Same Day Delivery - Fingal Head Wide
Fingal Head is literally just down the road from where we started, where our entire flower delivery business began in fact, in Kingscliff at shop 1/98 Marine Parade back in 2006. My name is Siobhan, my partner Andrew and I own Lily's Florist, and Fingal Head has been part of our lives since we moved to the area all those years ago, pregnant with our first daughter Asha, who's now about to graduate year 12, which is just wild to think about.

* Yes, this was the place, those of you who have been around the place for a while will most likely remember it!
These days, we still make the drive to Fingal Head about once a month, usually for breakfast at Salt & Stone Fingal (which changed hands recently) where we go to just chill out and reset, then a casual walk along the Tweed River. Andrew always gets the breakfast burrito, I get the vegan breakfast, Ivy goes for the buckwheat pancakes, and Asha orders the eggs benedict every single time. It's become our thing, sitting there looking out at the water, usually talking about the business or netball or just life, and it reminds us why we stayed in this part of the world after leaving Sydney back in 2006.
The story of how we ended up delivering flowers to Fingal Head, and everywhere else for that matter, is kind of a cool yarn if I don't say so myself. Back when we bought Kingscliff Florist in 2006, we actually had zero plans to become a national flower delivery service, we were more interested in scaling back the flowers and building up an organic gift shop with skincare, baby products, that sort of thing. But the previous owner had just taken out a Yellow Pages advertisement (yeah, the book), and our phone started ringing off the hook with people wanting to send flowers, not just locally to Kingscliff and Fingal Head, but to random places like Taree, Bendigo, Townsville, Cairns, places we couldn't help with at all.

* This is me, well us anyways. Andrew, Ivy, me, and Asha.
For months we'd get these calls, sometimes 40+ a day, and we'd have to say "sorry, we can't help you with that," which was painful because we were barely making $20 a day in the shop some weeks and here were people literally calling us wanting to give us money. I remember one particularly quiet June day in 2007, after our 25th call that day asking us to send flowers somewhere we couldn't, Andrew and I just looked at each other and thought, there's got to be something we can do with all these calls. That moment, sitting there in that daggy lime green shop (it really was the most hideous colour you've ever seen), changed everything.
What we ended up doing was approaching local florists in the areas people were calling about and asking them if they'd be interested in helping us. We wouldn't charge them any membership fees, we only asked that they add a few more flowers to each bouquet to cover a small commission we'd agreed on upfront. The first florist we approached outside our immediate area was in Murwillumbah, I remember driving out there with baby Asha in the car seat, absolutely terrified they'd laugh us out of the shop because this concept was so foreign back then.
But she said yes. And then the next florist said yes. And the one after that. By 2009 we'd built enough momentum that we created Lily's Florist as a national brand, sold our retail shop, moved fully online, and started building a proper network. Today we work with over 800 partner florists across Australia, all operating the same way, real florists in real shops making real flowers, not warehouse production lines shipping via Australia Post overnight like some of our competitors do.

For Fingal Head deliveries, because it's so close to Kingscliff, our partner florists in the area handle everything locally. Your flowers are made fresh by a trained florist who knows the area, delivered by someone who probably knows every street in Fingal Head without needing GPS, arriving the same day if you order before 2PM on weekdays (10AM on Saturdays). There's something nice about knowing your flowers aren't travelling hundreds of kilometres in a box, they're being made down the road and delivered within the hour most times.
Living in this area for nearly two decades now, we've seen all sorts of reasons people send flowers to Fingal Head. Birthday flowers are huge, obviously, whether it's for a milestone like a 30th, 50th, or 70th, or just because someone you care about is having another trip around the sun and you want to make it special. There's something about getting flowers delivered to your door in a place like Fingal Head, where life moves a bit slower and the ocean's right there, that just hits different than getting them in a big city.
New baby flowers are another big one, especially with young families in the area. We get quite a few orders for new parents in Fingal Head, which makes sense given how family-oriented the community is. The beaches are perfect for kids, the streets are quiet, it's the kind of place people move to when they're starting families or wanting their kids to grow up somewhere a bit more relaxed than the city.
And then there's just because flowers, which are honestly some of our favourite orders to process because there's no occasion at all, just someone thinking about someone else and wanting to brighten their day. Those ones always feel a bit more personal somehow, like there's a real story behind the order even if we don't know what it is.
In 2024 and again in 2025, Lily's Florist earned a Feefo Trusted Service Award, which we're genuinely proud of because getting that award in the flower industry is not easy. Flowers are subjective, right, one person sees a bouquet and thinks it's absolutely stunning, another person sees the exact same bouquet and thinks it's a bit ordinary. It's like art, everyone's got their own take on what looks good.
That's why we partnered with Feefo back in 2013, even though honestly it scared us a bit at the time. Feefo only collects reviews from actual verified customers who've made real purchases, we can't delete the bad ones, we can't edit them, we have no control over what people say. It's completely independent, which means when you read reviews on our Feefo page, you're reading genuine feedback from real people who actually ordered flowers from us.
To qualify for the Trusted Service Award, a business needs at least 50 reviews averaging 4 stars or better in a 12-month period. We got over 3,000 reviews in that timeframe, with more than 2,400 of them being 4 or 5 stars. That's over 60 times the minimum required, which still kind of blows our minds when we think about it. You can read what our customers are actually saying about on our reviews page, it's all there, the good and the occasional not-so-good, because that's just how it works when you put yourself out there like this.

We deliver same day to Fingal Head Monday through Saturday, which is something we've been doing since 2009 and never really stopped doing because it's what people need. If you order before 2PM on a weekday, your flowers will be made and delivered that same day. On Saturdays the cutoff is 10AM because florists need time to actually make the flowers and get them delivered before the weekend rush hits.
The delivery fee is $16.95 for Fingal Head, which is pretty standard for the area. If for some reason there's an issue with delivery, our Australian-based customer service team (including Anna, who's an ex-florist and has been with us for 15 years now) will sort it out. We're contactable 6 days a week by phone on 1300 360-469, by email, or by live chat, because unlike some of our competitors who don't even have contact details on their websites, we actually want people to be able to reach us if something goes wrong or if they just have a question.
Despite growing from that single shop in Kingscliff to a network of 800+ florists, we're still the same two people making all the decisions, usually at the dinner table or while driving the kids to netball. We don't have boardrooms, we don't have a marketing team or a hoard of lawyers or offshore call centres. It's just us, Andrew and me, and maybe Asha soon once she graduates, making this thing work the way we've always done it.
When you order flowers to Fingal Head through Lily's Florist, you're not ordering from some faceless corporate entity, you're ordering from a business run by a Mum and Dad who still live in Kingscliff, who still remember what it was like trying to make $20 a day in that daggy shop back in 2007, who still drive down to Fingal Head for breakfast burritos and buckwheat pancakes and eggs benedict at Salt & Stone. That's who we are, and that's who we've always been, even as the business has grown into something we never could have imagined when we first started answering those Yellow Pages calls all those years ago.
