Same Day Delivery - Mermaid Waters Wide
There's a Japanese restaurant in Mermaid Waters called Etsu. I'm not being dramatic when I say it's our favourite restaurant in the world. Getting there from the Tweed is a mission, and with Asha and Ivy now eating like adults the bill makes your eyes water, but we try to make the trip every few months anyway. The omakase, the atmosphere, that moment when the first dish arrives and you remember why you drove an hour and paid too much for parking. Worth it, every single time.
I mention Etsu because it's part of why Mermaid Waters feels familiar to us, not like a suburb we're targeting for SEO purposes, but somewhere we've actually spent real time. For two years, both kids trained at Rivals Athlete Performance Centre there. Netball specific strength and conditioning, the kind of gym where teenagers lift weights and parents sit in cars answering emails and wondering how much longer this session will go. Ivy and Asha both played for Rivals at HDNA in Mudgeeraba too, so between training sessions and games, we were in and around Mermaid Waters constantly.
The point of sharing all this, and I realise it might seem like an odd way to start a page about sending flowers, is that we actually know this area. We've driven these streets tired after early morning training. We've grabbed coffee while waiting for the kids. When you order flowers to Mermaid Waters through Lily's Florist, you're ordering from a family who has spent genuine time here, not a faceless company targeting suburbs from a spreadsheet.

Lily's Florist operates through a network of over 800 partner florists across Australia. We don't have a warehouse. We don't box flowers up and send them through Australia Post overnight. When you order flowers to Mermaid Waters, your order goes to one of our local Gold Coast partner florists who will handcraft your arrangement and deliver it fresh, same day if you order before 2pm on weekdays or 10am on Saturdays.

Our partners are real florists with real shops. They employ local staff, use local couriers, and take genuine pride in their work. Some have been with us for over 15 years now. The model works because everyone benefits. The florist gets orders without spending money on marketing, you get beautiful flowers made by someone who actually knows what they're doing, and we get to keep doing what we love.
Order before 2pm Monday to Friday, or before 10am Saturday, and your flowers will arrive the same day. Business addresses typically receive deliveries by 5pm, residential addresses by 6pm or 7pm depending on the run. We don't deliver on Sundays except for Mother's Day.
The delivery fee is $16.95, which we actually subsidise because the real cost is often higher. If your delivery location falls outside our standard network and requires additional charges, we'll call you to discuss it before proceeding. No surprises.
My name is Siobhan, and together with my partner Andrew, we've been running Lily's Florist since 2009. But the story actually starts in 2006 when we bought a tiny florist and gift shop in Kingscliff, against our accountant's advice, with a baby on the way and absolutely no experience in flowers.
The plan was to scale back the flowers and focus on organic gifts, skincare, baby products. But the previous owner had taken out a Yellow Pages advertisement, the book, and the phone kept ringing. Forty plus calls a day for flowers, to places we'd never heard of, areas we couldn't deliver to. For months we said sorry, we can't help, and hung up.

* The shop back in 2006, 20 years this year, gosh where did time go. In Kingscliff, before going fully online with flowers roughly 4 years later.
One quiet winter afternoon, with maybe $20 in the till from the whole day's trade, we looked at each other and thought, what if we said yes instead? What if we found florists in those other towns and asked them to help us? No fees, just a small commission built into the flower value. We approached our first partner in Murwillumbah, nervous and rehearsing what we'd say the whole drive out. She said yes. Then the next florist said yes. Then another.
That's how Lily's Florist was born. Not from a business plan or investor funding, but from desperation and a willingness to try something different. Today we work with over 800 florists, but we're still the same Mum and Dad team making decisions at the dinner table, or in the car on the way to netball, or while watching the kids play.
Since 2013 we've partnered with Feefo, an independent review platform endorsed by Google. The difference with Feefo is that only verified customers can leave reviews. We can't delete the bad ones, we can't ask our mates to write nice things. Every review comes from someone who actually ordered flowers.
In 2024 and 2025 we received Feefo's Trusted Service Award, which requires a minimum of 50 reviews with an average of 4 stars or above. We had over 3,000 reviews in that period, more than 60 times the minimum. Not all of them were glowing, flowers can be subjective and sometimes things go wrong, but we respond to every piece of feedback and genuinely try to make things right.

One customer recently wrote that their flowers arrived exactly as requested and were "absolutely beautiful". Another mentioned that we sent them an SMS and email when modifications were needed due to flower availability during the busy Christmas period. That kind of communication matters to us. We're contactable six days a week by phone, email, or live chat. Our team is Australian based, including Anna who started with us as an ex florist 15 years ago and is still here today.
Birthdays seem obvious, but there's also the "just because" moments that sometimes mean more. Congratulating someone on a new job. Saying thank you to a neighbour who helped out. Letting a friend know you're thinking of them after a tough week. Flowers don't need a formal occasion to make someone's day.
For sympathy and funerals, we work closely with funeral directors to ensure the flowers arrive at the right place at the right time. If you select funeral as the occasion during checkout, our team will typically call the funeral home directly to coordinate.
Get well flowers for hospitals require a few extra details from you, the ward, bed number if you have it, the recipient's mobile. We recommend arrangements from our hospital or get well categories as these come in boxes that don't require a vase or much maintenance.
Browse our range online or give us a call on 1300 360 469. Our checkout is one page, no account required, designed for people ordering quickly from their phone during a lunch break or between meetings. If you need help writing the gift card message, our team can help with that too.
All prices include GST. All flowers are available for same day delivery when ordered before the cutoff times. And if something doesn't go to plan, we're here to sort it out.
