Same Day Delivery - Miami Wide
Miami holds a strange kind of nostalgia for us. Before Lily's Florist existed, before we had 800+ partner florists, before any of it, we were spending hours in Flannerys Miami trying to figure out what our little shop could become.
My name is Siobhan. In 2006, Andrew and I bought a florist and gift shop on in Kingscliff. Our accountant said do not do it. We had no experience, a baby on the way, and the shop was painted the most hideous lime green you have ever seen. We bought it anyway.

* The Lime-Green Reality. This is the shop that started it all. While we were wandering the aisles of Flannerys in Miami looking for inspiration, this was the physical base where the "accidental" flower business was born.
The plan was to scale back the flowers and build up the gifting side. Organic skincare, food, baby products. We had this vision of a beautiful store filled with thoughtful, curated things. But we needed inspiration. We needed to see what was out there, what worked, what did not.
Flannerys Miami became our research lab. Twice a week, sometimes more, for months we would drive up, more like trudge, the Gold Coast Highway and wander the aisles for hours. Studying their product range. Reading labels. Taking mental notes on how things were displayed. Andrew would be scribbling ideas on receipts while I tested skincare samples with a baby on my hip. We bought so much stuff from that store. Probiotics, organic baby formula, skincare brands we had never heard of. Half of it ended up in our shop, the other half we just used ourselves because we got hooked. Those Flannerys trips shaped what our little Kingscliff shop became, even if the flowers eventually took over everything.
> More on the shop days to present day
The previous owner had paid for a Yellow Pages advertisement just before we bought the business. The book. Within months we were drowning in calls. 40+ a day for flowers. Kingscliff, Bilinga, Tugun, and places much further. Miami came up regularly. People wanting to send flowers to family, to friends in those beachside apartments. We kept saying sorry, we do not deliver there.
One quiet June day, barely $25 in the till, we stopped saying no. The idea was simple. Find florists in those areas, ask them to help with our orders, send them business without charging fees. From 2006 to 2013 we never charged our partners a cent. Just a small commission covered by extra stems. Every florist said yes. That model became Lily's Florist in 2009, and today we deliver to Miami through our network of over 800 partner florists across Australia.
We still live in Kingscliff and the Gold Coast remains woven through our weeks. Our girls went to school in Reedy Creek for six years. Ivy plays HDNA netball in Mudgeeraba on Saturdays and basketball at Carrara on Friday nights. After Carrara we stop at Courtside Cafe before the drive home. Asha spent four years coaching kids sports at Tallebudgera Rec Centre. We are in Coolangatta constantly for Top Noodle and the Strand campus.

* The Clueless Optimists, Grown Up. Back in 2006, we were research-obsessed parents with one baby. Today, with two daughters who have practically grown up on the Gold Coast sidelines, Miami is just a familiar stop on the way to Carrara or Mudgeeraba.
Miami sits right there on the way to everywhere. We still drive past Flannerys sometimes and it takes us back to those early days. Two clueless optimists with a baby, wandering organic grocery aisles, dreaming about what a shop could be. We had no idea flowers would eventually become everything.
I asked Anna (Qualified Florist, 15+ years) what she sees in Miami flower orders. Miami has a relaxed coastal vibe but also a lot of families and retirees. The orders reflect that mix.
Anna (Qualified Florist, 15+ years) says Miami gets a lot of birthday orders, probably because of the older demographic in the area. "Birthdays call for colour and movement. We use a lot of seasonal blooms for Miami birthday orders because they give the best value and the freshest result. In summer that might be sunflowers, bright gerberas, and stock. Stock is underrated. It has that beautiful spire shape, adds height to an arrangement, and the scent fills a room. Older recipients especially love scented flowers. It takes them back to gardens they remember."
With more retirees in the area, get well flowers are common to Miami. Anna (Qualified Florist, 15+ years) says presentation matters for these orders. "Get well arrangements need to be easy. The recipient might be unwell, tired, not up for fussing with a vase. We often send these in a box arrangement or a ceramic vessel so there is nothing to do except enjoy them. For stems, chrysanthemums are reliable because they last and last. Mix them with some spray roses and a touch of greenery and you have something cheerful that will still look good in a week."
Anna says Miami also sees its share of sympathy orders. "Sympathy flowers need to feel respectful without being too formal. Whites and soft creams work well. Lilies are traditional for sympathy, and for good reason. They have presence, they are elegant, and the scent is distinctive without being overwhelming. We pair them with white roses and soft foliage like dusty miller. The key is restraint. You do not want the arrangement to look busy. It should feel calm and considered."

Your flowers are made fresh that morning by a trained florist in a real shop. Not a warehouse production line. Not flowers boxed days ago and sent overnight with Australia Post. When you order to Miami through Lily's Florist, a local florist selects the stems, creates the arrangement, and a courier who knows the area delivers it to the door.

* The Research-Led Model. Just like we studied the labels at Flannerys to find the best for our customers, we built our business model to be fairer.
One customer said it was "easy to pick what flowers you would like" and was "extremely impressed with the fast delivery." Another described their experience as "easy to navigate and easy to use" with a "good selection of flowers." A third mentioned the "flowers delivered were as displayed on the website" and that the recipient "was delighted."
We partnered with Feefo in 2013 because we wanted real feedback from real customers. Feefo only collects reviews from verified purchasers. We cannot fake them, delete the bad ones, or get friends to write nice things. Since 2013 we have collected almost 23,000 reviews.
In 2024 and 2025 we received Feefo Trusted Service Awards for customer service. To qualify, a business needs at least 50 reviews averaging 4 stars or above in a 12 month period. We exceeded that significantly, with the vast majority of our reviews being 4 or 5 stars.

One customer summed it up: "Wasn't sure if any florists were open just after New Year but found Lily's and the lady I spoke to was so nice and helpful. Highly recommend them."
Delivery to Miami is $16.95, which we subsidise because the real cost is often higher. For same day delivery, get your order in before 2pm Monday to Friday or 10am Saturday.
