them at all. If you have scrolled this far without deciding, the Colourful Bunch Including Chocolates is where most people land. It works for every occasion except sympathy, the chocolates turn it into a proper gift, and you do not need to guess. If the recipient is in a Kingscliff apartment with no vase, the Bright Arrangement With Chocolates arrives in its own box with foam and water, ready to go. No vessel needed.

Anna's pick for Kingscliff

If somebody rang me and said they had no idea what to send, I would steer them toward the Florists Choice Bright Mixed Bunch every time. 321 reviews at 4.5 stars across hundreds of different florists building it their own way. The florist in Tweed Heads or Banora Point picks from what came in fresh that morning and builds around it. You get the florist's best work, not a recipe they are trying to replicate from a photo.

Where It Started

In 2006, and like so many since then, looking for a seachange, Kingscliff was on a very short list of towns we wanted to visit, then living in Sydney. One early April day that year we flew to Ballina, hired a Hyundai Getz, in yellow mind you, and lazily made our way up the M1, by lazy, I simply mean that the car was flat out, down hill at 100KMH. My grandfather used to call these types of cars 'rolls-kin-ardleys', that is, rolls down hills but can hardly get up them.

This photo of Cudgen Creek was the first photo we ever took in Kingscliff, mid-2006. High tide, 1pm, and the reason we moved here.

Cudgen Creek Kingscliff at high tide, the photo that started the Lily's Florist story

But I digress, we exited the M1 from the Cabarita Beach exit, not that we had ever heard of the place before, and pushed north again. Back then, the road across Cudgen Creek was 1 lane, and a wooden bridge. If you know, you know, it was 1PM, the sun at its zenith, it was high tide, I had to double take as I looked left down the creek, was I in Fiji or Northern NSW? I was completely blown away. In that one moment, without exaggeration, Kingscliff moved to #1 on our list.

After a quick feed at Zanzibar on Marine Parade, and enjoying a leisurely stroll back down the street we passed a flower and gift shop, and it was for sale. You see, part of the seachange plan was to either buy an existing business or start a new one, our thought was gifts and organic skincare, food, and baby products, the latter made sense, as I was a few months pregnant at the time - who ended up being a girl, Asha, who is now almost 19!

We stayed at Mantra at Salt that night and, during dinner, discussed the possibility of buying that shop, scaling down the flowers, and building up the gifts and adding our flare. Some months later, we ended up moving to Kingscliff, and despite advice against buying Kingscliff Florist by a local accountant, who in no uncertain terms said "don't do it...", we did it and bought the business.

Andrew at the door of our shop on Marine Parade during the renovation. The sign says Down to Earth Organics. The plan was gifts and skincare. The flowers had other ideas.

By then about 5 months pregnant, a new home, and new business, I thought, game on!

We opened the doors, with limited flowers and gifts in November 2006, to much excitement and fanfare. By April 2007 the reality of owning a small business, in a small coastal town had set in "where is everyone...?"! One thing that stayed true through, and honestly, painfully at times, and that was that phone kept ringing for people wanting to send flowers to Kingscliff, but also other areas like Pottsville, Cudgen, Casuarina (tiny as it was then), but also random places like Taree, Bendigo, Townsville and the like, and lots of them. Perplexed by so many calls, thanks to, what we learned later, was a Yellow Pages ad, some time in 2007, after saying sorry we cannot help to literally 1000's of call outside our area, we thought to ourselves, with $20 in the till, at the max, from a days trade, enter sliding doors moment, what if we took the call, rang a florist in the town where the flowers were going to, told the florist who we were, and asked them to make the flowers us. It was not until some time later that we discovered that, back then, flowers were often sent this way. Call your local flower shop, and get them to organise the delivery for you, which coined the phrase 'wire flowers'.

The pivot from trying to be an organic gift shop with a few flowers to fully embracing the flower business wasn't easy. We sold our organic products business and the shop, moved online completely with flowers, and converted our garage in Pottsville, where we moved to briefly, into a proper office.

Inside the shop before the renovation. The wooden counter with heart cutouts, the Kodak digital prints sign, the fish bowl. This was 2006.

Inside the original Kingscliff Florist shop in 2006, wooden counter and lime green walls

We hired real but ex-florists like Will and Anna to give us credibility and expertise. By 2013, we'd grown from that single shop to coordinating with 160 partner florists, and not long after that back to Kingscliff. Today, that number exceeds 800 and the business is very different, but Kingscliff remains special because it taught us everything, we still live here, we still swim in Cudgen Creek (AKA Kingy Creek), we still eat at Zanzibar, and well, it feels like we have lived here forever now.

Holiday rentals in this area can be unoccupied (16.1% of Kingscliff dwellings sit empty at any given time). The florist coordinating your delivery knows to try the intercom first, check with concierge at Mantra on Salt and Peppers Salt Resort, and look for a safe-drop spot if nobody answers. Include a mobile number for the recipient and, if the delivery is to a holiday apartment, let us know whether the person is actually there. For Kings Forest, where the first residents are settling into a brand-new Stockland development, some streets are not yet in all GPS mapping systems. Include the lot number if you have it.

Send the Same Arrangement

Anna's take on this review

Jackie ordered from Sydney for delivery in Kingscliff. The friend loved the flowers. The Bright Arrangement With Chocolates is a foam-based box arrangement, which means it arrived with a water reservoir already built in. On a Kingscliff doorstep in the middle of the day, that foam reservoir is the difference between a fresh arrangement and a wilted one by the time somebody gets home. Jackie's review also confirms something the product numbers already show: 392 reviews at 4.5 stars across the network. The box format travels well, the chocolates turn it into a gift, and the bright palette covers every occasion except sympathy.

Another recent review backs this up from a different angle. Robyn ordered the Florists Choice Bright Mixed Bunch and her friend Arlette loved the flowers enough to photograph them and send the photo back. When a recipient sends a photo, it means the visual impression was strong enough to interrupt their day. 321 reviews at 4.5 stars on that product, across hundreds of different florists interpreting "bright mixed" in their own way. The latitude the florist gets is the reason it works. They build from what is freshest and the result photographs well because the stems are at their peak, not three days into a cool room waiting for someone to order the exact combination in the picture.

Honest feedback: what one customer wanted us to do better

Megan, 1 March 2026: "I didn't get notifications and updates on my order or tracking. Made it rather annoying to know if my friend received their flowers."

Megan is right. We do not offer live tracking because the florist covering Kingscliff runs the delivery directly. There is no GPS ping on the van. The confirmation comes when the recipient calls or messages the sender. For most orders, that happens within a few hours of delivery. If you have not heard anything by the end of the day, call us on 1300 360 469 and we will chase it up with the florist. Megan's friend did like the flowers. The gap was not quality. The gap was communication, and it is a fair criticism we are working on.

After You Order to Kingscliff

Your order goes to our partner florist in Tweed Heads or Banora Point. The florist receives your card message, the size you selected, and any delivery notes you added. They read all of it before starting the build. The stems come through the Rocklea wholesale market in Brisbane. The florist builds your arrangement on the bench and delivers it the same day. The Tweed Coast is a tight delivery radius, so most orders are at the door within three to four hours of the build starting.

You will not get a tracking link or a delivery notification from us. The first confirmation is usually a call or text from the person who received them. If a few hours pass and you have not heard anything, it does not mean something went wrong. Most recipients do not respond immediately. They are at work, or in hospital, or just living their day. The photo or the thank-you text comes when it comes.

A word from Andrew, co-founder

This is the page I have thought about writing for years. Every other page in the network describes a place we deliver to. Kingscliff is the place we live. I walk past our old shop on Marine Parade most weeks. It sells surfboards now. The wooden counter with the heart cutouts is gone. The lime green walls are gone. But the street is the same street, and the creek is the same creek, and the cafe where we sat and decided to buy a florist is still serving dinner on a Friday night. If something goes wrong with your order, call 1300 360 469 between 7am and 6pm weekdays. I am probably three blocks away.

If you ordered after the 2pm weekday cutoff or after 10am Saturday, the flowers will go out the next available business day. No Sunday deliveries. The florist in Banora Point or Tweed Heads stores your order in the cool room overnight and builds it fresh the following morning. Nothing sits assembled and waiting.

For changes to an existing order, email [email protected] with your order reference number. For anything urgent, the phone is faster.

Andrew and I bought a florist and gift shop on Marine Parade in Kingscliff in 2006. I was pregnant with Asha, we knew nothing about flowers, and our accountant told us not to do it. We ignored him. That one shop became a network of 800+ partner florists across Australia. The headquarters never left Kingscliff. Our office is at Kingscliff Central, 22/11-13 Pearl St, Kingscliff NSW 2487, above the Commonwealth Bank. Our kids grew up here, our dog Bindi walks the beach here, and most of our business decisions are still made at the dinner table. For the full story, read our About Us page. It took us a month to write.
