Flowers to Wellcamp go out the same day, to the house or to their work, when you order before 2pm on a weekday or 10am Saturday. Later, just pick a day at checkout. We've been sending flowers out this way since 2007, acreage blocks and all. The Australian Natives Bunch, our biggest seller, makes an easy birthday, and funeral flowers can go direct to Burstows in Toowoomba. Buy online below in two minutes, or call us and our friendly, Australian-based team will put it through while you're on the line.
How Long Will Flowers Last in Wellcamp? Usually a Week or More
Usually a week or more, in my experience, and what decides it is time out of water. A bunch made near the address that morning goes from bucket to vase in hours; one posted interstate in a carton can spend days in transit. A cut stem keeps losing moisture through its petals, and drier inland air speeds that up. Gerberas show it first and bow at the neck, so they're happiest made close by and straight into water; carnations and chrysanthemums barely notice either way. I learnt that driving my own gerberas to Brisbane one summer, half of them nodding by the time I parked.
When the flowers land, recut each stem on an angle and change the water every second day.
Birthdays are what we send most, then sympathy and get well, and each has a card below. If nobody's home till late, our flower arrangements arrive ready to sit, no vase needed.
It's their birthday, they live on acreage, and they could be anywhere on it. A mobile in the notes lets the driver ring from the gate. If they work in the business park by the airport, at Wagners or the flight school, or anywhere in Toowoomba, send the flowers there instead. If it's Mum, start with our birthday flowers for Mum.
Anna's call: the Australian Natives Bunch. Native flowers like leucadendron shrug off a warm kitchen, and the woody heads dry on a shelf for months once the softer stems have gone.
Someone from Wellcamp has ended up in hospital in Toowoomba, and you're working from a text message. Put the hospital and the ward in the notes (Toowoomba Hospital, St Andrew's or St Vincent's Private), and in our experience the ward desk gets the get well flowers to the bed. Already home? Send them to the house. For the card: "Get well soon. The dogs miss you."
Keep hospital flowers compact. A bedside table holds a jug and a phone, so a small boxed arrangement in foam beats a tall bunch that needs a vase nobody has. The box is the vase.
You've got a service time in Toowoomba and the funeral director's name. Send sympathy flowers for the funeral to the funeral director, Burstows on Ruthven Street or Hiram Philp on Herries Street among them; from what we've seen, the flowers are in place before the family arrives. Sympathy flowers for home can follow a week on. Flowers won't change much. People remember them anyway. For the card: "With love, and so many good memories."
Whites and creams sit quietly beside a casket, and the White Lily & Rose Sheath can lie along the lid. If lilies go to the house instead, pinch the anthers off as each one opens: that orange pollen won't brush out of a black suit or a cream couch.
Plenty of orders aren't a birthday, a funeral or a hospital stay: thank you flowers for a neighbour, a teacher at Wellcamp State School in December, or a visitor landing at Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport. Flowers for a visitor go to the house where they're staying. I learnt that at Gold Coast Airport in Coolangatta in 2008, holding lilies and a woman's name on cardboard while her flight ran an hour late. She walked straight past me. Planes run late. Houses don't.
Anna's pick: the Lovely Lilac & Lime Bunch. Lilac and lime don't pick a side, so they suit a teacher, a neighbour and a spare room equally.

Our partner florists in Toowoomba, some with us more than thirteen years, make the flowers that day and drive them out, and then it's a knock on the door or a horn at the gate. Something wrong when they land? A photo the same day, to the email below, is all we need to put it right.

I took phone orders from 2006 until Ivy arrived in 2011, first in the Marine Parade shop and then from home in Pottsville, and the worried calls after a delivery nearly always came from the sender. Out on acreage, whoever got the flowers is probably down the paddock, or under the bonnet of something. The thank-you might take a day, or turn up later in a card (that's the one they keep, by the way).
Ring them that night if you can't wait. The flowers give you an opening line.
