Same Day Delivery - Sylvania Wide
The thing about starting a flower delivery network from scratch is that you don't get to pick which locations come first. The calls tell you. And the Sutherland Shire, including Sylvania, was one of those areas that kept showing up in our tally. We were tracking every call we had to turn away, trying to figure out where the demand was. The Shire was there, consistently, week after week. Back then, we had one landing page, for the entire of Sydney - and one partner florist.
Our first partner florist in Sydney came on board around 2010, her name was Kylie. I remember the conversation because she was so enthusiastic about the idea. No membership fees, no complicated arrangements, just us sending her the orders and her making beautiful flowers for our customers. She'd been running her shop for over 15 years by that point, knew every suburb in the area, had relationships with couriers who understood that Sylvania Waters has those narrow streets around the canals and that some of the older parts of Sylvania Heights have steep driveways.
Today, we have multiple partner florists who cover Sylvania and the surrounding suburbs. Every order that comes through for the 2224 postcode goes to a real florist, not a warehouse, not someone sticking flowers in a box and posting them overnight. A proper shop with trained staff and delivery drivers who know the difference between Sylvania proper and Sylvania Heights.
One of our recent Feefo reviews sums up what we aim for with every order:
"Easy to order. Arrived exactly as requested. Absolutely beautiful."
That's the goal. Simple ordering, reliable delivery, flowers that make someone's day. Sylvania Waters in particular can be challenging for deliveries. Those canal streets, the locked gates, the difficulty parking a delivery van. Our partner florists know the area and they work around it, calling recipients to arrange times when needed.
Anna has been with us for over 15 years now. She started as a florist in our early days and these days handles our bookkeeping, but she still knows more about flowers than Andrew and I ever will.
"When we're sending flowers to Sylvania, I always think about the conditions," Anna says. "In summer, those Georges River suburbs get really warm, especially the inland parts like Sylvania Heights where there's less breeze. Our partner florists know to pack arrangements appropriately, use water tubes on stems when needed, and time deliveries so flowers aren't sitting in hot cars. The coastal influence from Cronulla helps, but you still need to be mindful. I'd recommend our boxed arrangements for summer deliveries there because they hold water better and stay fresher during transport." Qualified Florist, 15+ years experience.
We deliver to all parts of Sylvania including:
Sylvania (2224), Sylvania Waters (2224), Sylvania Heights, and nearby suburbs like Miranda, Gymea, Kangaroo Point, and Taren Point.

* How it works. You order with us, we send it to a local partner florist, they make and deliver your flowers the same day.
Same day delivery is available Monday to Saturday. Order by 2pm on weekdays or 10am on Saturdays and we'll have the flowers there the same day. The delivery fee is $16.95, which we subsidise because actual delivery costs are often higher, particularly for those trickier Sylvania Waters addresses.
Our partner florists deliver to homes, workplaces, and Sutherland Hospital. If you're sending to a business, flowers typically arrive during working hours. For residential addresses, our couriers will leave flowers in a safe spot out of direct sunlight if no one's home, or they'll call the recipient to arrange an alternative.
We're a Mum and Dad business. Andrew and I make the decisions at the dinner table, not in a boardroom, think Post-it notes and WhatsApp. Our daughters Asha and Ivy have grown up with this business, listening to us talk about flowers and florists and delivery logistics over dinner for most of their lives. Asha's about to turn 19, Ivy's 15 in Feb. Sometimes I think they know more about the flower industry than most adults.

* Andrew and I with our daughters Asha and Ivy. Most business decisions get made at the dinner table or on the drive to netball.
Our Australian call centre team in Armidale answers the phone six days a week. No offshore call centres, no automated systems that loop you in circles. Real people who can help you choose the right flowers, write a card message, or sort out any issues after delivery.
We've won the Feefo Trusted Service Award for 2024 and 2025, based on over 3,000 verified customer reviews. Feefo only collects reviews from people who've actually ordered, so you know the feedback is genuine. Not every review is perfect, flowers are subjective and sometimes things go wrong, but we read every single one and we act on the feedback.

* Our Feefo Trusted Service Award for 2024 and 2025, based on over 3,000 verified customer reviews and over 23,000 since 2013.
Sylvania holds a strange kind of nostalgia for Andrew and me, even though we never lived there. When we were in our twenties, both working in Sydney, living in that little apartment in Drummoyne, the Sutherland Shire felt like another world. Andrew's mate from uni had a place in Sylvania Waters, one of those canal houses with a tinny tied up at the back, and we'd head down there on summer weekends. I still remember the first time I saw the Georges River from Tom Uglys Bridge, the light bouncing off the water, the boats lined up along the foreshore. It felt so far from the city, even though it was barely 25 kilometres away.
Those weekends shaped something in us. Watching families fishing off the jetties at Kangaroo Point, the quiet hum of outboards in the morning, the way the whole area felt like it belonged to the people who lived there. Years later, when we were sitting in our struggling florist shop in Kingscliff, fielding yet another call for flowers to somewhere we couldn't deliver, the Sutherland Shire came up more than you'd expect. Sylvania, Miranda, Cronulla, Sutherland itself. People wanting to send flowers to mum, to nan, to a mate recovering from surgery at Sutherland Hospital.

* Our shop in Kingscliff, where it all started. This is where we sat fielding calls for the Sutherland Shire that we couldn't deliver to. Until we figured out how.
If you're sending flowers to someone in Sylvania, Sylvania Waters, or Sylvania Heights, we'd love to help. Order online anytime or call us on 1300 360 469 during business hours. We're here Monday to Friday 7am to 6pm, and Saturdays 7am to 12:30pm.
Those Georges River suburbs still feel special to me, even now. There's something about being near water that makes people appreciate flowers more, or maybe that's just my imagination. Either way, our partner florists in the area do beautiful work, and we're proud to have been delivering there since the early days of Lily's Florist.
Siobhan co-founded Lily's Florist with her partner Andrew in 2009 after buying a struggling florist shop in Kingscliff NSW in 2006. What started as a sea change with a baby on the way turned into an Australia-wide network of over 800 partner florists. She still lives in Kingscliff with Andrew and their daughters Asha and Ivy, and still makes most business decisions at the dinner table. You can read the full story on our About Us page.
