Same-day flower delivery reaches Postmans Ridge, acreage and all, on any weekday order placed before 2pm, and after 2pm you simply pick the day at checkout. In hospital? Tell us if it's Toowoomba Hospital or Gatton Hospital. The Blissful Botanics Arrangement suits a bedside and the Florists Choice Bright Mixed Bunch a birthday, both in our same-day range below, or call us and one of our friendly, helpful, Australian-based team will sort the card, the address and the day in one go.
Sending White Flowers to Postmans Ridge? Here Is How Each Colour Ages
White shows its age before any other colour. By about day four every bruise and brown edge is there to see on a white petal; yellows and oranges fade so slowly nobody notices, and deep reds hold longest. The plainest choice in the photo is the fussiest one in the vase.
Sympathy flowers to a Postmans Ridge house tend to sit on a sideboard for a week, and sympathy palettes lean white. Give whites the coolest room, out of the afternoon sun, and peel off any browned outer rose petal; the bloom underneath is usually fine. I learnt that at Salt in Kingscliff, on a rose I'd already written off.
Birthdays are what we send most, then sympathy. For something quieter, a neighbour doing it tough or a friend just home, there are thinking-of-you flowers.
The notice says Helidon or Gatton, and you're not sure where to send. Usually it's two places: funeral flowers to the service, St Joseph's on Gunn Street in Helidon, say, or the chapel at Gatton Funerals, then sympathy flowers for home a week on, when the house goes quiet. For the card: "So sorry. Here whenever you need us."
Anna's note: for someone who loved colour, the Orange Flower Sheath. There's no foam in a sheath, so a good florist wires each hollow gerbera stem and the heads don't droop before everyone's gone home.
A big birthday, an address, and no idea which drive is theirs. In 2008 I drove a bunch from our Marine Parade shop to Stokers Road at Stokers Siding, Asha asleep in the back, and found the gate chained, so I left it in the shade on the letterbox. The postie drove it up with the mail, and the birthday girl rang us to thank him. I never corrected her (still a bit pleased, still a bit ashamed). Postmans Ridge is acreage too, and named after a mailman, which feels fitting.
For a 60th birthday bunch, the vase matters: just wide enough that the stems lean on each other. Too wide, and they splay and flop.
Someone's had a fall or an operation, and you don't know if they're still in. If they are, hospital flowers go to Toowoomba Hospital on Pechey Street or Gatton Hospital on William Street, where in our experience the ward desk takes them through; if they're home, send get well flowers to the house instead. For the card: "Do as the nurses say. Love you."
Choose something already in water, like 3 Gerberas In A Vase: no scent to bother the next bed, and no hunt for a vase.
Not every order fits a heading. Maybe it's the neighbour who watched the place while you were away, or a friend having a rough month. A thank-you bunch or just-because flowers cover either, and I know what Anna would say.
The Australian Natives Bunch. Woody heads don't bruise like soft petals, so in my experience they look right for a long while, and the hardest heads then dry in a jug on the windowsill for months.

Order before 2pm on a weekday and it can be in Postmans Ridge this afternoon.
Shop Flower Bunches2pm weekdays for same day: the florist needs the afternoon to build it and drive it out. 10am Saturday, as the Brisbane market at Rocklea shuts at noon.
No Sunday delivery, except Mother's Day.
The front door can be a long way from the road, so describe the drive and add a mobile. For a service, the venue and time: St Joseph's in Helidon, Gatton Funerals, Burstows in Gatton or Hiram Philp in Toowoomba. Graveside at Murphys Creek Cemetery? Say so, and the florist sends a sheath that lies flat.
In our experience aged care homes such as Regis Gatton on Dawson Drive sign at reception, and funeral flowers go to the funeral director, who sets them out before the family arrives. Before 2pm, and it goes out today.
From here, the florist makes it up that day and takes it out. If you've heard nothing by dinner, that's normal out on acreage; they might be in the shed. I took those worried calls from 2006 until Ivy arrived in 2011, and the flowers were nearly always already on the kitchen bench.
Something not right? Call 1300 360 469, 7am to 6pm weekdays and 7am to 10am Saturday, or email [email protected].
The notes ride on the dash. Second drive past the Pioneers Memorial Hall means the second drive past the hall. Now and then two houses share a track and the first knock is next door; the florist rings the mobile and walks it up the right drive. Wrong flowers? Send us a photo the same day and we fix it.
Somewhere off Murphys Creek Road, someone's about to get a surprise.
