Same Day Flowers Delivery - Australia Wide!
Flowers can still reach Caloundra West this afternoon on any weekday order placed before 2pm. Our partner florist near the suburb makes every Lily's Florist order on the day it goes out and drives it straight over. Sending to Levande Bellcarra on Carree Street? Put the villa number in the notes, because more than a hundred homes share that one address. Pick from our same-day range below and buy online in minutes, or call us and one of our friendly, helpful, Australian-based team will read the address back to you.
In a Caloundra West living room, the ceiling fan is harder on soft petals than the heat is.
People blame the Queensland heat when a bunch goes early. Moving air pulls water out through the petals faster than the stem can drink it back, so the edges go papery and a gerbera starts to lean at the neck.
I learned it at Salt in Kingscliff one February, with hydrangeas on the counter going limp under the fan by lunch. Half an hour face down in a sink of cool water brought them back, because a hydrangea drinks through its petals as well as its stem.
Put the vase on a side table out of the draft and top the water up every day. Carnations and chrysanthemums barely notice a fan, and gerberas, roses and lilies hold beautifully once they are out of its path.
Three kinds of address come up here: a villa at Bellcarra on Carree Street, a family home in the Bellvista streets, sometimes one they have only just moved into, and a house with a Year 12 student in it at the end of the school year. Birthday flowers go to all three.
Mum or Dad is turning seventy or eighty on Carree Street, and you are a long drive or a flight away from the birthday lunch. Whatever you choose from our 70th birthday flowers or birthday flowers for Mum goes to the villa itself, so the villa number matters more than the street. If they are at the clubhouse or out on the bowling green when the florist knocks, a mobile in the notes gets them back to the door.
Size it for a side table. Flowers about one and a half times the height of the vase sit well there without crowding out the photos.
Someone you love has just got the keys, and the kitchen is still in cartons. Mid-unpack, pick a boxed arrangement from our housewarming flowers. A month in, a bunch is fine. Moving week is also the week nobody is home, so add a mobile to the notes.
Anna's call: the box is the vase. It arrives with water already in it, sits on a carton if it has to, and keeps drinking while everyone hunts for the kettle.
A grandson or a niece is about to finish Year 12, and you will not be there to see it. I learned where these should go the hard way. In 2007 I took roses from the Kingscliff shop to a high school on the Tweed for a girl on her last day. The front office read her name over the loudspeaker to the whole school. She came down the corridor the colour of the roses, half her year behind her, and thanked the floor. I left quickly.
Siobhan and I delivered thousands of bouquets ourselves between 2006 and 2009, and that is the one I think of whenever Year 12 finishes. For a Unity College student on Lomond Crescent, send our graduation flowers to the house, the evening before the last day or the morning after.
Celebration nights leave flowers on the bench while everyone goes out. Get a hand-tied bunch into water before they leave, or the heads will be hanging by morning.
Plenty of orders fit none of the cards above: a sister who has had a rotten week, the neighbour who fed the cat. Anna has a view on this.
Go for mixed flowers with carnations or chrysanthemums through them, boxed if you can. Both shrug off a warm room and a fan, and carnations keep opening new buds into the second week.
Other places to start
Order before 2pm on a weekday and the celebrating can start this afternoon.
Celebration Flowers, Made Today2pm weekdays for same day, so the florist can make the order and still have the afternoon to drive it over.
10am Saturday, because the Saturday run is shorter.
No Sunday delivery, except Mother's Day.
After the cutoff, choose any later date at checkout.
Bellcarra: the villa number and the name they go by. Bellvista: the house number, a mobile that answers, and a shady spot if nobody is in. Year 12: the house, and the day.
In our experience the florist hands flowers to whoever is home. With nobody in, they ring the mobile before leaving them where the notes say. Order this morning and the flowers can be there this afternoon.
Boxed Arrangements, Made Today
Once you pay, the order goes to our partner florist near Caloundra West, who makes it on the delivery day and takes it round. A confirmation email lands straight away. To change anything, email [email protected] or call 1300 360 469, 7am to 6pm weekdays. If something arrives wrong, a photo the same day gives us something to fix it with.
When I was on the phones, right up until Ivy arrived in 2011, I heard it every week: a son or daughter interstate sure the flowers had not come because Mum had not rung. She had them. She was showing the neighbours, or having a lie down (fair enough). Flowers are a poor stand-in for being there, and they are still the thing she shows everyone. The few orders I remember going wrong mostly came down to half an address, which is why Andrew goes on about villa numbers. Give it until tea time.
