Same Day Flowers Delivery - Australia Wide!
Diamond Valley, Queensland, gets same-day flowers: any weekday order in before 2pm is made up by our partner florist near Diamond Valley and driven out that afternoon. Lily's Florist reviews sit on Feefo, an independent platform, so we cannot edit or delete a single one. If they are in hospital, tell us which one, Maleny Soldiers Memorial or Sunshine Coast University Hospital, and the ward. Our hand-selected range of same-day flowers is just below, and ordering takes a couple of minutes. Rather talk? Call us, and one of our friendly, helpful, Australian-based team will type the card out as you say it.
Stems that stand in water before they are arranged ride the Diamond Valley hills better
Anyone ordering from a long way off tends to picture the flowers packed in a box and sent up the highway. The morning I knew on the bench was duller and far better for the stems. Back then, stock for the coasts north and south of Brisbane came up from the market at Rocklea, and none of ours was arranged straight off the truck. It stood in buckets for a few hours first. Conditioning, florists call it: the stem drinking back what the trip took out.
A gerbera shows you why. The stem is hollow and holds the flower up on water pressure alone. Fully drunk, a gerbera can ride the hills out along Diamond Valley Road with its face up. Short of water, it folds at the neck. I learned that on the bench at Salt, after rushing a bucket of them into a job one hot morning and watching half of them bow before lunch. A bunch that has had its drink travels. One that has not, sulks.
A birthday, a stay in hospital, a family in a hard week: in our experience that covers most of what gets sent to acreage around Diamond Valley. For anything in between, thinking-of-you flowers need no reason at all.
Mum is still in Diamond Valley and you are not, so her birthday gets organised from a phone somewhere else. At checkout, make sure the suburb reads Diamond Valley, QLD 4553. There is a Diamond Valley in Melbourne's north-east too, and for that one our Greensborough and Diamond Creek pages are the ones you want. A Mooloolah Valley address on Diamond Valley Road is fine, as long as the 4553 is there.
I have form with this. In 2007 I took a call in our shop on Marine Parade in Kingscliff for a birthday in Brunswick, had the bunch made up, and was halfway down the highway to Brunswick Heads (Asha asleep in her capsule in the back) before I read the street on the docket properly. Sydney Road. Melbourne. I rang her back, she laughed a lot more than I did, and she found a florist down there herself. The flowers came home and sat on our kitchen bench (the only bunch I have ever sent myself), and calls like hers, twenty-odd a day for places we could not reach, are what turned into Lily's Florist.
Anna's pick: for Mum's birthday in a big open room, lilies earn their spot: each stem opens one bud after another, so the bunch looks different on Friday than it did on Tuesday. Pinch the orange anthers out as each flower opens and the tablecloth stays clean. If she is not a lily person, the wider birthday range has plenty without them.
Someone in Diamond Valley has ended up in hospital, and all you have is the hospital's name and a ward someone mentioned on the phone. If they are due home tomorrow, send to the house instead. For a ward, put their full name, the hospital and the ward in the notes. In our experience flowers go to the ward desk first, so a short wait before they reach the bed is normal. A card line that works: "Rest, and let everyone else do the running around."
In a shared room, leave the oriental lilies and stock out of it; the next bed did not ask for the perfume. Gerberas, chrysanthemums and pollen-free Asiatic lilies give all the colour with no scent. The hospital range leans compact for a narrow bedside, and get-well flowers for the house can go bigger.
Someone has died, and the family are at the house this week, kettle on, cars parked down the drive. Sympathy flowers to the house a few days after the service tend to land better than people expect, because by then the crowd has gone home and the quiet has started. They will not fix anything, and I would still send them. Put a mobile in the notes, and keep the card short: "With love, and so sorry" is enough.
Whites and creams with plenty of green, like the white sympathy range, sit quietly on a sideboard for a week. When they go in the vase, strip every leaf below the waterline. Leaves left under rot, and the water goes cloudy inside a couple of days.
Plenty of orders fit no heading at all: a new job, a rotten week, a neighbour who fed the dogs while you were away. Anna had one answer for all of them.
Gerberas. Big flat faces in every colour, no scent, no pollen, and they look happy without trying. Gerberas come as a bunch or arranged. If one bows its head later in the week, recut the stem and stand it in a few centimetres of warm water for an hour, and it usually lifts again.

In before 2pm on a weekday and it can reach Diamond Valley today.
Flower Bunches, Made TodayBefore 2pm on a weekday for the same day, which leaves the florist time to make it and drive it out. Before 10am on Saturday, since the Saturday run finishes early. After the cutoff, you pick the delivery day at checkout. No Sunday delivery, except Mother's Day.
Diamond Valley, QLD 4553 in the address, so it cannot drift to Melbourne. The road number, a word about the drive if the house sits back from the road, and a mobile that answers. For a hospital, the full name and the ward.
Whoever answers at the house, or a shady spot you name in the notes if nobody is home. On a ward, in our experience, the desk. A weekday order paid before 2pm goes on this afternoon's run.
Flower Arrangements, Sent Today
Once it is paid there is nothing to chase. You get a confirmation email, and that is your job done. If the phone does not ring that night, that is normal (I said so on the shop phones more times than I can count); most people find a vase, stick the card on the fridge, show the flowers to whoever drops in, and ring the next day.
To change anything, email [email protected] or call 1300 360 469, 7am to 6pm weekdays and from 10am Saturday, and one of our team will sort it.
The order goes to a florist in or close to Diamond Valley. They check what came in that morning, make it, write the card, and it goes on the afternoon run. Shut gate or nobody home, the driver will usually ring the mobile on the order. If a stem you picked did not come in, it gets swapped for one in the same colour and value, and the order says so. That rule came out of a few awkward phone calls in the shop years. Anything wrong when it lands, send us a photo the same day. We fix it.
After that, you can put the phone down.
