Flower Delivery Bellerive: Same Day

Why would you order flowers for Bellerive that get packed in a box in Melbourne? It takes two or three days for mail to cross the Bass Strait. By the time they arrive on the Eastern Shore, they are thirsty and sad. We don't do that. Since 2008, we've partnered with real local florists. When you order from us, your arrangement is made fresh that morning in Hobart and delivered by a van, not a postman. It’s the only way to ensure quality for your money.

Buy Flowers Online to Bellerive

Bellerive on that same Hobart trip. We'd crossed the Tasman Bridge, eastern shore now, different vibe. Found Cocomo+Co, this cafe Andrew had read about somewhere. I had the thyme roasted mushrooms which were divine. Asha got cocomo's combo, Ivy ordered her usual matcha and declared it the best in Tassie. High praise considering she'd been ordering them everywhere we went, comparing notes.

The Tesla was still causing us grief. Couldn't charge at the Airbnb, public chargers weren't great, the range kept dropping. Northern NSW to Hobart in July, we'd underestimated everything. How cold it would be. How much the hills would drain the battery. How much two teenagers could complain about being dragged around Tasmania.

We've been sending flowers to Bellerive for years through our partner florists on the eastern shore.

when we say family owned and operated, we mean it

* This was us in Hobart last year. Andrew, Ivy, me, Asha. When we say family owned and operated we certainly mean it

What's Actually Going Through Your Head

You're about to spend $90, maybe more, on something you'll never see. Trusting a stranger to get it right. If it goes wrong, you're the one who looks bad. What if it looks cheap? What if they can tell you only spent $80? What if the recipient Googles us and finds complaints? What if it doesn't arrive at all? What if they post it from Melbourne and it takes three days and arrives dead?

That's the anxiety. Here's what we actually do:

We have florists in Hobart. Same day. Your flowers get made that morning by someone who runs a real shop and cares about their reputation. Not a warehouse worker following a recipe. Not posted overnight from the mainland. Made fresh, delivered that afternoon.

How This Started (And Where We Are Now)

My name's Siobhan. We bought Kingscliff Florist in Northern NSW in 2006. Knew nothing about flowers. Behind the counter with a newborn, doing deliveries ourselves, completely out of our depth.

where Lily's Florist began

* Where our flower journey began in Kingscliff in 2006.

The previous owner had paid for a Yellow Pages ad just before selling. The phone wouldn't stop ringing. People wanting flowers delivered to Hobart, Townsville, places we'd never been. We kept saying sorry, we can't help. One day, sitting in that shop with maybe $20 in the till, we thought, what if we could?

Drove to Murwillumbah with the baby, nervously asked a florist there if she'd partner with us. She said yes. That was 2008. Today: over 800 florists including Tasmania. Still can't quite believe that happened, to be honest.

We're still Mum and Dad. Decisions get made at the dinner table or while driving the kids to netball or on holidays in Hobart where Ivy's doing matcha research. Asha's 18 now, Ivy's 14. No boardrooms, no offshore call centre.

The Tasmania Posting Problem

Most big online companies are based on the mainland. Order goes to a warehouse in Melbourne or Sydney. Flowers get boxed, posted to Tassie. Takes two, three days. No water, no temperature control. By the time they arrive at Bellerive they've been bouncing around in the back of a mail van.

Just like we were worried about finding chargers for the Tesla, people worry about flowers actually arriving in Tasmania. Different problem, same anxiety. Will this work or am I about to be disappointed?

We don't post flowers to Bellerive. We have partner florists in Hobart. Made that morning, delivered that day.

There's another thing about Tasmanian delivery that most online companies wouldn't think about. Anna, who worked as a florist for over fifteen years before joining us, has a rule about cold weather. "Moving tropical blooms from a warm van into freezing air causes the cells in the petals to rupture. Ice crystals form inside the cell walls and the tissue dies. You get black spots within hours and there's nothing you can do about it." In Hobart's winter especially, our partner florists know to double wrap anything delicate. Tissue first, then thick kraft paper, so the flowers have an insulation buffer between the heated van and the cold air at the front door. That's the kind of detail you get from a local florist who delivers in this climate every day. A warehouse in Melbourne packing a box doesn't think about it.

What to Send to Bellerive

Most people landing on this page already have someone in mind. They know who, they just don't know what.

Birthday on the Eastern Shore

You can browse birthday flowers on the site or let the florist decide. Honestly, the florist option tends to work better because they'll use whatever came in freshest that morning from the Hobart market. A $71.95 Florist's Choice gives them creative freedom and you get more flower for your money because they're not trying to match a photo with stems that might be out of season.

Thinking of You

This is the one people underestimate. Someone's going through a rough patch, recovering at home after surgery, just moved to Tasmania and doesn't know anyone yet. Thinking of you flowers don't need an occasion or a reason. They just need to arrive.

Just Because

No birthday, no anniversary, nobody's sick. You just want to send flowers because you can. Just because flowers are one of our most popular categories and people don't expect that. No pressure to get the "right" thing because there's no occasion to match.

Not Sure What to Send?

Go with the Florist's Choice at $71.95. You pick the size, our Hobart florist picks the stems. They'll use what's freshest and in season, which in Tasmania shifts quite a bit through the year. It's also the best value because the florist works with what they have rather than sourcing specific stems at a premium. If you're working to a tighter budget, we have a flowers under $60 range too.

What 3,000 People Said

We use Feefo for reviews. Google endorses them. Over 3,000 last year. Can't delete the bad ones, can't fake the good ones. Feefo Trusted Service Award 2024, 2025 and 2026. Keeps us honest.

Same Day Delivery Actually Works

This is the big one. We say same day, people worry it won't happen. Erica ordered flowers and they arrived "very promptly same day." Lynette bought flowers for her mother's birthday, "delivered same day as requested." That's what we're aiming for every time. Order by 2PM weekdays, it goes out that day.

The Website Doesn't Make You Want to Throw Your Phone

Lynette said it was "very easy to order flowers through the website." Another customer said "very easy to navigate & many options of pricing." We built the checkout to be one page, no account needed, because people order flowers when they're time-poor. At work, on lunch breaks, standing in line somewhere. If it takes ten clicks and three passwords, you'll give up.

our new 2026 feefo trusted service award

* Our badge, awarded to us by Feefo for unreal service. That is 3 years on the trot now.

Recipients Actually Like What Arrives

Phil's sister was "delighted with her rose and lily arrangement." Lynette's mum loved hers. The anonymous customer said "beautiful arrangements & flowers very fresh & bright." That's the point. We're not there when the flowers arrive, we can't see the recipient's face. We're trusting our partner florists to make something they're proud of. Most of the time, it works.

Not Everything Goes Perfectly

We get complaints. Flowers that didn't match the photo. Late deliveries. Arrangements that looked sparse. We read every one. Sometimes it's a legitimate problem we need to fix. Sometimes it's subjective - what one person sees as "rustic and natural" another sees as "not enough flowers." Both are valid. We try to sort it out, make it right where we can.

When Bellerive Needs Flowers

A Funeral on the Eastern Shore

This is the one that matters most. Someone's died, family's organizing the service, everything's awful and stressful and the last thing anyone needs is flowers not arriving or arriving late or looking sad.

We take funeral deliveries seriously. If you tell us it's for a funeral, we'll call the funeral home directly. Find out exactly when the service is, where they want the flowers, make sure we're there before it starts. We've done this hundreds of times. The family shouldn't be worrying about whether the flowers arrived while they're trying to say goodbye.

Sometimes people order flowers for funerals from interstate. Can't be there in person, want to send something. We get that. We'll coordinate everything, you don't need to chase anyone or make follow-up calls. It's handled.

Not sure if this helps or not, but we try. Flowers don't fix grief but they show someone cared enough to send them.

Anna, who trained as a florist and spent fifteen years on the bench before joining us, tends toward whites, soft creams, and muted greens for sympathy work. "Those colours are calming. They don't compete with grief. I'd avoid anything too bright or too bold for a funeral arrangement because the flowers should sit quietly in the room, not demand attention. Whites and creams also photograph well in the service, which matters more than people realise because families take photos of everything now." She also knows that Hobart's cooler temperatures actually help here. Cut stems hold longer in the cold, so sympathy flowers delivered to the eastern shore tend to last well past the service itself.

Hospital Delivery

Royal Hobart's not far from Bellerive, and we deliver there regularly. We need the ward name, bed number, and the recipient's mobile number. If they're in ICU, flowers go to the nurses station until they're moved to a general ward.

Our florists send boxed or contained arrangements to hospitals rather than loose bouquets. There's a practical reason for that. Hospital rooms don't have vases, patients can't get up to find scissors, and there's usually no bench space for arranging anything. A self contained arrangement goes straight onto the bedside table and the recipient doesn't need to do a thing with it. Anna learned this early in her floristry career. "I'd also pick low scent stems for hospital. Strong fragrance in a small room, especially if the person is nauseous or recovering from surgery, can make things worse. Gerberas, tulips, mixed natives. Nothing heavily perfumed like lilies or hyacinth."

> Shop get well flowers

How Delivery Works

Same day delivery Monday to Saturday. Order by 2PM weekdays, 10AM Saturday. The reason for those cutoffs is practical. Our florists need time to source, condition, and arrange the stems before loading the van. Flowers that get rushed out the door without proper hydration lose days of vase life, and in summer, every hour in a delivery vehicle matters. Van interiors can hit forty five degrees in the heat. Experienced florists route their runs to avoid leaving arrangements sitting in the vehicle during the hottest part of the afternoon.

Saturday's cutoff is earlier because the delivery window is compressed. Fewer drivers, fewer routes, and the flower markets close Saturday afternoon so there's no restocking.

We don't deliver on Sundays. The markets are closed, which means any Sunday arrangement would be made with Friday or Saturday stock. Anna's view on this is clear. "Friday stock loses about thirty percent of its vase life by Sunday. You'd be sending flowers that are already three days old before they hit the vase. That's not something I'd put our name to."

Business addresses usually by 5PM, residential by 7PM. Nobody home? We'll leave flowers somewhere safe, out of sun and out of sight from the street. Can't do that? We'll call the recipient. Can't reach them? Flowers might come back to the shop, and we'll talk about redelivery.

Delivery fee is $16.95. We subsidise the rest. Actual delivery costs in most areas run higher than that, but we absorb the difference because a $25 delivery fee on a $70 arrangement puts people off and we'd rather wear the cost than lose the order.

Eastern shore delivery, same day, real florists. Been doing this 17 years. Not posted from Melbourne, made fresh that morning in Hobart. Order online or call 1300 360 469. We answer.

How Your Order Gets There

When you place an order for Bellerive, it routes through our system to a partner florist in the Hobart area. They receive the order details, source the stems, make the arrangement, and deliver it themselves. There's no third party courier, no handoff to Australia Post. The person who makes the flowers is the person who delivers them, or someone from their shop.

If Something Goes Wrong

We read every complaint. If the arrangement doesn't match what you expected, or it arrived damaged, or it didn't arrive at all, contact us within 24 hours. Send photos of the arrangement from both sides (front and back, so we can see the full picture) to [email protected] or call us on 1300 360 469. We also have live chat on the website during business hours. We'll sort it out. Sometimes that means a replacement, sometimes a refund, sometimes an honest conversation about what happened.
