Same Day Delivery - Taree Wide
Your flowers go to a partner florist in or close to Taree who builds them fresh that morning and delivers by hand the same day. Order by 2pm weekdays or 10am Saturdays. Call us on 1300 360 469 or order online. Delivery is $16.95, subsidised so the florist gets paid fairly and you are not overcharged. Florist's Choice from $71.95.
Siobhan here. I grew up in Taree. Mum was a school teacher, Dad taught at TAFE, and there is a 1978 class photo of me at Taree West Public School that I am fairly certain proves I was once that small. When we started Lily's Florist in 2009, Taree was one of the very first places we called. Pauline and Tina at Daralea on Chatham Avenue said yes before we finished explaining. We visit at least twice a year. The full story is here.
We go back to Taree twice a year. Dad is there, the fig trees are older than the settlement, and Daralea has not moved from Chatham Avenue in over eighty years.

Taree sits on a floodplain 16 kilometres from the coast. It gets the humidity without the sea breeze, and in winter the cold air drains down into the valley and sits there. The Bureau of Meteorology has recorded minus four degrees in Taree. People do not think of it as cold, but minus four will burn heliconia overnight. Black spots on the petals by morning, no saving them. In summer the same town hits 29 degrees with 80% humidity at 9am, which is prime territory for grey mould on roses.
Winter in Taree is actually good for certain flowers. Stock and snapdragons thrive in the cooler weeks. They hold their colour longer and the fragrance lasts because the cold slows the chemistry that breaks scent compounds down. A stock bouquet delivered in July to someone in Taree will outlast the same stems delivered in February by four or five days easily.
A woman in Canberra called me once ordering for her mother's funeral at Manning Great Lakes Memorial Gardens. She wanted white oriental lilies, fully open for the service in two days. Oriental lilies take three to four days to open from bud. I steered her toward roses and chrysanthemums instead, stems that would be at their peak on the day. The lilies would have arrived still closed and she would have been gutted.
Daralea at 42 Chatham Avenue grows some of their own counter flowers on site. The chrysanthemums in your arrangement might have been in the ground that week, not in a truck from Sydney. Other stock arrives via overnight courier, conditioned and in the cool room before the morning delivery run starts. They have been on that corner since the 1940s.

* How it works. You order, we connect with a florist in the Taree area, they deliver fresh. No post. No boxes.
65% of our Taree orders are birthday flowers. I know. A town where close to 30% of the population is over 65, four funeral homes, nine aged care facilities, and birthdays run the numbers. Sympathy sits at around 12%. Mother's Day is the next biggest spike. The rest is a mix of everything else.
With a median age of 45, a lot of the birthday orders we see for Taree are milestones. Seventieth, eightieth, ninetieth. The kind of birthday where the person has been in the same house on the same street for decades, the neighbours already know, and the family is ordering from Sydney or Brisbane or further because they cannot get there in person. Some of those milestone orders go to aged care. Estia Health, Bushland Health, Storm Village. Rooms are small so compact arrangements work better, and scented stems like freesias do more than a big bunch that takes over the bedside table.
The birthday orders from interstate families are the ones where Florist's Choice earns its money. The person ordering has not seen their mum's living room in six months. They do not know what colours are on the table, what size vase she has, whether the lounge room gets afternoon sun. The florist does. They have probably delivered there before. Let them pick the stems and the style. A Florist's Choice birthday bunch built by someone who knows the house will always look more considered than a fixed arrangement chosen from a photo on a screen 800 kilometres away.
Sympathy is around 12% of our Taree orders, but funerals here are not small affairs. Families go back generations and when someone passes the church fills up. Flowers can go to the home, the church, or direct to the funeral director. If you are not sure which, mention it when you order and we coordinate. Wreaths and sheaves are the most common request for formal services.
WT Howard on Flett Street, over ninety years. Becker Family Funerals on Victoria Street, four generations. Hutchinson Family Funerals on Pulteney Street, close to fifty years. I took plenty of calls from interstate families ordering for services at these homes. Catholic services at Our Lady of the Rosary on Albert Street tend toward whites and formal tributes, crosses and casket sprays. The celebration-of-life services at Manning Great Lakes Memorial Gardens chapel are different, more colour, more personal, sometimes native flowers that reflect the person's connection to this part of NSW. Ring the funeral director first and ask what the family prefers. Five minutes on the phone saves you ordering the wrong arrangement.
The Biripi people are the traditional custodians of this country, and their community in Taree is significant. MidCoast Council supports NAIDOC Week celebrations each July, and Biripi artists have painted the planter boxes along the main street. For sorry business, for NAIDOC, for celebrations that connect to Country, native flowers carry a meaning that imported stems do not. Banksia, waratah, flannel flower, wax flower. Our florist can build arrangements using these.
Natives are the practical choice for Taree beyond the cultural connection. They handle the humidity, they survive if delivery is delayed by a day because the river is up, and they last well in a vase without constant fussing. A chrysanthemum on a warm Taree doorstep will outlast a rose by close to a week. Banksia will outlast both.
This is the story. Pauline and Tina at Daralea told us that in their entire working lives, they had never sold out of flowers on Mother's Day. Then Lily's Florist happened. Within a year of partnering with us, they sold out completely. The flower side of their business went from being propped up by the garden shop to completely supporting itself. That was over fifteen years ago and Mother's Day in Taree is still the single biggest delivery day of the year for us.
Mother's Day is the hardest day for any florist to get right. Wholesale prices spike, the best stems get bought early, and every florist in the country is working the same morning. The florist in Taree who has been through fifteen of these knows to order heavy, condition early, and start building before dawn. If you are ordering for your mum in Taree, order by Saturday 10am for the Sunday. The florist holds them in the cool room overnight and delivers fresh in the morning.
Fair enough. You do not need to be a flower expert. That is what the florist is for. Our Florist's Choice option lets them pick the best stems from whatever came in that morning. No fixed photo to match, no locked-in design. They build something with what is genuinely freshest and strongest. Florist's Choice from $71.95. Or if budget is the priority, have a look at flowers under $60.
When you let the florist choose, you get better flowers. They know which stems arrived strong that morning and which ones are past their best. A florist in Taree who has been doing this for decades reads the stock like a butcher reads a side of beef. Matching a photo from the website means compromising with whatever is available. Giving the florist freedom means the arrangement is built around what is genuinely good right now, today, this week.
Call us on 1300 360 469 (7am to 6pm weekdays, by 10am Saturdays) or order any time at lilysflorist.com.au. You can also email us at [email protected] if you need to change something after ordering. We are not automated. You will get a real person.
Same day delivery to Taree if you order by 2pm weekdays or 10am Saturday. The 2pm cutoff exists because the florist needs time. Stems have to be conditioned before they can be arranged. Rush that step and the flowers fade faster. A regional florist works with stock that has already been in transit, so cutting corners on preparation is the quickest way to end up with flowers that disappoint by day three.
No Sunday delivery. Fresh flowers need a working florist and a working wholesale market. Sunday means neither. If you need flowers for a Monday morning, order by Saturday 10am and the florist will hold them in the cool room overnight.
Delivery is $16.95, and we subsidise it so the florist receives a fair delivery fee and you are not overcharged. The Manning Valley covers a wide area and the fuel cost is real, but that is not your problem to solve. Order before 2pm today and your flowers are at their door this afternoon.
We use Feefo, an independent verified reviews platform whose ratings can appear in Google search results. We cannot edit or delete them. 23,320+ customers have left a review. Two of them ordered flowers to Taree.
"Bloomin' lovely! Colourful arrangements for a variety of occasions. Taree - ideal for local deliveries. Flowers looked gorgeous on display. Reliable delivery. Easy to access the website / ordering system. Highly recommend."
Pretty Pink ArrangementThe Pretty Pink Arrangement that Mary ordered is a boxed design. The florist builds it in a container with saturated floral foam, which means the stems are drinking from the moment they are placed. For a delivery to Taree, that is a smarter choice than a hand-tied bunch because the water source is built in. If the recipient is not home straight away and the box sits on the doorstep for half an hour in the Taree heat, the foam keeps the stems hydrated. A bunch in cellophane does not have that safety net.
"Flawless. Beautiful flowers and efficient service from a distant location to a recipient in Taree. Thanks."
Florist's Choice BunchSteve ordered from interstate. He could not get to Taree himself, so the florist did. Order before 2pm today and your flowers are there this afternoon.
Your order goes to a florist covering the Taree and Manning Valley area. The Manning River floods. Debris hit Martin Bridge in 2021. May 2025 broke every record at 6.5 metres, a one-in-500-year event that isolated 48,000 people and closed the Pacific Highway at Purfleet. The river will rise again. One of our partner florists near Taree has worked through all of those events. They know which low-lying roads close first and how to reroute through Wingham Road when the main route is cut.
If something goes wrong with your order, call us on 1300 360 469 or email [email protected]. We ask for 24 hours to sort it out. The florist sends us a photo of the arrangement before it leaves the shop, and if you are not happy with what arrived, we ask for a photo of that too. Two photos, one conversation, and we work through it. Siobhan and I have been running this since 2009. The complaints process has not changed because the simple version works. I would rather a florist spent their time on the arrangement than filling out a form.
Your flowers are built fresh that morning by someone who knows Taree. They wrap for the conditions, they know the roads, and the arrangement is at the door the same day. We have been doing this since 2009. The floods have not stopped us yet.
