Flowers delivered to East Trinity today, right out to the acreage blocks, when you order before 2pm on a weekday or 10am Saturday. Later than that, you pick the delivery day at checkout. We’ve been sending flowers into Cairns since 2007, so rural addresses like these are nothing new. In Cairns Hospital instead? Add the ward to the notes. Buy the Bright Arrangement With Chocolates or the Blissful Botanics Bunch below in a couple of minutes, or call us and one of our friendly, helpful, Australian-based team will help you pick one.
Choosing flowers for East Trinity in the wet season
If the flowers are going out to East Trinity between roughly December and April, choose for the air. Humid air keeps petals plump most of the year, but in the wet it sits warm, saturated and still in a house with the doors open, and Botrytis, which is grey mould, wakes up. It shows as small brown flecks on the outer petals of roses and carnations.
The first time I saw it I binned a bucket of roses that were perfect under the first layer. Pull the flecked petals off and the bloom is fine; keep the vase where air moves, and don’t mist it. Protea and leucadendron barely notice, which makes natives the safest pick for a wet-season delivery there.
Birthdays, hospital stays and funerals: the orders for East Trinity are the same as anywhere, with a longer road at the end. Any of our same-day flower bunches can make that trip today.
Sending birthday flowers to a block in East Trinity from somewhere else, you can’t know who’ll be home. Put their mobile in the notes.
I learned why on Fingal Road, back home in the Tweed, in 2007. From Tweed Heads you can nearly see Fingal Head, so I told the sender it was just over the river. The road goes round. By the time I found the house, the birthday girl was at the beach and I had no number to ring. East Trinity is the same: Cairns in sight across the inlet, the drive in going round by Gordonvale.
Get the cellophane off once they’re inside. Wrapped tight in humid air, a rose sweats against the plastic, and that’s where the grey flecks start.
A bed at Cairns Hospital on the Esplanade can have the East Trinity hills in view and still be a long drive from home. Send hospital flowers with their full name and ward in the notes; in our experience reception takes them and staff carry them through. Home already? Get well flowers go there instead, with a card like “Get home soon. The view’s better from there.”
Leave oriental lilies for home. In a shared room their scent reaches the next bed.
If you can’t be at the service, the flowers can. Wherever it’s held, in Gordonvale, Cairns or further afield, funeral flowers go to the funeral director with the name, venue and service time in the notes. Sympathy flowers for the home can follow a few days later, when the house has gone quiet, and “Thinking of you all from here” is enough on the card. Flowers don’t fix any of it. People still notice who sent them.
Anna’s call: whites, creams and soft greens, like the White Lily & Rose Sheath, sit quietly beside grief.
Plenty of orders fit no heading at all: a new job, a rough week, someone you haven’t rung in a while.
Anna’s pick: the Australian Native Arrangement. Protea and leucadendron take the humid air in their stride, and the leucadendron dries on a shelf for months afterwards. More in our native flowers.

In my years on the phones, 2006 to 2011, the country orders that came unstuck were nearly always the ones where the house number was a guess. People on acreage were never quick to ring and say thanks either (there was always something that needed doing first), so a quiet phone afterwards is normal. A bunch is a small thing to send all that way, I know, and it still ends up on the kitchen bench where they see it every time they walk past.
Email, florist, the run, their door. Same order of events since 2009.
