Irvington's out near Casino in the Northern Rivers. We know that area pretty well, used to live in Kingscliff which is about an hour and a bit east. When we had the flower shop there back in 2007, we'd occasionally get calls for Casino and the surrounding areas. Never Irvington specifically back then, but plenty of requests for that whole region out west from the coast.
It's proper country out there, I know, I have been out there a number of times. Farmland, cattle properties, small communities where everyone knows everyone. Different world to the coastal towns but people still send flowers, still have birthdays and anniversaries and all the rest.
We deliver to Irvington now through our partner florists around Casino and Lismore. Not huge volumes, maybe a few orders a month, but enough that we've got it sorted.
Our partner florists in Casino handle most Irvington deliveries. When you order, it goes to whichever florist can fill it based on what they've got available and where exactly in Irvington it needs to go. Sometimes it'll route to a Lismore florist if they're closer to that particular property.
Real florist shops making them, local couriers who know the back roads. Made fresh, delivered same day if you get your order in before 2pm Monday to Friday.
Rural deliveries work a bit different to metro. Long driveways, properties with just a name not a street number, gates that might be locked. Our couriers are used to it but we do need the recipient's mobile number. They'll call when they arrive, work out the best spot to leave the flowers. Can't just dump them in full sun on a verandah, they'd be dead by afternoon.
Family on Properties Quite a few cattle and farming properties around Irvington. Someone's got family out there, lives in Brisbane or Sydney themselves, can't just pop over for a birthday. Flowers get sent instead. Shows you're thinking of them even if you can't be there.
Get Well at Home Casino or Lismore hospitals are the closest for people around Irvington. Someone gets sick, spends time in hospital, then heads home to recover. Flowers arriving a few days later when they're settled back home, that works well. Their own bed, their own space, bit of brightness while they're recovering.
Sympathy Flowers Small communities, when someone passes away everyone knows. Flowers get sent to the family home or to funeral services. If it's a funeral we ring the funeral directors in Casino, find out timing, make sure everything arrives when it needs to. Done quite a few for that area over the years.
Thank You After Visiting People visit properties around Irvington for weekends, farm stays, helping out with work. Sending flowers afterwards as a thank you, pretty standard. Easier than posting something, gets there quicker.
Just Because Living out on a property can be isolating. Nearest neighbour might be kilometres away. Flowers turning up randomly can really make someone's day. Doesn't need a reason. Just "thinking of you" is enough.
Website, find your flowers, whack in the Irvington address. System checks we can deliver (we can), you keep going. Pick your date, write your card message, add extras if you want, pay. Takes a few minutes.
Can order from your phone too. Driving through Casino, remember you need to send flowers to someone in Irvington, pull over, sort it on your mobile.
If the address is vague or you've only got a property name, call us. Rural addresses can be tricky, we're used to working it out. Call 1300 360-469, someone answers Monday to Saturday.
Mixed Bunches Straightforward, bit of everything, looks good. Rural areas tend to like flowers that aren't too fussy. Our mixed bunches start around $60, go up to $120 depending on size. Reliable choice.
Native Flowers Banksia, waratahs, gum, proteas. Last ages which matters when you're out on a property. Hardy too, handle the heat better than roses or lilies. Properly Australian flowers for a properly Australian setting.
Deal of the Day $73.95, florist picks what's freshest. Popular because people trust the florist to make something good. Our Casino area florists know what works for rural deliveries, they won't send something too delicate that'll wilt on the drive.
Sympathy Arrangements Whites and creams mainly. Sheaths for funeral services. If you're sending to a funeral around Irvington or Casino, mention it when you order. We coordinate with funeral directors, get timing sorted.
Don't live in Kingscliff anymore but we're still in the area, still connected to the Northern Rivers. Casino's about 45 minutes from where we are. Drive through occasionally, know the roads, know the vibe.
