Call 1300 360 469 or order online for same day flower delivery to Riverview. Order before 2pm weekdays, 10am Saturday. We're Lily's Florist, Australian owned, partnered with real florist shops across Ipswich suburbs including Riverview. I'm Siobhan. April 2025 my daughter Asha competed in state rep netball in Ipswich. Day 3 she got injured. Concussion check required, straight to hospital. We drove through Riverview in a panic looking for emergency. That hospital visit changed how I see this suburb. This isn't research, this is what happened to us as parents.

Order flowers to Riverview online or call 1300 360 469. Lily's Florist delivers fresh flowers to Riverview and surrounding Ipswich suburbs Monday to Saturday, same day if you order before 2pm weekdays or 10am Saturday. We're a family-run Australian business partnered with real florist shops across Queensland, including Ipswich. I'm Siobhan, I co-own Lily's Florist with my partner Andrew, and we spent April 2025 in Ipswich for our daughter Asha's state rep netball. Day 3 she got injured, needed a concussion check at Ipswich Hospital. Those few days gave us a different perspective on the area, including suburbs like Riverview. This isn't research, this is actual time spent as parents in a town that matters to us now.

Lily's Florist founders Andrew and Siobhan with daughters Asha and Ivy in 2026.

* Our family in 2026. This Ipswich netball trip in April 2025 changed how we see Riverview. We’re still that same Mum and Dad team making decisions at the dinner table.

How Riverview Became Part Of Our Network

We started Lily's Florist in 2009 after buying a tiny flower shop in Kingscliff NSW that we had no idea how to run. The previous owner had just paid for a Yellow Pages ad (the book, seriously) and our phone exploded with calls from all over Australia. People wanting flowers delivered to Brisbane, Gold Coast, Townsville, Ipswich. We kept saying "sorry, we can't help."

The original lime green Lily's Florist shop in Kingscliff NSW established 2006.

* The shop where we first started saying yes to Ipswich orders. It taught us that whether it's Riverview or Kingscliff, people just want local care and fresh stems.

Eventually, with about $20 in the till on a quiet winter afternoon, we had a moment. What if we stopped saying no? What if we found florists in those areas and asked them to help us?

Queensland was critical early on. The population, the spread of towns and suburbs, the demand for flower delivery. Ipswich was on that early expansion list. Some of our Queensland partner florists have been with us 14-15 years now. That's proper partnership, loyalty that works both ways.

Riverview and the surrounding Ipswich suburbs became part of our network through those early Queensland partnerships. We don't own shops, we work with established local florists who know their areas. No membership fees, no warehouse flowers, no Australia Post deliveries. Just real florists making fresh arrangements and delivering them properly.

We're still just a Mum and Dad business. Andrew and I make decisions at the dinner table while the kids do homework or complain about netball training. No boardrooms, no marketing team, no offshore call centres. You can read the full story about how we started on our About Us page, it's a proper yarn involving baby bottles and a lot of sweat.

April 2025: Asha's Netball and Why Ipswich Matters To Us Now

April 2025, our eldest daughter Asha had her state representative netball tournament in Ipswich. Not a business trip, a parent trip. We spent days there, watching games, sitting in stadiums, doing the whole anxious proud parent thing.

Between games we needed coffee, somewhere to decompress. We found this cafe called Ellen & Rod. Became our second home over those few days. Andrew kept going on about their espressos (he's particular about coffee), said they were excellent. I got hooked on their Sticky Chai Tea. Not the powdered stuff, they actually make it there. It was so good I bought a large bag to take home. Still drinking it now, still reminds me of those netball days.

Day 3 though, Asha got injured. Concussion check required, straight to Ipswich Hospital. That's parenting at sports tournaments, the highs and the sudden scary moments. We drove through areas we hadn't noticed before, including Riverview, looking for the hospital, trying to stay calm, trying to reassure Asha while internally panicking. The hospital staff were excellent, thorough, professional. She was okay, thank goodness, but it gave us a completely different perspective on Ipswich and its suburbs.

You get to know a town differently when you're there for something that matters. Not as tourists, not as business owners doing market research, but as parents sitting in emergency waiting for a doctor to tell you your kid is fine. Riverview stopped being just another Ipswich suburb on our delivery list and became part of a memory we'll have forever.

Our partner florists who serve Riverview and the surrounding Ipswich area, they're part of that community. They know the streets, the sports complexes, where the hospital is, where life actually happens. When someone in Riverview orders flowers, those florists make them. When someone needs flowers delivered to Riverview, those same florists handle it. That's how it works, that's how it should work.

What Anna Says About Riverview Flowers

Anna's been with us 15 years, qualified florist before she became our bookkeeper. She still talks flowers with our partner florists, still knows what's happening on the ground. I asked her about typical Riverview orders, what occasions come up most.

"Riverview's solid suburban territory," Anna told me. "You get the full spread. Birthdays are huge, obviously. Lots of mixed arrangements, bright colours, nothing too formal. People want cheerful for birthdays in suburbs like that."

"Anniversaries too," she continued. "Roses are still the go-to for romantic anniversaries. Red roses, pink roses, sometimes white. People stick with what works. Our florists in Ipswich keep good stock of premium roses because the demand is consistent. In Queensland's humidity, roses delivered to Riverview homes last 7-10 days if you change the water daily and trim the stems at an angle every 3 days. That angle cut helps them drink properly. People don't always know that."

I asked about other occasions. "Get well soon is common, especially with Ipswich Hospital servicing the area. People send flowers to homes after hospital stays, or to the hospital itself if the ward allows it. Gerberas are popular for get well, sunflowers too. Something that lifts the mood without being too heavy."

"New babies," Anna added. "Pastel arrangements, soft colours. Pink for girls still dominates even though people say they want gender-neutral. Peach, cream, white mixed with soft pink. For boys it's blues and whites, sometimes yellow. Parents love receiving flowers after a new baby, makes them feel celebrated."

"And sympathy," she said, quieter. "Always sympathy flowers. White lilies, white roses, simple elegant arrangements. Death doesn't discriminate by suburb. People in Riverview need sympathy flowers same as anywhere else. Our florists handle those with extra care, they understand what those arrangements mean."

"The thing about Riverview," Anna finished, "is it's just regular Australian suburban life. All the occasions you'd expect. Nothing exotic, nothing unusual. Just people wanting to mark moments with flowers, which is exactly what we're here for."

About the Author

Siobhan Co-Founder, Lily's Florist

I started Lily's Florist with my partner Andrew in 2009 after we bought a struggling flower shop in Kingscliff NSW. We knew nothing about flowers, nearly went broke several times in those early years, but somehow built a network of over 800 partner florists across Australia. It's still just the two of us making decisions, no boardroom, no marketing team, no strategic planning sessions. Most of our business choices get made at the dinner table or while driving our daughters Asha and Ivy to netball training.

Asha just graduated Year 12 in 2024, turns 19 in May 2026. Ivy's 15, turns 16 in February 2026. They've grown up in this business, from crawling around our Kingscliff shop floor as babies to now helping out when we need them. Asha's state rep netball tournament in Ipswich in April 2025 is why I wrote this particular page. That hospital visit on day 3, sitting in emergency with her, driving through Riverview looking for the hospital while trying not to panic, it connected us to this area in a way business research never could.

I write most of our location pages myself because I want people to know there's an actual human behind Lily's Florist. Someone who's spent 17 years coordinating flower deliveries, who's talked to thousands of customers about why they're sending flowers, who's dealt with the logistics of getting fresh arrangements delivered across an entire continent. Someone who's also a mum, who understands the panic of a sports injury, who gets emotional at graduations and anniversaries and funerals.

We're Australian owned and operated, based in Northern NSW, with our call centre team in Armidale. When you order flowers from us, you're not dealing with a multinational corporation or a warehouse operation. You're dealing with a family business that started with a dodgy Yellow Pages ad and somehow became something bigger than we ever imagined.

If you want to read the full story of how we went from a failing gift shop to a national flower delivery network, check our About Us page. It's a proper yarn involving BPA-free baby bottles, a double garage converted into an office, and a lot of late nights packing orders while trying not to wake the kids.
