Flowers Delivered in Orange Today, Order by 2pm

Order before 2pm on a weekday and the flowers reach an Orange address that afternoon. After 2pm they go next working day, Saturday closes at 10am, and there is no Sunday run, except Mother's Day of course. In winter we tend to push orders earlier, because a doorstep 863 metres up sits near freezing until mid-morning and anything left out is finished before the door opens. The arrangement is built on the day by a florist in Orange, so nothing turns up in a box off a truck. Delivery is $16.95, from the CBD out to the Forest Road campus and the Cabonne acreage. Not sure what to send? Ring one of our expert team today on 1300 360 469.

A real customer review

"Very happy with the whole process from ordering to delivery . Excellent communication, too."

Andrew and Siobhan replied

Thanks Erica, and sorry for the slow reply, this one got away from us a bit.

Good to hear the communication side was up to scratch. That's the part we can do something about from here. Once it's with a florist in Orange it's in their hands, so it's nice when both halves go right.

Appreciate you writing.

Andrew & Siobhan, Lily's Florist

The 2pm cutoff

2pm is a bench and run window. The afternoon is build and drive time. Saturday closes 10am.

Where orders land

Mostly houses. The rest go to the Forest Road campus, aged care receptions and the William Street directors.

What the cold buys

Bureau average for a July morning is 1.6°C. Tulips and ranunculus peak in those months, at their cheapest.

Who makes it

No shop of ours in Orange. The order goes to a florist near the city with bench space that day. The trade is below.

Where an Orange Order Is Actually Built

We have never had a shop in Orange. We were sending flowers here from 2008, before Lily's Florist had a name, and the route has not changed. The order still goes to a florist in or close to the city, built that day off their own bench. What you give up is the counter. You cannot stand there and point at a bucket. What you get is that one shop shutting for a funeral, or short before Mother's Day, stops being your problem.

Named after a fruit too cold to grow here.

Anna, qualified florist | the frost rule for cold country

People hear Central West and picture dust and forty degrees. The town is 863 metres up and frosts most winter mornings. Mitchell named it after a Dutch prince in 1846. The fruit has never grown here.

For a cut flower that cold is the best news on the mainland. A rose that gives a Brisbane recipient four days runs ten to fourteen here. Frost is the part that does damage. It sits on the surface of a petal and collapses the cell wall under it, and cold air on its own does nothing, which is why a tropical bloom carried from a warm van into frost blackens inside two hours.

So through winter, box the order and name a safe place indoors. January's porch is wrong in July.

Six Orange Destinations, and What Each One Needs

The line in the delivery notes that decides whether it lands

Compiled from Orange City Council cemetery information, published hospital street addresses, and what our florists in the area tend to run into. Ward guidance here is our florists' experience. Current as at August 2026.

Going to
What the order needs
Where it stalls
Format that survives
Public hospital ward
Orange Health Service, 1530 Forest Road, plus full patient name and ward
190 beds and no ward named. It tends to sit at main reception. The hospital switchboard on 02 6369 3000 can tell you the ward.
Box or vase. No lilies.
Critical care, burns, cancer service
Wait, then order once they move to a general ward
In our experience these wards do not take cut flowers. Orange's critical care unit is twelve beds, so the wait is usually a matter of days.
Send to the house meanwhile.
Private hospital
Dudley Private Hospital, 261 March Street, in the CBD
Sent 4 km south by mistake. Two hospitals, two addresses, and no maternity unit at this one, so the babies arrive on Forest Road.
Compact box.
Aged care
Facility name first, then the street. At least six homes in town.
A resident name and "Orange" will not find anybody. Delivery goes to reception, and staff tend to carry the order in.
Box, stable, low scent.
Funeral or burial
Funeral director by business name, plus the service date
Two of the three sit at 33 and 35 William Street, and the cemetery and crematorium share Lone Pine Avenue.
Wreath or sheaf for the lawn section.
Bushland burial
Melaleuca Gardens, the environmental interment section
Anything built on floral foam has to be lifted out again later.
Foam-free natives.

Six destinations, six different ways an order stalls. None of them is the florist's to fix once the address is typed.

What to Send in Orange

A funeral in Orange, and you are not there

Condolences go to the house. Service flowers go to the funeral director, dated. One question saves most of it: does the family have a preference? Orange Cemetery has buried into lawn since 2007, so wreaths and sheaves hold where a vase tips. "Thinking of you and your family" is enough.

Anna on the lawn section

Chrysanthemums are the wreath stem here. Weeks in a cool room, and a woody stem holds on turf where a soft one folds. No foam in the bushland section.

Can you get flowers to a Forest Road ward?

You cannot get over there. The public hospital is four kilometres south at Bloomfield, out of town. Hospital flowers go to main reception, and from what our florists have seen the desk moves them on within hours. Wait until the patient is on a general ward. Critical care and the cancer service do not tend to take them. Discharge close? Send get well flowers home.

Anna, qualified florist. A boxed arrangement or a vase. A hand-tied bunch needs a vase the ward has not got. Skip the lilies, the pollen goes airborne and travels on uniforms.

Order before 2pm and it is at their door this afternoon.

Send natives to Orange

Not sure what to send?

Most orders fit no category at all.

Anna, when you cannot decide

Send the native bunch. Banksia and kangaroo paw are grown on the NSW coast, so the run is short and the stems hardy, and leucadendron holds three to six weeks in a cool room. Natives are also the safest choice where a family has asked for them.

Orange Delivery Questions, Answered Straight

How late can I order for a funeral here?

Same day if it is in by 2pm. Better the day before, dated to the service.

Dudley Private, or the hospital on Forest Road?

Ask whoever told you they were admitted. A new baby is always Forest Road; every birth here happens there.

Do you deliver to Blayney, Millthorpe, Molong and Canowindra?

Blayney, Millthorpe and Molong go same day if the order is in early. Canowindra is 55 kilometres southwest and we cannot promise same day, so ring first.

After You Order

An order number lands in your email within minutes. The order goes out as a paid job. Ring 1300 360 469 if anything looks wrong, 7am to 6pm weekdays or 10am Saturday.

Siobhan, the other half of this

Between 2006 and 2013 I was on the phones, and the cold-town call was always the same. The flowers arrived, looked lovely for an hour, then the edges went dark. Every time they had spent the morning on a step, and we cannot fix that end from here. If you have not heard back yet, that is normal. People ring the sender last.
