How This Works

Lily's Florist is a network of over 800 partner florists across Australia. When you order flowers to Hawthorn, our system routes the order to a local florist based on what they have in stock that day. Real florist, real shop, someone who knows the difference between Glenferrie Road and Burwood Road.

We don't charge our florists membership fees like the big wire services. They add a few extra flowers to cover our commission. Better value for you, no fees for them.

We've Actually Been There

Andrew's Aunty Mel and Uncle Johnny live in East Kew, fifteen minutes up the road. Cousins Victoria and Adam. That's why we've been to Melbourne with the kids twice.

First trip we stayed on Wattle Road in Hawthorn. Ate at Vaporetto Bar & Eatery one night, Rococo the next, Osteria 20 the night after. Three Italian restaurants in four nights, wasn't planned, just kept happening. Did the Brighton bathing boxes, the laneways, Luna Park.

High tea at The Windsor was on my bucket list. Fancy beyond belief. Ivy was 8, thirsty after five hours of walking, drank her soda water too fast. Burped so loud in that quiet room that Andrew wanted to hide under the table. Asha went bright red. I sat there half mortified half laughing.

Second trip was during COVID, that weird window when certain postcodes could travel. Walked through a plastic corridor at the airport, workers in full PPE, got outside and everything was weirdly normal. St Kilda, Matilda at the theatre, ice skating near Flinders Station.

We send flowers to Aunty Mel when we can't visit in person. That's the whole point of what we do.

How We Started

In 2006 we bought a florist and gift shop in Kingscliff NSW. Knew nothing about flowers, accountant said don't buy it, we bought it anyway with a baby on the way.

The previous owner had just paid for a Yellow Pages ad. The book. Three months later our phone was ringing forty times a day. People wanting to send flowers everywhere. Taree, Townsville, Melbourne. We kept saying sorry, we can't help.

Then one day, maybe $20 in the till, we thought there has to be something we can do with these calls. Found florists in those towns, asked them to help, they said yes. By 2008 we were delivering to Hawthorn. Now it's over 800 partners across Australia. Still a mum and dad business, still making decisions at the dinner table.
