* My 'low-tech' blueprint. This is how we ensure your Dural order goes to a real florist in the Hills District, avoiding the warehouse production lines and Australia Post boxes.
You place an order. It lands in our system and gets matched to a partner florist in the Hills District based on the recipient's postcode and what that florist has in stock. If you have ordered something specific and our closest florist has run out, the order moves to the next florist who can fill it properly. No substitutions without reason, no guesswork. Your flowers get made that morning by a real florist with real training, then a local courier delivers them. Business addresses by 5pm, homes by 6pm or 7pm. If something looks off with the address or we cannot reach the area, we call you before charging anything.
My partner Andrew grew up in Sydney and one of his closest mates, Brian, lived in Dural on a big property out that way. Brian had it pretty good actually. From about 15 he lived in the granny flat out the back which at the time seemed like the coolest setup imaginable for a teenager. But the real drawcard was the motorbikes. Brian had a couple of 80cc Hondas and they would spend entire weekends in the late 80s tearing around that property, kicking up dust, probably doing things that would make their parents wince if they knew the full extent. Andrew still talks about it, that sense of freedom, all that space, the sound of those little bikes echoing off the trees.
Dural has changed since then, more houses, more traffic, but it still has that semi rural feel in parts. The acreage properties, the horse paddocks, that sense of being just far enough from the city to breathe. It is the kind of place where flowers often mark something meaningful. A milestone birthday for someone who has lived on the same property for decades. A thank you to neighbours who checked in while you were travelling. Sympathy flowers for a family down the road who everyone knows by name.
I am Siobhan, I run Lily's Florist with Andrew, and we have been doing this since 2009. Back then we had a tiny florist and gift shop on Marine Parade in Kingscliff, northern NSW. We knew almost nothing about flowers, we had just had a baby, and our accountant told us not to buy the shop. We bought it anyway. Those early days were tough, really tough at times, and we learned everything the hard way. How to talk to customers about flowers when you are not a florist. How to manage deliveries with a newborn in the back of the car. How to survive a quiet winter in a small coastal town with $20 in the till at the end of the day.

* This was us in 2006, back when we were still learning how to balance a newborn in the car with a day's worth of deliveries. This little shop is in Kingscliff where the 'Dural standard' of quality actually started.
That little shop does not exist anymore but the lessons from it shaped everything we do now. We work with over 800 partner florists across Australia, we do not charge them membership fees, and in return they put extra care into every order. Our customer service team is based in Armidale NSW, not offshore, and one of them, Anna, is an ex florist who has been with us for over 15 years.

* Andrew, me, and the girls. Asha’s finishing school this year and Ivy’s 14. When we talk about Dural, Andrew still hears the echo of those 80cc Hondas on Brian's property. FYI, this was Hobart last year and the only photo the kids allowed me to share :)
We do not have a boardroom. We do not have a marketing department or strategic planning sessions. Andrew and I make decisions at the dinner table, usually while sorting out netball schedules for our daughters Asha and Ivy, or working out who is driving to basketball at Carrara on Friday night. Asha is 18 now and about to finish school, Ivy is 14 and keeps us on our toes. This is a family business in the truest sense. No investors, no corporate structure, just us trying to do right by our customers and our partner florists.

* Over 3,000 reviews from real customers in the last 12 months. We keep the reviews transparent because it keeps us honest. That Trusted Service Award is a win for our whole local partner network.
In 2013 we partnered with Feefo, a third party review platform that only collects feedback from verified customers. We cannot edit reviews, we cannot delete the bad ones, and we cannot ask mates to write glowing testimonials. Every review comes from someone who actually ordered flowers.
In 2024 & 2025 we received over 3,000 reviews and more than 2,400 were four or five stars. That earned us a Feefo Trusted Service Award which we are proud of. Flowers are subjective and reviews can sting sometimes, but they keep us honest and they help us get better at what we do.
If someone in Dural needs flowers, we can make it happen. Order online anytime or call 1300 360 469 during business hours. Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm, Saturday 7am to 12pm. Real florists, real service, delivered today.
