Back in 2006, when we bought Kingscliff Flower Shop, we lived in a villa on Kamala Crescent in Casuarina. The place was practically empty then - just a handful of houses, lots of sand, and big dreams from developers I might add. So long ago, and so quiet, some residents used to drive their cars down the bike track, yes you heard right, to avoid being pulled over, so to speak. Oh my how things have changed. That same villa became command central during our baby bottle business boom, stacked floor to ceiling with BPA-free products whilst also managing the flower, gift and organic shop. I still laugh thinking about the looks from the few neighbours we had.

We lived there for years, watching Casuarina transform from coastal scrubland into what it is today. Salt Village went from architects' drawings to reality. The Coles arrived. Streets filled with young families (and now a million e-bikes). Beach access paths were built. We saw it all happen, delivered flowers through it all, before eventually moving to that Pottsville house with the garage office, then back to Casuarina in 2015, and finally to Kingscliff in 2022 where we now live, and where our office now sits above the Commonwealth Bank.
