Same Day Flowers Delivery - Australia Wide!
Flowers can reach Kings Beach this afternoon on any weekday order in before 2pm, made that day by one of our partner florists close to Kings Beach. Lily's Florist is reviewed on Feefo, where we can't edit or delete a word. For a holiday unit, add the building and their check-out day. For a service at St Andrew's on Upper Gay Terrace, add the start time and the florist works back from it. Pick from our same-day range below and buy online, or call us and one of our friendly, helpful, Australian-based team will have it sorted before they're back from the beach.
In a one-room Kings Beach unit, the fruit bowl and the flowers share the same air
A lot of the apartments above Kings Beach are one room from the kitchen bench to the balcony door, and in a room like that, the fruit bowl is what shortens a bunch. Ripening fruit gives off ethylene, a gas you can't smell, and flowers take it as the signal to finish: carnations curl at the petal edges, waxflower drops every tiny flower at once, lily buds fall before they open. In a warm kitchen that can happen inside a day. The same room is close enough.
The first time I watched a bucket of waxflower shatter on the bench, the bucket was sitting next to somebody's lunch bananas. So here's the fix for whoever unpacks the flowers: the fruit goes in the fridge for the week, and the bunch gets the table. Kept away from fruit, carnations can go a fortnight in a room that isn't too warm. Chrysanthemums don't care either way. The fridge is the other room.
Orders into Kings Beach go to holiday apartments and to people who live here all year, and some of them are simply flowers for no particular reason. These three take the most thought.
Someone you love is at Kings Beach for the week, and the birthday or the anniversary falls right in the middle of it. Send the flowers to the apartment while they're here, or to their home once they're back. For the apartment, the notes need the building name, the unit number, a mobile and the day they check out.
I learned about check-out days in 2007. A woman in Melbourne ordered birthday roses for her sister, who was staying at the Kingscliff Beach Holiday Park on Marine Parade, the same street as our shop. Close enough to walk, so I walked. The office found the booking straight away. She had checked out at ten, a day early, because of the rain. It was eleven. I carried the roses back up Marine Parade past everyone who had watched me carry them down. Plenty of Kings Beach holiday apartments turn over by the week in the same way, which is why the check-out day in the notes is the detail that saves the order.
Anna's call: a holiday unit has whatever vase the owner left behind, sometimes a jug, sometimes nothing. A boxed arrangement is its own vase, sits on a bench without tipping, and rides home in the car at the end of the week.
You've read the notice twice. The service is at St Andrew's Anglican Church, or there's no service to send to and the family is at home. For the church, pick from our funeral flowers and put the service time and the family's surname in the notes, and the florist works back from the start time. In our experience a church takes flowers in without fuss once the notes say whose service they're for. For the house, sympathy flowers for home suit a smaller room.
Flowers change nothing about what happened. People still remember who sent them. On the card, "Thinking of you all, with love" is enough.
Whites, creams and soft greens sit quietly in a church. White lisianthus and white chrysanthemum hold for days in a warm room, so whatever goes home with the family afterwards still looks right a week on.
A friend lent you their Kings Beach unit for the week, or a neighbour has been keeping an eye on it while it sits empty, and a bottle of wine left on the bench feels thin. Send thank-you flowers to wherever they actually live, timed for the day you head home. It doesn't need to be big. A bunch of yellow flowers says thanks without a speech.
Sunflowers and yellow gerberas both want clean water. A gerbera stem is hollow, old water clogs it, and the head bends at the neck. Fresh water every second day keeps them standing.
Some orders never had a heading: a friend who has just moved up for good, a new neighbour two floors down, a text that says "saw this, thought of you". Anna's pick for these is natives: they suit almost anyone, and they last.
Leucadendron and protea, with a banksia if there's one in. Leucadendron goes two to four weeks in a room at twenty-odd degrees, and protea drinks hard, so top the water up every day or two. Once the softer stems around them have finished, the leucadendron dries where it stands and keeps going on a shelf for months.

In before 2pm on a weekday and it goes out this afternoon, so add a mobile in case they're down on the sand.
Arrangements That Need No Vase2pm on weekdays for delivery the same day, so the florist can build it and still get it out that afternoon.
10am on Saturday, a shorter day in the workroom.
No Sunday delivery, except Mother's Day.
After the cutoff, you choose the delivery date at checkout.
The building name as well as the street number, since several blocks can share a street. The unit number, a mobile for the recipient, and for a holiday stay, the day they check out. For St Andrew's, the service time and the family's surname.
People who live here all year are often home. Holiday guests are often out most of the day, and from what our florists have seen, a mobile in the notes is what gets them to the door when the intercom goes unanswered and there's nobody on a front desk. Get it in before the cutoff and the florist has the rest of the day to find them.
Celebration Flowers, Sent Today
You get an email confirming the order. It goes to a florist in or close to Kings Beach, who makes it on the day you picked and writes the card from exactly what you typed. That's the whole chain.
To change something, email [email protected] or ring 1300 360 469, 7am to 6pm weekdays and 7am to 10am Saturday. If what arrives looks wrong, send us a photo the same day and we fix it.
In our years on the phones, 2006 to 2013, the holiday orders were the ones people rang back about, worried, because their sister hadn't called. She hadn't called because she was at the pool, or asleep after lunch, or out for fish and chips (which is the whole point of a week away, really). So don't read anything into a quiet phone. When the thank-you does come, it's often a photo of the flowers on the balcony rail with the ocean behind them, and I always thought that was the nicest kind.
Somewhere above Kings Beach, a card with your name on it gets propped against the vase, or the jug, or whatever the unit had.
