For a quieter week at the house, send sympathy flowers for home. Flowers are small against what that family has lost, and they still keep the card. "With love to you all" is enough.

Don't read anything into a quiet night. People on acreage are often out till dark (my guess, I've never lived on a block), and the thank-you comes the next morning. I heard "she hasn't rung" on the phones more times than I can count between 2006 and 2011, and it nearly always meant nothing. Now and then an order has the lot number instead of the house number, and the florist rings to check, which is a nuisance.
After that, it's up the drive and onto the kitchen bench.
