Same Day Flowers Delivery - Australia Wide!
We deliver flowers across Point Arkwright the same day, and any weekday order placed before 2pm is delivered this afternoon. That covers a house, a unit on David Low Way or a room at Sundale Coolum Waters; order later and you pick the day at checkout. Birthday, anniversary or sympathy, choose from our same-day range below, from the Bright Arrangement With Chocolates to the Gorgeous White Arrangement. Every review we get sits on Feefo, where we can’t edit or delete it. Buy securely online, or call us and one of our friendly, helpful, Australian-based team will check the unit number with you.
Will flowers last in a Point Arkwright unit that looks straight out to sea? Yes, once the vase is off the sunny sill.
Nearly everyone puts the vase in the window with the view, and on an east-facing headland that glass takes the full morning sun off the water. The sun warms the vase water, bacteria breed faster in warm water and clog the stems, and a gerbera bends at the neck days early. Every ten degrees of warmth roughly doubles how fast a cut flower ages.
I first saw warm vase water do this on a display in a shop window: by mid-morning the water was warm to the touch, and the gerberas were already leaning. Move the vase a couple of metres back into the room and change the water every second day, and roses, lilies and gerberas hold beautifully. Chrysanthemums will happily take the sill.
All three can be delivered in Point Arkwright today. Much of the suburb is units and holiday homes along David Low Way, so the address line matters as much as the flowers. For a birthday or the family home, our flower bunches are the easy start.
The birthday is today, you're a long way off, and the address you've been given is probably a number in the fifteen hundreds on David Low Way, which tells you less than you'd hope, because one street number there can have a whole block of units behind it. So the unit number goes in the notes, and a mobile too. If they've moved to Sundale Coolum Waters, say if it's a unit in the village or a room in the care centre (they're different doors, and the difference matters on the day). One in five people here is over 65, and if it's an 80th, our 80th birthday flowers are the place to look; our birthday flowers cover every other age. For a care room I'd pick the Bright Arrangement With Chocolates.
In an arrangement the stems drink from wet foam inside the box, so nobody has to find a vase. A splash of water into the foam every couple of days keeps it going.
An anniversary here might be at home or in a holiday let booked for the week, and we deliver to both the same day. In 2008 I delivered an anniversary bunch to the units near Point Danger, the headland above Coolangatta. The notes said: third floor, the balcony with the telescope. Every balcony had a telescope (whale season, of course it was). In the end the husband, in a dressing gown, pointed me down to the lookout, where his wife was counting humpbacks. She read the card and said he'd never once remembered. He had, that year.
Point Arkwright is the same kind of headland, and the whales go past here in spring too. So when you order our anniversary flowers, skip the balcony and put the unit number, the booking name and a mobile in the notes.
Anna's call: holiday lets rarely have a decent vase, so the 2 Lily Stems In Glass Vase is the one that arrives ready to stand. On roses, peel off the one or two tired outer petals. Those are guard petals, and they did their job on the trip.
Someone has died, and the notice gives a chapel, a time and little else. For the service, put the funeral director's name and the service time in the notes; in our experience the flowers go to the director beforehand, so for a morning service, order the day before. For the family, send sympathy flowers for the home, now or in the quiet week after. Flowers won't fix anything, and the family will still read every card. “Thinking of you all, with love” is enough.
A sheath is built flat-backed to lie down, so the Pink Rose Sheath needs nothing to stand in through the service, and afterwards it can be untied and put in a vase at home. A bunch is made to go straight into water, which is why it suits the family's kitchen. For a celebration of life, colour is welcome, and our funeral flowers run from whites to brights.
Plenty of orders don't fit a heading: the neighbour who watches the unit while you're away, a friend in a new place, someone you haven't rung in too long. Our thank-you flowers and native flowers cover most of it. Anna has a view on this one.
The Australian Native Arrangement. Protea and leucadendron shrug off salt air and a sunny sill. Once the softer stems finish, pull the leucadendron out and stand it in a dry vase, and it keeps its colour for months.
More ways to find the right flowers
Chosen before the cutoff, on their table this afternoon.
Shop Love and Romance2pm weekdays, which gives the florist the afternoon to make it up and drive it out.
10am Saturday, a shorter trading day.
No Sunday delivery, except Mother's Day.
The unit number and building name as well as the street number on David Low Way. A mobile for whoever receives it. For Coolum Waters, village unit or care-centre room. For a holiday let, the booking name.
Whoever answers, a neighbour, or reception at Coolum Waters. In our experience the empty holiday let is where an order goes wrong, which is why the mobile matters. In before the cutoff, with them today.
Once you've paid, your part is done. One of our partner florists near Point Arkwright makes the order up on the day and takes it out, and if a detail changes (a unit number, a surname, they've gone to their daughter's for the week), email [email protected] or ring 1300 360 469, 7am to 6pm weekdays, and one of the team will fix it.
If they don't ring to say thanks straight away, that's normal. On the phones, up to February 2011, I spoke to plenty of people still waiting on that call (it came, nearly always, once the flowers were in water and the fuss had settled).
About a third of the homes in Point Arkwright were empty on census night in 2021. If the flowers are for a guest and nobody answers, the florist rings the mobile in the notes. No mobile, they ring us, and we ring you. Three steps. Usually one. If anything is wrong when it lands, send a photo the same day and we put it right. Same system every order has gone through since 2009.
Siobhan again: the flowers last a week or two, and the card often stays in a drawer for years.
