Send flowers to Paradise Point today. Order before 2pm on a weekday, or 10am on a Saturday, and the flowers are delivered the same day; later orders go out on whatever day you set at checkout. Sending to the Sovereign Islands? Add the resident's full name in the notes for security at the gate. Pick our Pastel Pink Lilies & Roses Arrangement from just below and check out in a few clicks. Prefer the phone? Call us and one of our friendly Australian team will set the order up with you.
What happens between checkout and handover, and the notes that keep the last three steps moving.
Steps three to five are where a delivery here can stall, and each one is sorted by a line in the notes.
Sending to someone in their eighties? An arrangement in foam saves them the vase.
A full vase is heavy, and carrying it to the sink every couple of days is the job that gets skipped at eighty-five. An arrangement built into wet floral foam swaps that job for a much lighter one. The foam does the vase's job, holding water right up against each cut stem, and nothing tips over.
The catch is that foam gives no warning. The arrangement looks fine until the foam dries, then everything wilts within a few hours. The first time I saw it happen, at Salt, I thought someone had left one in the sun. So pass one habit on with the flowers: a small cup of water, poured straight into the foam, every two days.
Paradise Point's median age is 53 and nearly a third of residents are over 65 (ABS 2021), which is why the cards below start at an 80th birthday. No vase at their place? Our flower arrangements arrive ready to sit on the bench.
Mum turns 80 at her place on the canal, and you won't be at the table. Send 80th birthday flowers to the house on the morning of the birthday, and if she might be out at the Paradise Point Bowls Club on Thrush Avenue, put a phone number and a shady spot for them in the notes. A 70th works the same way.
Whatever you send, keep it low. Flowers about half as tall again as their container sit steady on a side table all week; anything taller gets knocked by someone reaching for the remote.
Fifty years married, and the address is on the Sovereign Islands. In 2008 I drove a golden-anniversary arrangement up from our Kingscliff shop on a docket I'd written myself: a surname, a house number, "Sovereign Islands". The man at the security gate asked which island. There are six. He knew the couple, rang the house, and the husband walked down in his slippers to collect the arrangement.
For anniversary flowers, give us both names, the street and a phone number that answers.
Anna's pick: the Blush Pinks Arrangement With Chocolates. It's built into foam inside its striped container, so the same small cup of water every two days keeps those soft pink flowers going well past the anniversary itself.
The funeral notice says Paradise Point Uniting Church on Paradise Parade (or Holy Family, over in Runaway Bay), and you can't be there. Send funeral flowers to the church with their name and the service time in the notes, then sympathy flowers for the home a week or so later, once the relatives have flown out. For the card, "So sorry we can't be there. All our love" is enough.
A sheath needs no vase and lies flat on the coffin, which is why it suits a church service. The florists I worked with aimed to have it there an hour before people arrive, never the night before in a warm church.
Plenty of orders don't fit a heading: flowers for a neighbour who's been unwell, or for a friend who's just moved into a townhouse off the Esplanade.
The Native Arrangement With Chocolates. Australian natives are tough stems that hold up in a bright room and suit a 35-year-old or an 85-year-old equally. The whole thing is built into foam in its own cube, so the cup-of-water habit above is all the care it needs.

Shop birthday flowers2pm on weekdays, which leaves time to build the order and still make the afternoon run.
10am on Saturday, because the Saturday run finishes earlier.
No Sunday delivery, except Mother's Day.
Sovereign Islands or Ephraim Island: the resident's full name and a phone number. Townhouses: the name of the complex and the unit number. Paradise Point Uniting Church or Holy Family: the person's name and the service time. Gold Coast University Hospital: the ward.
Houses: whoever comes to the door, or wherever out of the sun your notes say. The islands: usually the resident, once security rings through. Paradise Lakes Care Centre on Oxley Drive: in our experience, reception, and a carer takes them along to the room. Churches: usually the funeral director. Gold Coast University Hospital: the ward's front desk, then the bed, in our florists' experience. Ordered in time, they're in Paradise Point today.
On the delivery day one of our partner florists near Paradise Point builds the order and takes it out, ringing the number in the notes if the gate or the door is a problem. Something not right when it lands? Ring our team on 1300 360 469, 7am to 6pm weekdays and from 10am Saturday, or email [email protected] with a photo, and it's put right with the florist that day. Two things often hold a delivery up here: a townhouse number with no complex name, and an island address with no name for the gate. Both are one line in the notes.
Silence for a day or two is normal, especially from someone in their eighties (they'll ring once they've shown the flowers to the neighbour, and probably half the street). My dad's in Taree, a long drive from us, so I know that wait from your end, checking the phone and not wanting to be the one who rings to ask. It's an odd thing, sending flowers you'll never see to someone you'd rather be sitting with. It still counts for a lot.
