Andrew grew up in Strathfield and Summer Hill, closer to the city centre, but his school friend group is spread all over Sydney. His friends in the Narellan area meant regular trips out southwest for family gatherings, birthdays, the usual rounds of catching up that happen when you've got a big family.
What struck him about Lurnea and the surrounding suburbs was how different they felt from the inner west where he spent most of his childhood. Out here, the streets are wider, the blocks bigger, everything spread out more. Less about fancy cafes and more about parks where kids actually play cricket, backyards big enough for a Hills Hoist and a veggie patch, neighbours who still say g'day over the fence.
One of his friends, Mikey, lived not far from Lurnea, and Andrew remembers those Sunday afternoon drives out from Strathfield, about 40 minutes in decent traffic, longer if you hit it wrong. The M5 wasn't even finished back then, so you'd wind through Canterbury, Bankstown, and eventually hit the Liverpool area. It was proper suburbia, the kind where people stayed for decades, raised their kids, knew the local fish and chip shop by name.
We've been delivering to Lurnea and the greater Liverpool area since our early partner florist network days, back when we were building connections suburb by suburb. Our partner florists handle deliveries across Lurnea, Cartwright, Warwick Farm, and surrounding suburbs. Same day delivery if you order before 2pm on weekdays or 10am on Saturdays. We deliver to homes by 6pm, businesses by 5pm.

* How our partner florist model works. You order, we connect you to a florist like the ones in Liverpool, they deliver fresh. No warehouses, no overnight post.
Anna, our qualified florist with over fifteen years on the bench before she moved to bookkeeping, knows southwestern Sydney summer heat. "Lurnea and Liverpool get hot," she explains. "Proper 38-degree days where the western suburbs just cook. Flowers lose water fast in low humidity, especially if they're sitting in a van for deliveries across multiple suburbs. We use hydration packs for longer delivery runs, keeps moisture around the stems so they don't stress before they even arrive."
That's the kind of detail you don't get from warehouse operations shipping flowers overnight in boxes. Our florists are local, they understand the conditions, they adjust accordingly.
Birthday flowers are our most popular category. You've probably ordered flowers online before and been disappointed. The photo showed a dozen roses, ten arrived with filler We photograph arrangements our florists actually make, not stock images from some corporate library.
Anna trained our team years ago on consistency. "The photo is the contract," she told them. "If someone orders a dozen red roses, they get a dozen red roses, not ten with some filler to bulk it out. If the arrangement shows three sunflowers, there's three sunflowers in the vase. It's not complicated, it's just honesty." Our birthday flowers for mum and birthday flowers for a friend categories are popular in Lurnea. Bright, cheerful, proper flowers that last more than two days.
We're only a few weeks into 2026 and our Australian Natives Bunch is already our third highest seller accounting for 13% of total sales. Ahead of roses, lilies, sympathy flowers, the lot, and southwestern Sydney has embraced them hard. There's something about banksias, waratahs, grevilleas, and eucalyptus that feels right for Australian celebrations.
Anna has a particular appreciation for natives. "Woody-stemmed natives like banksias and proteas have non-porous wood," she explains. "That makes water uptake tricky compared to soft-stemmed flowers like roses. The fix is to gently crush the base of the stem with your secateurs. Sounds rough, but it increases the surface area so the flower can actually drink. They'll last a fortnight if you treat them right."
Native arrangements work brilliantly for milestone birthdays, 70th birthday flowers or 80th birthday flowers, because they carry that distinctly Australian character. They're tough, they last, they don't try to be something they're not. Seems fitting for people who've earned a few decades.

* Our Kingscliff shop on Marine Parade where this whole thing started. That baby crawling around on the floor grew up to be Asha, who's about to graduate Year 12.
Lily's Florist is Australian owned and operated by us, Andrew and me. Not a franchise, not owned by some offshore entity, genuinely a Mum and Dad business that grew from a single flower shop in Kingscliff back in 2006. We still live in Kingscliff, our daughters Asha and Ivy are involved in business decisions made at the dinner table, and our call centre is in Armidale, staffed by Australians.
Our partner florist network spans over 800 real florists with actual bricks and mortar shops across Australia. When you order from Lily's Florist for Lurnea delivery, your flowers are made by a florist who lives in or near Liverpool, who knows the area, who takes pride in their work because their name is on it. That's the difference. We're not hiding behind algorithms or warehouse fulfilment.
We partner with Feefo, a Google-endorsed independent review platform, Feefo only collects reviews from people who've actually bought something. We can't delete the bad ones or fake the good ones. Feefo only collects reviews from actual customers who've actually purchased something. We can't delete bad reviews, we can't get mates to write fake five-star reviews.

* This badge means over 3,000 real customers reviewed us in 2024 and we averaged four stars or higher. Feefo won't let you fake it.
In 2024 and 2025, we won Feefo Trusted Service Awards, which requires at least 50 reviews averaging four stars or higher. We received over 3,000 reviews in that time, roughly 60 times the minimum required. About 80% were four or five stars.
Here's a recent review from Wendy in Australia:
"Very informative, prices are reasonable, quality flowers and delivered in timely manner as requested. Staff very helpful - phoned from interstate to order the flowers."
That's what we're about. Reasonable prices, quality flowers, helpful staff, delivery when we say we'll deliver.
Order online at the Lily's Florist website or call 1300 360 469 (Monday to Friday 7am-6pm, Saturday 7am-12:30pm). Delivery fee is $16.95 for Lurnea and surrounding suburbs. Same day delivery if you order before 2pm weekdays or 10am Saturdays. We don't deliver Sundays because flower markets are closed Saturday afternoon, and any florist delivering Sunday is using Friday stock that's already lost about 30% of its vase life.
Siobhan is co-founder of Lily's Florist alongside her partner Andrew. They started the business in 2006 after buying a small flower and gift shop in Kingscliff, NSW, against their accountant's advice and with a baby on the way. We started with one failing shop in Kingscliff. Today they work with 800+ partner florists across Australia.
Siobhan and Andrew still run the business from Kingscliff, making decisions at the dinner table with their daughters Asha (19) and Ivy (15). They don't have boardrooms, marketing teams, or offshore call centres. Just a Mum and Dad who believe flowers should be fresh, service should be honest, and Australian-owned should actually mean Australian-owned.

* Our family in 2026. Siobhan and I started Lily's in Kingscliff when Asha was a baby. Now we coordinate 800+ partners from our dinner table.
This page about Lurnea flower delivery reflects Siobhan's perspective on Andrew's Sydney childhood connections, their evolution from retail to online, and the genuine relationships they've built with florists across southwestern Sydney over nearly two decades.
