Same Day Flower Delivery Beecroft

Someone you love is having a hard run and you are hearing about it by phone. There is no birthday to hang it on, and thinking of you flowers do not need one; a plain Tuesday works. Send them to the house rather than a workplace, so they can be opened in private.

Leafy Beecroft streets, with houses set well back from the kerb, take me straight back to a delivery around 2008 off Scenic Drive in Bilambil Heights, in the years Siobhan and I drove the orders out of our Kingscliff shop ourselves. It is a parent's big birthday, and this year the party is a room at Beecroft House on Beecroft Road. Some rooms there are shared, which changes which stems suit. In our shop years, the arrangement that fitted a care-home bedside table around the Tweed got kept, and the big showy ones tended to end up in the corridor. A death in the family, and the service details are still arriving by text. Sympathy flowers for the service go to the funeral director, with the name and time in the notes. Flowers for the family go to the house, and a few days on, when the visitors thin out, is often when they land best. For the card, "Thinking of you all, and here whenever you need us." is enough.

Whites and creams with soft green sit quietly in a grieving house, and white sympathy flowers stay clean-looking far longer in a cool room than on a sunny sill. For a Chinese family, keep it white and yellow, and not one red stem. Red there reads as celebration.

Some orders don't fit a box: a new job, a house sold after forty years, a person you simply miss. None of them needs an occasion to be worth sending.

Anna, when you just need a pick

Go for pink flowers with a little deep red through them, roses leading. It is the palette in Phil's photo above, it reads warm in almost any room, and roses in a shaded Beecroft lounge room can run to ten days with fresh water.
