Same-day flowers to anywhere in Torrington: order before 2pm on a weekday, or 10am Saturday, and they arrive that afternoon. Any later, and you choose the day at checkout. We've been sending flowers into Torrington since 2007. The Rose, Gerbera & Lilies Bunch makes an easy birthday, and the wreaths sit under the Sympathy tab. Sending to Glenvale Villas on Hursley Road? Add the room number. Buy online in two minutes, or call us and one of our friendly, Australian-based team will have it booked in before you hang up.
Sending to a Torrington House or Workplace? Pick Flowers That Look After Themselves
Two things finish a soft bunch early: dry air, and nobody at the vase. Air conditioning in a workshop office pulls water out of the petals faster than the stem can replace it, and a bunch that arrives there on a Friday has nobody topping it up until Monday. A house that sits empty all day does the same thing, only slower. I watched enough desk flowers fade that way to stop recommending hydrangeas for an office.
For either room, send a box arrangement. The foam holds a day or two of water on its own, and carnations and chrysanthemums barely notice dry office air; a carnation goes a fortnight in clean water. Roses do beautifully too, in a cool corner away from the vent. On Monday morning, half a cup of water into the foam keeps it going.
Birthdays come first and sympathy second, the same as everywhere we deliver. What changes in Torrington is the address: a house, a workshop office or a room in care, and each one needs a different line in the notes. Where nobody will be standing over a vase, our arrangements come ready in their own box.
You know the birthday; the question is where they'll be today. At home, a mobile in the notes lets the driver ring ahead. If they work in the sheds along Carrington Road or Boundary Street, add the business name and the words front office. I learned why in 2007, carrying a birthday bunch into a panel shop on Machinery Drive, Tweed Heads South, through the open roller door and straight into the spray booth. Nobody had written front office on that order. The woman it was for watched the whole thing from the office window.
Anna's call: if it's for a bloke at work, go deep colours and solid stems from the birthday flowers for him, boxed, so nobody has to hunt for a vase in the lunch room.
You have a room number and maybe a nurse's first name, and that's enough. Glenvale Villas is on Hursley Road and Bupa Glenvale on McDougall Street. In our experience flowers go to the front desk and staff take them down, so the room number in the notes does the work. For a milestone, start with the 80th birthday flowers; for no reason at all, the thinking of you flowers. A card can say: Thinking of you, see you Sunday.
Rooms in care are small and warm. Keep it compact, no taller than the bedside lamp, and pick gentler-scented stems where the air doesn't move much.
A funeral notice gives you a venue, a day and a time, and the florist needs all three. Name the venue: McGrath Funerals on Mylne Street, the Toowoomba Garden of Remembrance on Ruthven Street, or graveside at the Drayton and Toowoomba Cemetery on South Street. For the family, sympathy flowers for the home sent a few days later arrive once the visitors have thinned out. Flowers change nothing about what happened. The family still remembers who sent them. A card can say: With deepest sympathy, from everyone at work.
A tall vase tips on turf in the first breeze. A wreath or sheath lies flat and stays put, and white with soft green sits quietly beside the other tributes.
Plenty of orders don't fit a heading: a thank-you to the crew who covered a shift, a new job, a bad week. Anna has a view on this.
Send the Blush Pinks Arrangement With Chocolates. It sits in foam in its own box, so nobody needs a vase, and the carnations in it still hold their shape a week after the roses have softened. Desk, kitchen bench or bedside table, it doesn't mind.
More Ways to Choose
A birthday bunch ordered before 2pm on a weekday can be on a Torrington doorstep or desk this afternoon.
Shop Our Best-Selling Birthday Flowers2pm weekdays, so the florist can make it and still get it out the same afternoon.
10am Saturday, because Saturday is a short day.
No Sunday delivery, except Mother's Day.
A workplace: the business name and who signs, for the sheds on Carrington Road, Cumners Road or Boundary Street. Care: the room number. Hospital: the ward, at Toowoomba Hospital on Pechey Street or St Vincent's Private on Scott Street. A house: a mobile.
Usually someone at a counter. In our experience workplace staff, reception desks and nurses' stations sign for it and pass it on the same day. A morning order gives the florist the most room.
A confirmation email comes straight away. Our partner florists in Toowoomba, some with us more than thirteen years, make it that day and drive it out. Changes go to [email protected], and if something is wrong when it lands, a photo the same day is all we need to put it right.
Questions before or after: 1300 360 469, 7am to 6pm weekdays.
I took the calls from 2006 until Ivy arrived in 2011, and the workplace orders always came with one worry, that the flowers would make a fuss in front of everyone (they do, a bit, and that's sort of the point). No reply tonight is normal, people knock off tired. Now and then a workplace order arrives after someone has gone home early and waits there overnight (it's fine by morning, but if they finish early on Fridays, send it Thursday).
After that it's between them and whoever's on the front counter.
