Same Day Flowers Delivery - Australia Wide!
Same-day flower delivery covers all of Woree: order before 2pm on a weekday and the flowers arrive this afternoon, or pick any later day at checkout. Our partner florist in Cairns makes them that day and takes them to a house, a unit, a school office or a cabin at the Cairns Coconut Holiday Resort. Choose a Colourful Bunch Including Chocolates for a birthday, or a Gorgeous White Arrangement for sympathy, from our same-day range below, or call us for a yarn with one of our friendly, Australian-based team.
Bunch or box? For a Woree address, it depends who's home to find a vase
A bunch is lovely the minute it's in a vase. If nobody's home until after school, the bunch waits at the door in its wrap; if the vase is still packed after a move, it waits on the bench. Either way, on a warm afternoon a rose out of water pulls air up the cut stem, and by evening the head hangs.
A boxed arrangement waits for nobody: the stems sit in wet floral foam and drink from the moment it lands. I put together plenty of housewarming boxes at Salt in Kingscliff for that reason. The native flowers in the Australian Native Arrangement go a week or more in a warm room, in my experience.
Birthdays and sympathy are what people send most, here as everywhere. About half of Woree rents, and half its homes are units or townhouses (2021 Census), so plenty of our flower bunches go to an address the sender has only just been given.
You're not going to make the birthday, so the flowers will. Our best-selling birthday flowers can be there today; for a house or a unit, put the full number and a mobile in the notes. For a lunch at the Cairns Golf Club on Links Drive, add the booking name.
We delivered to Tweed Golf Club in Banora Point all through our shop years, mostly birthdays, and Andrew once handed a seventieth birthday girl her roses mid-putt. She missed. She blamed the roses. (He says she was never going to sink it.)
For a club table, go boxed: the foam keeps the stems drinking till the last speech.
You've had the phone call and can't get to Woree this week. Sympathy flowers for home go to the family's house, and are often most welcome in the quiet week after the service. For the funeral, at the crematorium chapel on Foster Road or anywhere else, a wreath or sheath goes through the funeral director, so put the director's name and the service time in the notes. Flowers fix none of it, and still get looked at every time someone walks past. For the card: “Thinking of you all, with love.”
The Florists Choice Sympathy Arrangement usually carries white lilies, which open one after another over most of a week, in my experience. Pinch the orange anthers off as each one opens and the pollen won't mark the white roses.
A birthday or anniversary has landed mid-holiday, and you're at home. Send the flowers to the resort on Anderson Road for a day they're definitely staying, and put the booking name beside the cabin number in the notes. In our experience, reception tends to ring the cabin.
Anna's call: holiday-cabin aircon drops the air to around thirty percent humidity, and air that dry pulls water out of soft petals until the edges go papery. Vase away from the vent: roses do beautifully a step back from the draft, and carnations barely notice it.
Some orders fit none of the above. With five schools in Woree, the end of the school year brings thank-you flowers for teachers, which in our experience go to the school office, and graduation flowers for Year 12s, usually best sent home. Then there's the neighbour who fed the dog.
Anna has a view on this one. For a teacher's desk, send the Bright Arrangement With Chocolates: it sits in wet foam exactly as it arrives, holds its water for days without a top-up, and rides home on a car seat far steadier than a vase.
Other ways to choose
No vase needed at the other end.
Shop Boxed ArrangementsBefore 2pm weekdays, delivered that afternoon, because the florist needs the rest of the day to make and deliver the flowers. Before 10am Saturday, for the shorter day.
No Sunday delivery, except Mother's Day.
The unit or townhouse number and complex name. At the Cairns Coconut Holiday Resort, the cabin or site number and a mobile. At a school, the teacher's full name.
Whoever answers at the house, or the spot you named. School offices and resort reception tend to pass flowers on. In before 2pm, there this afternoon.
An email confirms the order, then it goes quiet. That's normal: the thank-you goes to whoever sent the flowers, sometimes days later (when I was on our phones, up to February 2011, plenty of worried calls ended with the text arriving mid-sentence).
To change anything, call 1300 360 469, 7am to 6pm weekdays, or email [email protected].
In 2007 and 2008, when we were one shop on Marine Parade, Cairns was one of our ten busiest delivery areas, and in 2009 it was one of the first eight towns in the network. Our partner florist in Cairns makes your order on the day. Wrong on arrival? Send a photo that day and we'll put it right. Back when we took the calls ourselves, the delivery that went wrong most was a townhouse with no unit number.
Number in, order placed, then you wait for the text. It usually comes.
