I'll be honest with you, Prahran wasn't on our radar when we first started Lily's Florist back in 2009. We were this tiny operation in Northern NSW, answering phone calls for flowers in our shop, completely overwhelmed by the sheer volume of requests. But here's the thing about running a flower business, and that is your customers teach you where you need to be.

We'd get these calls, maybe 15-20 a month, from people wanting to send flowers to Prahran. "Can you deliver to Chapel Street?" they'd ask. "My daughter just opened a boutique there." Or "It's our anniversary and my wife works in Prahran Market." And at least 6 months, we had to say no, sorry, we can't help you.

The Lightbulb Moment That Changed Everything

One particularly quiet Tuesday afternoon in 2010, after turning down yet another Prahran delivery request, my partner Andrew and I looked at each other across our makeshift home office (which was literally our converted double garage in Pottsville) and thought, this is ridiculous. We're turning away good people who just want to send flowers.

So we did what we'd done with other locations, picked up the phone and started calling florists in Prahran. The first one we spoke to, a lovely woman who'd been running her shop for 15 years, immediately got what we were trying to do. "You'll build a page for Prahran and send me all the orders?
