Same Day Flowers Delivery - Australia Wide!
Curramore is a same-day address for Lily's Florist: any weekday order in before 2pm goes out that afternoon, to a farm gate, a front step or a room in care. Our partner florist near Curramore makes it that day. For someone at Erowal, the aged-care home in Maleny, put their room number in the notes. Choose from our expertly curated range below and pay securely online, or call us and one of our friendly, helpful, Australian-based team will read the whole order back before you hang up.
In a house on the range, a closed bud is the good news
Houses up on the range tend to run cooler than the coast, and cool air slows a flower down. Warmth is what pushes a bud open, so in a cool house a stem of lilies opens one bud after another and the bunch still looks new at the end of the week. Roses slow down the same way. I learned to judge them at the bench at Salt in Kingscliff: once the green sepals under a bud have folded back to about ninety degrees, it has the sugar it needs, and it will open fully in its own time instead of sitting there closed.
Keep them off the shelf by the heater, where the dry air crisps the petal edges, and out of the afternoon sun. A closed bud on the first day is nothing to worry about.
Pick the reason you are sending. Two lines for each, short enough for the small card.
Happy birthday. Wish I was up there for it.
Happy 60th. Cake is on me next time I am out your way.
Rest up. The paddocks can wait.
Get well soon. Everyone keeps asking after you.
Thanks for keeping an eye on the place while we were away.
You got us through a hard week. Thank you.
Still the best view on the range.
Happy anniversary. Here is to plenty more.
Now choose the bunch it goes with
The flowers get their week or two. The card tends to end up on the fridge for a lot longer.
Orders for Curramore tend to go to one of three places: a house on a working property, a room in care down in Maleny, or a family kitchen after a funeral. Each wants something a little different, and our native flowers, which take a long drive in their stride, are a safe start for any of them.
The property has been sold or handed on, and the person you are sending to has one room at Erowal instead of a whole farm. The saddest kind of move and, most days, the right one. Put their full name and room number on the order; in our experience that is what gets flowers from the front desk to the right door. Thinking of you flowers do the job, and "Thinking of you, and missing our cuppas" on the card says the rest.
Around 2008 Andrew took lilies to Noble Lakeside Park, the retirement village a few minutes from our Kingscliff shop, with Asha (nine months old, not on the books) screaming in the back. Half the residents drifted to the glass, a lady in a cardigan told him they had had grandchildren quieter than that (and then that Asha was gorgeous, which she was), and he came home with pollen down his shirt looking like the intern. Erowal is a long way from Kingscliff, but a delivery into any care home is a small event for the whole corridor, so it helps if what arrives actually fits the room.
Anna's steer: go low and compact. Flowers about one and a half times the height of their container sit right on a bedside table, and an arrangement already in its own container needs no vase from anyone. A tall bunch tends to end up on the windowsill, and that is where the sun finds it.
It is their birthday, they are on a property off Curramore Road or the Maleny-Kenilworth Road, and you are hours away (if they will be at work in town that day, send it there instead). The number out here is on the letterbox at the road and the house can be well up the drive, so describe the gate and add a mobile someone will answer. Birthday flowers are the easy start, and if it is a big one, there is a range just for a 60th.
Inside, keep them clear of the fruit bowl. Ripening fruit gives off ethylene, which flowers read as the signal to finish, and carnations that would go a couple of weeks on the dining table curl within days beside the bananas.
Someone has died, and on a property the work does not stop for it, which somehow makes the week harder. Service flowers go through the funeral director, so put their name and the service time in the notes. For the family, the house a day or two later is often better, once the visitors thin out, and our sympathy flowers for home are made for that. On the card, "So sorry. Thinking of every one of you." is plenty.
White shows every mark. Put it in the coolest room, out of direct sun, and white sympathy flowers stay clean at the edges far longer than most people expect. Strip any leaf below the waterline; it rots first, and the rot stops the stems drinking.
Plenty of orders never fit a heading: a good season, a grandchild on the way, or just missing someone who lives a long way up a winding road. Anna would say roses, and for once she and I agree.
Roses love a cool room. In one, a good rose gives you about ten days to a fortnight, opening a little further each morning.

In before 2pm on a weekday and it heads out Curramore way today.
Best-Selling Birthday Flowers, Sent Today2pm weekdays for same day: the florist needs the afternoon to make it and drive it out.
10am Saturday, because Saturday is a short working day for the florist.
No Sunday delivery, except Mother's Day.
The number off the letterbox and the road it sits on (Curramore Road, Bytheway Lane or the Maleny-Kenilworth Road), what the gate looks like, and a mobile that gets answered. For Erowal: full name and room.
Whoever is at the house, or a neighbour if you name one. Happy for it to be left? Say where: a shaded verandah beats the front step. In care, it tends to go to the front desk first. Order before the cutoff and it can be at the house today.
Once you have paid, there is nothing to chase. You will not hear from us unless something needs sorting, and I spent years on the phones in our shop telling people that silence is the good kind.
To check it landed, ring 1300 360 469 (7am to 6pm weekdays, from 10am Saturday). To change the card or the address, email [email protected]. If it arrives wrong, send us a photo that day. Tell us. Fixing it is our job, and I would hate you to sit on it.
The whole thing, in order. The order reaches our partner florist near Curramore. They make it that day, write the card and drive it out on the afternoon run. Shut gate, or nobody at the door, and they usually ring the mobile on the order. Substitution caused its share of phone calls back in the shop years, so the rule is fixed: if a stem is not at market that morning, the swap stays in the same colour and value and is noted on the order. The cheapest fix we have, then and now, is a phone call from the driveway.
After that, it is between them and the flowers.
