Same-day flower delivery covers Top Camp: order before 2pm on a weekday and the flowers arrive that afternoon, or choose a later day at checkout. House well back from the road? Put a mobile in the notes. For a service at the Garden of Remembrance on Ruthven Street, add the chapel and the start time. The Florist's Choice Birthday Arrangement With Chocolates arrives in its own water, and the Florists Choice Sympathy Bunch suits the family home, both in our same-day range below. Or call us, and one of our friendly, helpful, Australian-based team will talk you through the options in plain English.
Sending Natives to a Top Camp House? Keep the Vase Topped Up
Natives suit a busy house, and they still need one thing from whoever's home: water. A protea is a heavy drinker. It can take a vase down to the stem ends in a couple of days, and a bunch that runs dry in an empty house starts to wilt by the weekend.
Top it up each morning and the leucadendrons in the same bunch go two weeks or more, in my experience. If the leaves under a protea head turn black, the flower is pulling sugar out of them and the head is fine. I binned a perfectly good stem the first time I saw it. Pull the leaves, keep the flower.
Across the business, birthdays come first and sympathy second, and in Top Camp plenty of both go to family houses on big blocks where everyone is often out until after work. Native flowers suit all three cards below.
Their house sits a long way back from the road, and nobody's in until after school pick-up. Pick from our best-selling birthday flowers or birthday flowers for Mum. What to write in the notes is just below.
I learnt about acreage deliveries on the Cudgen plateau in 2007, carrying a birthday bunch from our Marine Parade shop down a red-dirt driveway. Nobody home. A cattle dog walked me to the verandah, watched me set the flowers in the shade and lay down beside them. The birthday girl rang the shop that night to say thanks, and that the dog wouldn't let her husband near them.
Anna's pick: if it might have to wait, choose an arrangement. It sits in its own wet foam, so nothing goes thirsty while it waits.
Someone's in St Vincent's Private on Scott Street or Toowoomba Hospital on Pechey Street, and all you have is a ward number off a text. That's enough. With the full name and the ward on the order, the ward desk takes the flowers through, in our experience.
Home in a day or two? Send get well flowers to the house instead, with "Glad you're home. Take it slow." on the card. For the ward itself, start with our hospital flowers.
Go easy on scent in a shared room. Gerberas and chrysanthemums carry almost none.
The notice says the Garden of Remembrance on Ruthven Street, or St Matthew's on Beatrice Street. Send funeral flowers to the service and, from what we've seen, the funeral director takes them in early and sets them out with the others.
A week on, sympathy flowers for the home reach the family on a quieter day, with "Thinking of you all, with love." on the card. Flowers don't change what's happened, and people still remember who sent them.
Whites and soft greens sit quietly beside a casket. A sheath is built to lie flat on the lid, so it works in the chapel and at the graveside both.
A thank-you to the neighbour who fed the dog, a new job, a rough week. Not every order has a heading, and thank-you flowers or thinking of you flowers cover most of the rest.
Anna has a view on this one. The Lovely Lilac & Lime Bunch sits between bright and soft, so it suits a thank-you and a hard week alike, and the purple holds its colour out of the afternoon sun.

Before 2pm on a weekday, an arrangement in its own water is on its way to Top Camp today.
Shop Flower Arrangements2pm weekdays for same-day delivery, which leaves time to make it up and get it out.
10am Saturdays, as the Brisbane market at Rocklea shuts at noon.
No Sunday delivery, except Mother's Day.
A mobile, and where to leave the flowers if nobody's home: the verandah, the shed, a neighbour. For a hospital, the full name and ward. For a service, the venue and start time.
On acreage, when nobody answers, the florist tends to find shade by the door. St Vincent's Aged Care on Spring Street usually takes flowers at reception, and a room number helps. Funeral directors such as Burstows on Ruthven Street and Hiram Philp on Herries Street take service flowers in ahead of time, in our experience. Order before the cutoff and it's on today's run.
Your order reaches our partner florist in Toowoomba within minutes and is made up and sent out the same day. Nobody rings you unless the address needs sorting.
To check on an order or change something, ring 1300 360 469, 7am to 6pm weekdays and from 10am Saturday, or email [email protected]. If something looks wrong when it lands, a photo can usually be sent on the day.
On a big block the flowers often wait until everyone's home, so the thank-you can come after tea, or tomorrow (I took the has-it-arrived calls for years, and the answer was nearly always that nobody had got in yet). Now and then they sit by the back door for an hour or two first. It's a long day to wait for a text, I know, and the flowers are fine.
Notes filled in? Then the driveway is our problem.
