Back in 2009, not long after we'd sold our Kingscliff shop and gone fully online with flowers, we took a drive up to the Sunshine Coast hinterland. Someone had told us about these famous Wednesday markets in Eumundi, and being curious souls, we thought we'd have a look. Walking through those market stalls, past the handmade soaps and local art, we stumbled upon a flower stall run by a local florist. That chance meeting became one of our first Sunshine Coast partnerships, though neither of us knew it at the time.
The funny thing about running a flower shop in a coastal town is how many calls you get for inland deliveries. The Sunshine Coast hinterland was always popping up on our radar. People from Noosa wanting to send flowers to their mum in Eumundi, Brisbane peeps ordering for friends who'd escaped to the hills, locals from Coolum sending birthday surprises up the range. Eumundi might be small, but it punches above its weight when it comes to people who care about sending something special.
These days, we work with several partner florists across the Sunshine Coast who really understand what Eumundi people appreciate. This town has its own very unique rhythm, somewhere between artistic bohemian, Bangalow NSW, and practical Queensland. The Imperial Hotel might host a poetry night one evening and a cattle auction the next morning. Our partners get that balance.
Take our Rose, Gerbera and Lily Arrangement for instance. It's become a bit of a favourite for Eumundi deliveries. The roses bring that classic touch everyone recognises, the gerberas add that burst of colour that feels right at home among Eumundi's creative spirit, and the lilies bring it all together with pure elegance.
Brenda recently told us about her experience ordering this exact arrangement: "Great telephone experience. The lady was very friendly and helpful. Excellent, lots of choices." That's our team in Armidale she's talking about, all Aussies, all trained to know their flowers. Then there's Sian who shared: "The flowers that were delivered were fresh and the arrangement was delightful. Same-day delivery was fantastic. The recipient was delighted."
We recently picked up another Feefo Trusted Service Award. Sounds fancy, but basically it means real customers who actually bought flowers left real reviews. We needed 50 good reviews to qualify. We got over 3,100, and over 22,000 since 2013. In small towns like Eumundi, that matters because everyone talks to everyone. You can't fake good service when the person getting the flowers probably knows three other people on the same street.
Gail summed it up nicely: "Easy to navigate especially for the older person not used to ordering online." That's intentional. Eumundi has young artists and old timers, tree changers and generational locals. Our site works for all of them.
Order before 2PM weekdays and we'll get flowers delivered same day, even to those properties out past the showgrounds. After 17 years and partnerships with over 800 florists across Australia, we've learned that every town has its own personality. Eumundi's just happens to be one of our favourites
