I'm Siobhan. Andrew's sister Sarah has lived in Crows Nest for years, and when we visit from Kingscliff it's usually bikes along the foreshore. The nephews always get Andrew to stop at Guzman y Gomez on the main strip. We know the place. We started Lily's Florist back in 2006 with no flower experience and a baby on the way. the full story is here if you want it.
Crows Nest has more apartment buildings than most people realise, especially now with the towers that went up around the Metro precinct. That changes how I'd think about a delivery. A standard bouquet out of water for more than an hour starts to show. Not dramatically at first. Just the petal tips. But if it's sitting at a concierge desk for ninety minutes while your recipient is at work, you'll notice it by the time it arrives.
I had a bloke ring from Perth once, probably 2012 when I was still taking calls from the Pottsville office. He was sending anniversary flowers to his partner in a North Shore apartment. Didn't know the building or whether there was a front desk. Didn't know how long the flowers might sit before she got home. He was stressed about all of it before he'd even finished explaining why he was calling.
I told him to go with a boxed arrangement. It's not always cheaper. But it's about format. A well-built box is self-contained. No open vase, no immediate water loss, sits flat on a reception desk without tipping. You can leave it for two or three hours before it needs water and it'll still present properly. A bouquet needs a vase within about an hour before you start to see the difference. The box buys you time, and for an apartment delivery with a front desk, that time matters.
If your delivery is going to one of the older terrace houses off Miller Street or Willoughby Road, a bouquet is fine. Most people will be home, there's a front door. But if it's a newer building, add a note when you order. Tell us there's a front desk and no concierge after hours. The florist will make the right call on format once they know.
Our partner florists in or close to Crows Nest source from Flemington Markets in western Sydney, Australia's largest wholesale flower market. They're there early. Whatever came in fresh that morning goes into your arrangement. They build it by hand and deliver it before the day ends. Your flowers haven't been in an Australia Post box. Nothing was packed in a warehouse three days ago.

* How it works. You order, we connect with a partner florist in or close to Crows Nest, they deliver fresh. No post. No boxes.
The restaurants on Willoughby Road mean anniversary flowers here often head somewhere nice before dinner. The apartments around the Metro area mean birthdays and get wells arrive at front desks as often as front doors. Have a look at our flower arrangements before you decide. Most people who browse end up sending something they wouldn't have thought of when they started.
A good partner florist covering Crows Nest will source whatever's best from Flemington that morning. Our anniversary flowers range includes seasonal varieties alongside roses. Tell us if you have a strong preference, or let the florist make the call based on what looks good right now.
Most people default to roses for anniversaries. Nothing wrong with that. But I spent fifteen years watching how different stems aged, and if you want something still open and vibrant on day seven, Oriental lilies or lisianthus give you more for the same money. Roses peak hard. Three really good days, then they want to be in the bin. A proper stem of lisianthus will still be performing a week later. If you want them still going when she looks at them a week on, go lisianthus.
Order by 2pm weekdays and a partner florist in or close to Crows Nest will have fresh birthday flowers at the door that same day. Works for a home address, an apartment building, or a workplace on the main strip.
Florist's Choice for a birthday is underrated. People think specifying the stems gives them more control over quality. It actually does the opposite. Your florist has whatever's freshest that morning. Florist's Choice lets them build around what genuinely came in today, not what was photographed three months ago for the website. I've watched florists build things from that morning's stock you wouldn't get any other way. Let them drive.
Royal North Shore Hospital is right on the border of Crows Nest and St Leonards, and a lot of our deliveries in this area go to patients there or to people recovering at home nearby. Our get well flowers can go direct to the ward or to a home address. Just specify which when you order.
Hospital rooms and heavy fragrance don't mix. Stargazer lilies and Oriental varieties smell wonderful in a garden but the ward staff at Royal North Shore will ask you to remove them once the anthers open. Bright gerberas in a box are a better call for a ward delivery. The colour works, the format sits flat on the bedside table, and nobody's relocating it to the corridor. That's the practical version of "get well soon."
Our sympathy flowers can be delivered to a home address, a funeral home, or direct to a service. Tell us which when you order and a partner florist in or close to Crows Nest will build and deliver to the right location.
Sympathy arrangements work best in whites, soft creams, and muted greens. Not because they're the default. Those tones don't compete with what's already heavy in the room. I learned early to keep vivid colour out of sympathy work. The arrangement that would be perfect for a birthday can feel wrong the moment it walks through a funeral home door. Whites and creams sit quietly. That's what you want them to do.
Some orders have no specific occasion. A thank you, a just because, something to say you're thinking of someone. Our Florist's Choice from $74.50 lets the florist work with what's genuinely fresh that morning. The Deal of the Day from $75.50 does the same. If budget is the priority, flowers under $60 give you the same quality and care, just a smaller arrangement.
The Deal of the Day gets misread as a bargain option. It's not really that. It's built around what's at its best at Flemington that morning. The florist follows the supply rather than fighting it. I've seen Deal of the Day outperform products twice the price. The florist builds what's genuinely fresh that morning, not what was in a photo on the website three months ago. There's a real difference in what arrives.
Call us on 1300 360 469 Monday to Saturday, 8am to 5pm, or order online any time. You can also reach us at [email protected].
Same day cutoff: 2pm weekdays, 10am Saturdays. The 2pm weekday window gives the florist enough time to source from the market, condition the stems, build the arrangement, and deliver it that day. Saturdays close earlier because the routes are compressed. Most partner florists wrap deliveries by midday and there's no afternoon buffer to absorb a late order. Push past either cutoff and you're asking them to skip conditioning steps that directly affect how long the flowers last.
No Sunday delivery. The wholesale markets close Saturday. Flowers sitting in cool rooms over the weekend have already lost two days of vase life before they reach you. We'd rather not deliver them than deliver something that was never going to perform properly.
Delivery fee: $16.95. The real cost of a hand delivery in Sydney is higher than that. We carry the difference because we think it's the right way to run a delivery business.
Once your order is through, it goes to a partner florist in or close to Crows Nest. They source the stems, build the arrangement that day, and deliver it by hand. We don't post flowers. Nothing arrives in a cardboard box that was sitting in a fulfilment centre three days ago.
If something's not right, if the arrangement arrived damaged, or it doesn't match what you ordered, let us know within 24 hours. A photo from your end and a photo from the florist help us work out what happened. Call 1300 360 469, email [email protected], or use the live chat on the website.
