Flowers for anyone in Croydon Park, NSW 2133 can still be delivered today if the order is in before 2pm on a weekday, or 10am on a Saturday. After that, you pick the day at checkout. Birthday, get-well or funeral, it's all in our same-day range below, from the Gerbera Bunch + Teddy + Birthday Balloon to the Gorgeous White Arrangement. If they're in Canterbury Hospital, the nearest public hospital, add the ward to the notes. Or call us, and one of our friendly, Australian-based team will place the order with you.
Sending lilies into a Croydon Park front room?
A lily keeps working after it arrives. The closed buds open over the next few days, and each new flower brings its own anthers loaded with pollen. Pinch them off as each one opens, while the pollen is still damp and brushes away. Dry pollen bonds to a white cardigan or a good tablecloth for keeps. Lift it with sticky tape. Wiping only grinds it in. I learnt that at the bench at Salt, on my own sleeve.
Pink Orientals, like the ones in the 2 Lily Stems In Glass Vase, get more fragrant as the later buds open, so a lounge room suits them better than a small bedroom.
Same-day delivery covers every street in Croydon Park, whichever of the three councils it falls under. Across the country, birthdays are what we send most and sympathy comes second, which is the order of the cards below. If lilies are on your mind, our lily range is a good place to start.
Mum or Nonna is in Croydon Park, where more than half the residents speak another language at home. You're in Melbourne or Milan, and the card is half English, half Italian. Type it exactly as you want it read, because the florist writes it out word for word. If you're ringing us instead, spell the Italian out.
I learnt to say that in 2008. A daughter in Calabria rang our Kingscliff shop with a birthday order for her mother on a cane farm at Condong, off Tweed Valley Way. Siobhan took the Italian down by ear. I delivered it. Her mother read the card on the front step, fetched a pen and fixed two words.
For a seventieth or later, a vase arrangement saves a step. Nobody has to find scissors and a vase, and it's drinking from the moment it lands on the sideboard. A wrapped bunch is just as good once it's unwrapped and straight into water. More in birthday flowers for Mum.
The notice has a Mass time on it and you can't be there. For a service at St Francis Xavier's on Leopold Street or the Uniting church at Brighton Avenue and Georges River Road, put the time and the funeral director in the notes so the florist can aim to have funeral flowers at the church before the family arrives. Or send flowers to the house in the days after. Card idea: "Thinking of you all, today and after."
Anna's call: white lilies are the traditional Italian Catholic funeral flower. For a Rookwood graveside, the White Lily & Rose Sheath lies flat where a vase would tip. More in sympathy lilies.
A christening, a First Communion lunch, an engagement in the backyard. Send celebration flowers to the house with the start time in the notes, so they land before the guests do. Godparents often get forgotten. A thank-you bunch the week after fixes that.
For a lunch table, pick something low enough to talk over. If it's a bunch going into their own vase, tell them to use a short one: the flowers want to stand about one and a half times the vase's height, so a squat vase keeps the whole thing under chin level. Anything taller gets moved to the floor by the second course.
No occasion, or you've never seen their front room. Anna has a pick for those.
The Beautiful Pastels Bunch. Soft colours sit with any furniture and any age, and nothing in a pastel mix shouts.
If you'd rather leave it to the florist, there's Florist's Choice, or browse mixed flowers.

Order before today's cutoff and a birthday bunch can be in Croydon Park today.
See Our Best-Selling Birthday Flowers2pm weekdays for same day, which leaves the florist time to build the order and deliver it that afternoon.
10am Saturday, because Saturday runs finish earlier.
No Sunday delivery, except Mother's Day.
A house: the recipient's mobile. The units above the Georges River Road shops: unit number and intercom name. Canterbury Hospital: the ward. Bupa Clemton Park: the room. St Francis Xavier's or Rookwood: the service time and funeral director.
From what our florists have seen, a house means whoever answers, or a call to the mobile if nobody does. Hospitals and aged-care homes go through reception. At a church, the funeral director takes them. The earlier it's in, the more of the day the florist has to work with.
A confirmation email comes straight back, and the order goes to a florist in or close to Croydon Park, who builds it on the delivery day. In 2007 and 2008, when we were one little shop on Marine Parade in Kingscliff, this corner of Sydney was one of our ten busiest delivery areas. Every one of those orders went to a florist in Parramatta, the first we approached in Sydney. We hadn't planned any of it.
To change anything, email [email protected] or call 1300 360 469, 7am to 6pm weekdays and from 10am Saturday. Something wrong when it arrives? Send us a photo the same day and we put it right.
A lot of people never hear that the flowers arrived, and the quiet feels like something went wrong, when it usually means they're on the sideboard and she's on the phone to her sister about them (your mum, your aunt, whoever she is to you). Back when I took the calls, the orders that had actually gone wrong were usually to a house with nobody home at lunchtime (more of those than I'd like), which is why that mobile in the notes matters. Nothing by tomorrow? Ring us.
That's the whole process, and it hasn't changed since 2009.
