Same Day Flowers Delivery - Australia Wide!
Flowers can reach Currimundi today: get a weekday order in before 2pm and our partner florist near Currimundi makes it up and sends it out this afternoon. That is how Lily's Florist has worked since 2009: made near the address on the day, never shipped from a warehouse. For Ozcare's Caroline Chisholm home on Saffron Drive, tell us whether they are in a room in care or a unit in the village next door. Choose from our hand-selected range of same-day flowers below, or call us and one of our friendly, helpful, Australian-based team will build the order with you, card and all.
Crisp petal edges in Currimundi come from the air conditioning. The sea air is on the flowers' side.
Most people blame the heat when petal edges go crisp on this coast. Heat speeds a bunch up, fair enough, but crisp, papery edges come from dry air, and here the dry air is indoors. Air conditioning pulls the moisture out of a room, a thin petal loses water faster than its stem can replace it, and the edges curl, worst on the side facing the vent. Outside, the humid coastal air keeps petals plump. It took me a summer on the bench at Salt in Kingscliff to stop blaming the weather.
Carnations have tough, waxy petals and chrysanthemums are built just as hard, so neither minds dry air much. Softer stems like hydrangea hold up well a metre or two from the vent, with the vase topped up every day. Move the vase before you blame the flowers.
Duplexes are common here, so add the side or unit letter to the street number. Nobody home? Name a shaded spot, because a summer doorstep in full sun is hard on petals.
Sunshine Coast University Hospital is just north of Currimundi, in Birtinya. Give the full name and the ward; in our experience flowers go to the ward desk first. Due home soon? Send to the house.
Talara Primary College and Currimundi State School are both in the suburb. Give the teacher's full name and class. School offices tend to take flowers in for the teacher to collect, and they are shut on Saturdays, so make it a weekday.
Thirty seconds of typing saves the florist a second lap of the street.
Young families and an aged-care home share these streets, so the orders below run from a ninetieth on Saffron Drive to a newborn to a funeral. For everything in between, a thinking-of-you bunch does the job.
Someone is turning ninety at 28 Saffron Drive and the cake is happening without you. That address is two places: Ozcare's Caroline Chisholm aged-care home and the Currimundi Gardens retirement village beside it. In the notes, say which one, with the full name and the room or unit number.
I learned why that matters on foot, around 2007, delivering gerberas to a lady at a retirement village on the Tweed. The nursing home shared the grounds, so I tried its front desk first. She lived in the village. A resident on a mobility scooter led me to her villa at walking pace, which for him was flat out. Twenty-five minutes, for a delivery four minutes from the shop. Saffron Drive is the same set-up.
Anna's steer: care rooms tend to be small and air-conditioned. Keep it compact, keep it off a sunny windowsill, and pick a bunch with carnations or chrysanthemums in the photo, because both shrug off dry air. The 80th birthday range is worth a look as well as the 90th.
The baby arrived at Sunshine Coast University Hospital and the family will be home in Currimundi before long. Stays after a birth tend to be short, so if mum and baby are close to leaving, send new baby flowers to the house instead. For the ward, give the mother's full name; in our experience hospital flowers reach the ward desk before the bed. On the card: "Welcome, little one. Sleep when you can."
Nothing that sheds and nothing heavily scented: pollen and perfume both carry in a small room. A boxed arrangement needs no vase and no scissors, which suits a room where nobody has a spare hand.
A funeral notice with a date on it, and a Currimundi family you want to reach twice. Service flowers go through the funeral director, so give us the funeral director's name and the service time, and a wreath or sheath goes to them for the service. Sympathy flowers can follow to the house a few days later, once the visitors thin out. On the card: "So sorry. Thinking of you all."
A wreath or sheath lies flat, so it stays put on a coffin or a stand where a vase would tip. For the house, whites, creams and soft greens sit quietly among the sympathy cards on the kitchen bench.
Plenty of orders fit no heading: a new job, a rough week, the neighbour who fed the cat. Anna would steer you to natives here, and I'd let her.
Banksia belongs on this coast; the wallum heath out past the lake takes its name from the Kabi word for the wallum banksia. A native bunch shrugs off a warm room, and if there's banksia in it, the cones dry on a shelf and keep for months after the softer stems finish. Split the woody stem ends so they can drink.

In before 2pm on a weekday and it goes out to Currimundi this afternoon.
Birthday Flowers, Out Today2pm weekdays: the florist needs the rest of the day to make it and get it out.
10am Saturday: florists tend to close around lunchtime.
No Sunday delivery, except Mother's Day.
Later than that? Pick the day at checkout.
A full name and a mobile that answers. The duplex side or unit letter. For 28 Saffron Drive, care home or village. For the hospital, the ward.
At a house, whoever opens the door, or the shaded spot you name. At the care home or the hospital, in our experience, the front desk signs for it. The earlier it is in, the more of the day the florist has to work with.
Flower Arrangements, Made Today
Once you've paid, a florist in or close to Currimundi makes it on the delivery day and drives it out from there. There's nothing for you to chase. If something isn't right when it lands, ring our team on 1300 360 469 (7am to 6pm weekdays, from 10am Saturday) or email [email protected], with a photo the same day.
For years in the Kingscliff shop I took calls from people sending to a mum or a sister in a town they'd left decades ago (half of them apologised for not visiting, which nobody needed to do). Late Friday calls, someone hoping at half past three, are what taught us to hold the cutoff, and anything after it now goes on the day you pick at checkout. Sending from a distance feels like not enough, and it is still your name on the card on their kitchen table.
From there, the card does the talking.
