Same Day Delivery - Broadbeach Wide
We never planned to build a national flower network. In 2006, Andrew and I bought a struggling florist and gift shop in Kingscliff (see photo below). Lime green walls, dated fittings, Kodak sign out the front, and an accountant who told us we were making a mistake. We had no experience in flowers and a baby on the way. But we backed ourselves, signed the papers, and moved in.

* The Lime-Green Start. This is the shop our accountant told us not to buy in Kingscliff. It’s where we sat with $25 in the till and decided to stop saying "no" to deliveries in Broadbeach and beyond.
My name is Siobhan. Our plan was simple. Scale back the flowers, build up the gifting side with organic skincare and baby products. But the phone would not stop ringing. The previous owner had paid for a Yellow Pages advertisement just before selling to us. The book, delivered to homes across Australia. Within months we were getting 40+ calls a day for flowers. Kingscliff, Tweed Heads, Coolangatta. Then places further away. Broadbeach came up regularly. People wanting to send flowers to hotels, to the convention centre, to family in those beachfront apartments. We kept saying sorry, we cannot deliver there.
One freezing June afternoon, with about $25 in the till from a whole day of trading, and old school tuble week rolling past the shop back then, we looked at each other and thought what if we stopped saying no. The idea was straightforward. Find florists in those areas, ask them to help us with orders, and in return we would send them business without charging any fees. Just a small commission covered by adding extra stems. From 2006 to 2013 we never charged our partner florists a cent. Every florist we approached said yes. That model became Lily's Florist in 2009. Today we work with over 800 partner florists across Australia, and Broadbeach has been one of our Gold Coast delivery areas for close to 17 years.
We still live in Kingscliff, about 30 minutes south, and the Gold Coast is part of our weekly routine. Our girls went to school in Reedy Creek for six years. Ivy plays HDNA netball in Mudgeeraba on Saturdays and basketball at Carrara on Friday nights. After Friday games we usually stop at Courtside Cafe. Asha spent four years coaching kids sports at Tallebudgera Rec Centre. We are in Coolangatta constantly for Top Noodle and dropping the kids at the Strand campus.

* The Broadbeach Reset. Whether it's arguing over the last piece of lamb shoulder or a round of coffees at No Name Lane, this is our family's monthly rhythm. We aren't a corporate boardroom; we're a family that knows every backstreet of the Gold Coast.
Broadbeach has become a family favourite when we want a proper meal out, when we get the time. The Lamb Shop is Andrew and Ivy's pick, with Etsu just down the road, flip of a coin at that point. The kids go for the traditional souvlaki with lamb while Andrew and I share the lamb shoulder for two. It falls apart on the plate and we always over order sides because we cannot help ourselves. After food, or sometimes before, we end up at No Name Lane for coffees. Chai tea for me, matcha for Ivy, long black for Asha, espresso for Andrew. Four different orders, one table, usually arguing about something trivial. Those Broadbeach trips have become a bit of a reset for us. Good food, good coffee, the four of us together without anyone rushing off to training or work.
Broadbeach has a different feel to other Gold Coast suburbs. More upmarket, more corporate with the convention centre, more tourists, more long stay visitors in the high rises. I asked Anna (Qualified Florist, 15+ years) what she notices about Broadbeach flower orders.
Anna (Qualified Florist, 15+ years) says Broadbeach orders tend to be more sophisticated than your average suburban delivery. "You are sending to nice apartments, hotel suites, sometimes corporate events at the convention centre. People want something elegant, not necessarily bright and loud. We see a lot of requests for whites and creams, soft pinks, arrangements that look expensive without being over the top. Roses are popular but not your standard dozen reds. More often it is cream roses mixed with white lisianthus and touches of green foliage like eucalyptus. Lisianthus has that soft, ruffled petal that photographs beautifully and makes an arrangement feel luxurious without needing fifty stems."
Delivering to Broadbeach high rises means flowers need to survive lifts, lobbies, and sometimes sitting with concierge before the recipient collects them. Anna (Qualified Florist, 15+ years) says stem choice matters. "Orchids do well in Broadbeach orders. Phalaenopsis especially. They look high end, last for weeks, and they are tough. You can leave an orchid in an air conditioned lobby for a few hours and it will not skip a beat. Compare that to a delicate garden rose which starts drooping if it is out of water for twenty minutes. For corporate orders or anything going to a hotel, I always recommend varieties that can handle a bit of waiting around."
Broadbeach gets a lot of interstate and international visitors. Anna (Qualified Florist, 15+ years) reckons that drives demand for something distinctly Australian. "Tourists want to send flowers that feel like the Gold Coast. Tropical anthuriums, bird of paradise, mixed with Australian natives like banksias or flowering gum. These arrangements scream Queensland. They also last well in warm apartments. A bird of paradise will sit happy for ten days in a vase. Try that with imported tulips and you will be disappointed by day three."
When you order flowers to Broadbeach through Lily's Florist, your arrangement is made fresh that morning by a trained florist in a real shop. Not a warehouse. Not a production line. Not flowers sitting in a coolroom for days before being boxed and posted overnight.

A recent customer said "flowers were beautiful, delivery spot on" and they would "definitely use us again." Another mentioned "very helpful staff that don't rush with instructions" and that the "receiver was very happy with the flowers we chose for her." A third noted the flowers were "even better than the illustration" which is exactly what we aim for with every order.
We partnered with Feefo in 2013 because we wanted honest feedback from real customers. Feefo only collects reviews from people who have actually purchased. We cannot fake reviews, delete bad ones, or ask friends to write nice things. Since 2013 we have collected almost 26,000 reviews.
In 2024 and 2025 we received Feefo Trusted Service Awards for customer service. To qualify, a business needs at least 50 reviews averaging 4 stars or above in a 12 month period. We had over 3,000 in that window, with the vast majority being 4 or 5 stars.

* Transparency in the high-rises. We don't hide bad reviews. With nearly 26,000 human stories on Feefo, we’ve built our reputation on being real. If an order isn't perfect, we fix it, that’s the standard of an 20-year legacy.
Delivery to Broadbeach is $16.95, which we subsidise because the real cost is often higher. For same day delivery, get your order in before 2pm Monday to Friday or 10am Saturday.
Our team is Australian based and available on 1300 360 469 if you prefer to order by phone or want advice on what to send. We do not rush you through a script. Just real conversations with people who know flowers.
