Same Day Delivery - Byron Bay Wide
Byron Bay holds a special place in our story, even though we never ended up living there. Back in 2005, when Andrew and I were planning our escape from Sydney's rat race, Byron was right at the top of our shortlist. Andrew had been going there for holidays since 1992 and completely loved the place. I had been at least five times myself before we even met. We both knew the streets, the beaches, the energy. We could picture ourselves there.
The blockage was simple and painful. Real estate. Commercial leases in Byron were astronomical even 20 years ago. The industrial estate, which we thought might be affordable, wasn't. Residential was worse. We just couldn't make the numbers work for two people about to have a baby and start a business from scratch. So we kept driving north, crossed that old timber bridge into Kingscliff, and the rest is history.
On our first 'reccie trip' there as a couple, I recall rather fondly, we went out to dinner one night and Andrew locked the keys in apartment - fail - we only discovered on the way back, as it was just about to start raining. We bolted back into town and did the walk on shame to a cheap joint called the Hibiscus Motel, at 1230AM, and pushed the buzzer, room for 2 thanks - you can imagine the look he gave us.
But Byron never left us. One of our foundational partner florists was in Byron Bay, actually Flowers On The Run. We partnered with them back when we were still figuring out what Lily's Florist would become. And because we are only 40 minutes up the road, we are still in Byron once a month to hang out and have lunch with the kids. Some places just stay with you.
When you order flowers to Byron Bay through Lily's Florist, your order goes to one of our partner florists in the area. These are real florists with real shops, real staff, and real expertise. Your flowers are not made in a warehouse. They are not picked, packed, and posted overnight. They are made fresh that day by someone who actually knows flowers.

Our model is pretty simple. When you place an order, our system routes it to the partner florist best positioned to deliver based on the postcode and what stock they have available. If our main Byron partner is running low on red roses that day, the order goes to the next closest florist who has them. It really is that straightforward.
For same day delivery, you need to order before 2PM on weekdays. We cover Byron Bay CBD, Suffolk Park, Sunrise Beach, Brunswick Heads, Mullumbimby and surrounding areas. Our florists know these streets. They know the quirky addresses, the best routes, the places that are tricky to find. That local knowledge matters.
I mentioned earlier that Byron was on our original shortlist. What I didn't mention was how hard it was to let go of that idea. Andrew had spent so many summers there over the years. The vibe, the beaches, the creative energy. It felt like the kind of place where you could build something meaningful. For me, every visit before I met Andrew had left a mark. There was something about Byron that felt different from anywhere else on the east coast.
When we realised the cost was just too prohibitive, we were genuinely gutted. But looking back, I think it worked out exactly as it was meant to. Kingscliff gave us the foundation we needed. Lower overheads, a quieter pace to figure things out, space to make mistakes without going broke. And Byron stayed close. Close enough to visit, close enough to partner with florists there, close enough to still feel connected.
We are still there once a month, usually with Asha and Ivy in tow, grabbing lunch, wandering the shops, soaking it in. It is not just a delivery location on a map. It is somewhere we genuinely know and care about.
A lot of people have moved to Byron over the years chasing the lifestyle. Friends, family members, colleagues who decided to make the tree change or sea change. Flowers are one of those things that cut through the distance.
Birthdays are a big one. There is something about a surprise flower delivery that lands differently when the recipient is far away. It says you remembered, you made the effort, you wanted them to feel celebrated even though you could not be there in person.
Anniversaries are another. Lots of couples in Byron, locals and visitors alike, marking milestones. Flowers delivered to a home or accommodation add something special to the occasion without the fuss of organising it yourself from interstate.
And then there is Just Because. No occasion, no reason, just wanting to brighten someone's day. Sometimes that is the most meaningful gesture of all.
I want to be clear about what we mean when we say partner florist. These are not subcontractors or random names on a list. They are real florists with real businesses who have chosen to work with us, often for 10 or 15 years. We do not charge them membership fees. We do not take a cut that squeezes their margins. We send them orders and they add a few extra stems to cover our agreed commission. That is the deal.
Flowers On The Run was one of our first Byron partners, right back in those early days when we were still running things from a garage in Pottsville. The relationship has lasted because it works for both sides. They get consistent orders without spending on marketing. We get reliable, high quality flowers delivered by people who know what they are doing.
When you order through us, your flowers are made by these local experts. Not a production line. Not a fulfilment centre. A florist.
We have been delivering flowers to Byron Bay since 2009. That is over 15 years of refining how we do things, building relationships with florists, learning what works and what does not. We have had over 22,000 verified customer reviews through Feefo and received their Trusted Service Award, which is not easy in an industry as subjective as flowers.

We are still a Mum and Dad business. Siobhan and Andrew. Decisions made at the dinner table or on the drive to netball. No boardrooms, no marketing department, no offshore call centre. Just us, our team in Armidale, and over 800 partner florists around Australia.
If you want to send flowers to Byron Bay, we would love to help. Browse online, give us a call, or just place an order. We will probably be down there for lunch next week anyway.
