Same Day Delivery - New Town Wide
We drove through New Town at least four or five times that week. It's the main artery into Hobart from the north, New Town Road, and every time we headed anywhere the GPS took us straight through. The Tesla was still causing us grief with the charging, still relying on public chargers because the Airbnb situation never got resolved, and by this point we'd stopped complaining about the cold. Sort of. Two degrees when we arrived in Hobart, coming from Northern NSW where it was probably 22. That first morning the shock was real. By day four in New Town we'd acclimatised. Sort of.

* This is us in Hobart last year. Andrew, Ivy me, and Asha. Rugged up!
What struck me about New Town was the houses. Grand old Federation places, Georgian mansions, leafy streets lined with these beautiful old homes that looked like they cost about eight times what we paid for our place in Kingscliff. Hobart's oldest suburb apparently, settled a week after Sullivans Cove. You can tell. The bones are old but it's aged well, unlike me after a week of Ivy rating every matcha in Tasmania. Bellerive was still winning at that point. Cocomo+Co. She wouldn't let it go.
We send flowers to New Town all the time through our partner florists in Hobart.
You're about to spend money on something you'll never see. That's the problem with ordering flowers online. You're trusting a stranger to get it right, hoping it arrives, hoping it looks decent, and if any of that goes wrong you're the one who looks like you didn't try. Not the florist. You.
Here's what people actually worry about:
Will they look anything like the picture?
Depends who makes them. Some online florists use warehouse workers following a recipe. Ours are made by trained florists who run actual shops and care what goes out the door because their name's on it. Not Lily's Florist. Their name. Their reputation. That matters.
What if they post them from Melbourne?
This is the Tasmania problem. Most big online flower companies are based on the mainland. Your order goes to a warehouse in Melbourne or Sydney, gets boxed up, posted to Tassie. Takes days. No water, no temperature control, bouncing around in the back of a mail van. By the time it arrives in New Town it's been through the ringer.
We don't post flowers. We have partner florists in Hobart. Same day. Made fresh that morning, delivered that afternoon.
What if something goes wrong?
Call us. We actually answer. 1300 360 469. Australian based staff, some of them ex-florists, six days a week. If something's not right we'll sort it out. That's not a promise, that's what we do.
My name's Siobhan. Andrew and I started Lily's Florist in 2009 but it actually began three years earlier when we bought a florist and gift shop in Kingscliff, Northern NSW. We knew nothing about flowers. Behind the counter with a newborn, doing deliveries ourselves, completely out of our depth.
The previous owner had paid for a Yellow Pages ad just before selling. The book, yeah. The phone wouldn't stop ringing. People wanting flowers sent to places we'd never been. Hobart, Townsville, Taree. We kept saying sorry, we can't help. One day, sitting in that shop with maybe $20 in the till after a full day's trade, we thought, what if we could help?

* This was our shop in 2006.
We drove to Murwillumbah with the baby, nervously asked a florist there if she'd partner with us. No fees, just add a few extra flowers to cover our commission. She said yes. That was 2008. Today: over 800 florists including Tasmania.
We're still Mum and Dad. Decisions get made at the dinner table or while driving the kids to netball or on holidays in Hobart where Ivy's conducting matcha research across every suburb. Asha's 18 now, Ivy's 14. No boardrooms, no offshore call centre, no team of marketing gurus.

We use Feefo for reviews. Google endorses them. Over 3,000 reviews in the last 12 months. Can't delete the bad ones, can't fake the good ones. Feefo Trusted Service Award 2024 and 2025.
Recent ones from Tasmania:
One customer said their flowers were "delivered very promptly same day" with "beautiful arrangements & flowers very fresh & bright." Another said the recipient was "delighted with her rose and lily arrangement." Someone else mentioned it was "very easy to order flowers through the website."

Flowers are subjective. What one person thinks is gorgeous another thinks is over the top. Putting ourselves out there with a third party review system we can't control was a risk. But it keeps us honest, helps us improve, and gives you something real to go on before you spend your money.
Birthday for someone in one of those grand old houses
New Town's full of them. Federation places, Georgian mansions, homes that have been there since the 1800s. Birthday flowers to a New Town address get delivered same day if you order by 2PM weekdays.
Get well for someone at Calvary Hospital
Calvary's just up the road in Lenah Valley. We deliver to hospitals all the time but there's some things you need to know. If they're in ICU the nurses won't take flowers to the room, they'll hold them at the nurses station until they're moved. For maternity or general wards, give us the ward and bed number plus a mobile. We won't call to spoil the surprise unless we have to.
Thinking of you for a uni student doing it tough
Friends School's in New Town, Sacred Heart College too. Students away from home, exam stress, homesick, whatever. Flowers make distance feel smaller.
Same day delivery Monday to Saturday. Order by 2PM weekdays, 10AM Saturday. Business addresses usually by 5PM, residential by 7PM. Can't guarantee exact times but we coordinate when it matters.
Nobody home? We'll leave flowers in a safe spot, out of direct sun and view from the street. Can't do that? We'll call the recipient and work out an alternative.

Delivery fee is $16.95. We subsidise most deliveries beyond that, though some remote locations might need extra discussion.
We've got 250+ products on the site. That's too many. If you're stuck, pick Florist's Choice. Pick a price, let the florist decide based on what's fresh that morning. Takes the decision off your plate.
We've spent 17 years building this network. The Tesla's range anxiety was temporary. Your flowers shouldn't cause the same stress. Same day delivery to New Town. Real Hobart florists making your order fresh that morning. Not posted from Melbourne in a cardboard box.
Order online or call 1300 360 469. We actually answer.
